We need a Top 50 Spirit Crusher Riffs
You just need to listen to the song hahaha
@Tosi Mattia at that point might as well lol
Spirit crusher is banger and so is every other death song
😂😂😂
We need a top 50 riffs of the top 50 riffs of the top 50 riffs of Spirit Crusher
Even the riffs have riffs
...why does this make sense
Yo dawg, i heard you like riffs, so I put riffs in your riffs, now you can riffs on your riffs while you riffs
Riff^2
and the superb Bass lines
Let's keep the like count...
It's impressive the amount of riffs that Death has in one song
That's what I love. Nearly every song starts to repeat from the verse after the solo. So it's like it reaches the absolute limit of riffs before it allows itself to repeat then you get to hear em all again
@@calebbean1384 right? So cool they made their songs that way
True.
Its like avg 5 in one song
There is not that much, but what is cool is that every riff is equally as good
It stills blows my mind how Chuck was able to evolve Death's sound without abandoning their signature style. He was such a genius.
For the later albums, absolutely, but SBG and leprosy definitely stand out as more "traditional" whereas spiritual healing onwards is more progressive
У меня этот альбом тоже самый любимый
Considering Death only did 65 songs in their entire career it's pretty amazing how good this 50 list turned out lol.
oskulock
They had a lot of songs during their rehearsal days. Seizure is awesome, so are Archangel and Chamber of Horrors.
Don't forget he took multiple riffs from the same songs though.
It is 64
Why wouldn't it, there are very few bad death songs (I honestly can't think of any right now)
Quality over quantity anyday

Flesh and the power it holds, without judgement, forgive is to suffer, and almost any of perseverance album
You can tell that your favorite album is the sound of perseverance
Nicolas Magallanes the simple but beautiful riffs from SOP it's amazing.
For me the human album is the best
Scream Bloody Gore And Leprosy are my favourites
personally , death is one of the very few band for me where every albums are very good yet different,
scream bloody gore, leprosy and spiritual healing are probably my favorites, yes some track in others work are also damn too good
it's very melodic and sound very nice
The sound of perseverance is an absolute masterpiece.
Absolutely
Great but symbolic does have some insane songs too

This just made me go to listen to Death's discography. What an amazing band.
They are one of the few bands that actually deserve the massive hype that they have.
Evan Schaefering yeah. So many qualities they have
1.) they evolved their sound and every album is unique
2.) they were able to experiment with their sound without going “soft”
3.) We got to see Chuck grow as a person and guitarist from his talent and lyrics
4.) each album has a unique line up of talented people
Also Chuck is my most powerful son. That’s why he’s god, he is the son of SHAGGY and no he didn’t die he ascended to a new dimension
Shaggy Rogers truly a riff god. how can one create so many headbanging yet meaningful riffs? is it possible to learn this power ?
@@yannsa1994 not from a jedi
This great man lived among us in this century and he created masterpieces of sound.
i have zero tolerance for people like this who dislike without judgment

Slowly turning into a misanthrope, I see.
It's all empty words that people say inside of the crystal mountain, where evil takes its form.
They deserve death but metal
fazeel ashraf tolerance equal fascism
Greatest Death Metal band that has ever existed and will ever exist.
I think Im not alone in the crowd that didnt take death metal seriously until they heard this band.
picciloson Death is honestly the only death metal band I can listen to. There’s just something different about them and I can’t put my finger on it.
Jacob R true. Only band of that genre
Jacob R try gojira if you haven’t heard
I don t like death metal but death has some amazing instrumental work
Chuck died on the day that i was born. Same year and everything. Just discovered Death like a week ago. I love it. I feel as if I were destined to one day be fucking addicted to this band. I still do not have a favorite song from them.
Killin' Weebs do you have one yet?
You could be perfectly his re encarnation so grab a fucking guitar and play it like a god
@@cactusdemar I like your thinking
I think my goal in life is to make death more known!
JavierSinTilde LOL I wish I had the time and dedication
Every riff is so memorable. They all stand out.
I got to meet the man in 1995. Hung up stairs at the old Peabody's in Cleveland Ohio for about an hour and a half.
Chuck was the most humble man who ever walked the Earth.
It's not every day you get to meet your idols and I've been playing guitar ever since I discovered him in 1991.
The ultimate riffmaster!
I have a signed flyer that I laminated when I got to see him on the symbolic tour.
It was truly an unforgettable night, I miss him dearly!!!
Spiritual Healing: one of the most evil riffs I've ever heard!
The Album has another advantage, James Murphy was the other Guitarist.
For me it's altering the future intro and killing spree intro, spiritual healing as an album has some of the best underated songs
@@stephenhester9804 I think James Murphy was also with Testament and Disincarnate

