+Yogen Grg Pantera is groove, but so is machine head, that doesn't make them equal. Lamb of God is also a different kind of groove, at least in my opinion.

Right? Sometimes I keep wishing that he'd do some sort of a loop of that one good-ass rif from Ozzy's Crazy Train. [This was actually already done, but obviously not from him - here's the looped/extended version of the Riff I'm talking about: th-cam.com/video/EwlR_6yq9OA/w-d-xo.html ]

This a really great compendium - so useful as a guide to all the sub genres. So well played. Thank you.
I only listen to Rammstein so there are 99 new bands to listen.
so how where the other 99 bands? some nice ones?
I and the video's target hope you find something appealing to your ears

@@marshalllaw5794 right, wish could be a good choice
Deep, burn, Broken (whole album), oh man so much goodness
I'm disappointed there's no Gojira but you won my heart when you said "Devin's genius". :3

Michael Moore no it is munge
@Michael Moore IDK man when you add the alternative metal elements you get something weird
Tool isn't metal, they themselves hate being labeled as metal.
@Michael Moore You act just like that other Michael Moore, what's with the name calling!?!
PsiClone 414 wtf. They also stopped animal testing. Just because the nazis did something doesn’t make it nazi behavior. Categorizing is something every human does. We are incredibly skilled at recognizing patterns so we put them into categories. Stop categorizing everyone who does something you don’t like as a nazi.
I can't handle how easy it looks and how hard it actually is to play these riffs :( Anyway you keep me motivated to be able one time...
"not properly metal" love it
I would take suicidal over D.R.I any day of the week, thank you very much. That's called opinion.
Shame on you people who dislike this.
Don't look at them, they drink rubbing alcohol and try to molest teddy bears in the garage.
I disliked you
@@Jonjs99 don't be a jerk. just leave if you don't like it.

I like how tool is its own genre, so true haha

Ай порадовал, братан. От души!
чет мало русских комментов.

I like that you kept in the drum solo for painkiller, such a sweet intro drop in :)
Spotify playlist needs to be made! Rit meow!
It was a delight watching this video.
Metal is and always will be my favorite music.
Literally saved my life, 3am, 16hr into an 18hr drive, queued this up and head nodding turned into head banging quick, thanks!
7:12 The riff that started it all
The way he plays the main riff from The New Order by Testament is so addictive.
8 years after this was made i still come back to this video to just pick out a new metal song based on a riff i like. Rock on man!
Clearing some '?':
Moonspell = Gothic / Doom / Death Metal
Lamb of God = Groove Metal
Children Of Bodon = Melodic Death Metal
And I'm pretty sure Hammerfall is Power Metal
Great choice of riffs btw.
Lamb of god is Modern Nu Metal. Pantera is groove metal.
+Yogen Grg Pantera is groove, but so is machine head, that doesn't make them equal. Lamb of God is also a different kind of groove, at least in my opinion.
Pantera went through a lot of genres throuhout its discography, it was a whole other sound in the 80s :)
Gabriel Sá Pinto lknoknojn
Brother youve become IMMORTAL.
Long live Metal
Perfect transition every time. Have him on the background each time I hang out the garage.
Andrea: 0:47
Varg: confused screaming
The transition of Helloween to Pantera was so perfect
So many epic riffs I’ve never heard of!