FINALLY!!
- believe it or not, this was one of the first videos I wanted to make. it was postponed, for one reason or another. but now it's on
- the framerate/lag problems of my videos is the same. even if I've changed my pc. I've found out that is my video editor's fault. I can see everything perfect in the preview, but the export is choppy and laggy. I've tried everything, spent too much time to fix it and nothing worked. so, fuck off
- the video of story to tell's lead guitar was completely lost ... whatever

@@arise8078 It feels weird to mention I listen to them for that reason

Should've been Megadeath
Now Chuck can finally rest in peace
Thanks man
Damn. you too
]v[ E G A D E T ]-[ , eh?
Chuck is smiling upon you.
"Destiny" was the only official love song Chuck ever wrote for Death (unless someone can prove me wrong!) and it's about his brother who died when they were younger I believe.
He wrote a lot of songs about his brother... Seeing him dead changed Chuck's perception of life and death, he says it in some interviews.
Also Open Casket is about his brother
@@bobajanfettsolo9143 tnx for information brother
I've always loved that song, glad to hear it has such a meaningful story
Damn, didn't know about his brother, i got some research to do now
"So what do they mean by "technical" death metal?"
_Watches his left hand_
"Oh my god."
Moonatik actualy i find the right hand even more impressive a times
Right hand doesnt stand still either
its technically death metal
@@quentinorsoni The right hand is impressive, yes, but by practising riffs faster and faster you can easily work up the stamina to play that fast, or faster, in less than a year.
The left? Not so much.
@@novaseer tbh your fretting hand is easier to figure out than the picking hand
Nice Picks! Chuck would be honored by your sound and perseverance!
Mark Fritsche and the sound *of* his perseverance

Perennial quest is one of the best album closers ever, the message is really powerful, and those acoustic guitars at the end always get to my heart
I guess it's a good thing that Andrea didn't put the closing riff from Perennial Quest in the video after all. Because otherwise there would have been floods all across the world on the day of the video's release
Your transitions feel so natural(even when the time signature changes). It actually feels like a continuous Death song!
More importantly, is that an 'L' from Death Note shirt?

The spiritual healing tapping riff is so god damn hard for me to play.

Haven't listened to Death in a while and this just reinvigorated my desire to give their discography another listen. Truly one of the best bands to experience growing as years went by. I'm sort of ashamed to admit this but at 53 I JUST recently discovered Death and the late, great maestro Chuck Schuldiner. I guess better late than never huh?
Of course I just FINALLY embraced death metal and it's many iterations and now I proudly jam Carcass/Dark Tranquility/ Insomnium/Be'lakor/ Mors Principium Est/Allegaeon et al.
Once I learned to tolerate the "harsh" vocals the sky is the limit.
But undoubtedly Carcass and Death are featured heavily in my playlist. RIP Chuck. Awesome job as always ABB! 💯🤘

This band has such a unique sound it's incredible
I love how you saved all the fast riffs for the end lol. But I'm surprised you didn't include the fast verse riff from Symbolic. That riff is amazing.
What makes Death so awesome is how the songwriting and sound evolved throughout the years. And they were all awesome! How Chuck was able to envision what sound he wanted, and aligned top notch musicians to create his vision or sound.
All that said...Symbolic is my favorite.
Great choice of riffs and great execution. The start with 'The Flesh And The Power It Holds' instantly gave me chills, what a masterpiece. And then I kept getting chills throughout the video. You've earned a new subscriber, man. Thank you for this \m/
I felt the same way, however when he jumped from 2nd riff to actually 4th one in the song I felt betrayed. For real that missing part gives me orgasmic feeling.
Haha, I felt exactly the same, but I didn't want to nitpick xD He probably just didn't want to choose too many from one song, I guess that's why he skipped it.
I get that but I would totally sacrifice number 3 or even number 2 for this sake.
Uh, it's hard to decide. The 2nd one is the build-up for the missing one which culminates into the 4th one (no. 3 here), so I don't know, leaving any of them feels kinda weird. Not sure what I'd do tbh. To be fair, there were more riffs I kind of missed here like the opening riff of 'Bite The Pain', the 2nd riff of 'Empty Words', 'Voice of The Soul', but then again, I wouldn't take any of the riffs included here out either. I guess it just shows what a great band Death is, even picking 50 riffs is too hard :D
I guess we need pt. 2 :p
DAT moment after 9:32. What a new song, thats is increadeble! Masterfull price montage, great work!

You can do another 50 from Death and so on...Chuck was one of the most brilliant minds in Metal.
I love the fact you put these "50 riff " videos up. It gets people into different bands and honestly you're is one of the channels I recommend for starting off metalheads
Death is the most "riffy" band in my opinion. Death riffs is the best riffs in metal!
Death is probably my all time favorite band, along with other greats such as Megadeth, Sodom, Kreator, and Demon Hunter. I always loved the superb musicianship of Chuck Schuldiner (May he rest in piece), as he is basically the Mozart of Metal. I always liked the Egyptian-esque solos in some of Death's songs, as well as their complexity. It always makes me sad to see how overlooked Death can be though, they deserve a lot more attention.
