- The Cemetery of Montmartre (French: Cimetière de Montmartre) is a cemetery in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, France, that dates to the early 19th century. Officially known as the Cimetière du Nord, it is the third largest necropolis in Paris, after the Père Lachaise Cemetery and the Montparnasse Cemetery.

The picture of Pascale Sindic waving goodbye, her little child, Ludivine in her arms and their dog, is very appropriate because her tombstone says that Pascale died at 36 years old in June 16, 2000 and Ludivine also died in June 16, 2000 as well as their dog Gege. Very sad!
I noticed that also and was wondering what happened to them. Tried to look it up but there's nothing but that they all died and are buried in France.
I tried to look as well...maybe a car accident ?? So sad 😞
Hi GV and sue very interesting cemetery lovely video has always and beautiful Graves looks a big cemetery i think I've seen this one before but I love watching them you and sue do a marvellous job take care both of you and hope you are both well ❤ 👍
Thanks shel doing good hope you are well
Wow!! I NEVER knew who invented the saxophone until I watched this video!! I love learning new things!!🎷🎶
That headstone with the question mark was ABSOLUTELY intriguing!! I too wonder about the meaning behind it!! ?🤔
Thanks for taking us with you on your many exciting adventures, GV (and Sue too, of course)!! XXXX 🤗👍❤💗
Thanks nadia ❤️
Hmmm, that one had me wondering too! Franck and Sebastien were not related (Sebs last name is Gazave), but died on the same day. It's left me with more questions, lol.
Same! I also had no idea that the saxophone was invented that long ago.
That lovely mother and her beautiful baby, date of death was same year and day. Based on the age of the baby (D.O.B and D.O.D.), less than one year old, it must not have been too long after that photo was taken of them. Must have been an accident. So, so very sad.
Your channel is so thorough in informing us, and we appreciate it so very much. It's like a class in the history of so many deceased that you cover.❤️ I absolutely love your accent also!
Thank you mari

Pleased to see the mention of Fernando Sor. He was born in Barcelona and was known as the 'Beethoven of the Guitar' in his day . He wrote a method for the guitar which is still taught to this day and elevated the instrument from being a 'Novelty' instrument to a serious one. After the Peninsular war (1807-1814 ) in Spain and Portugal , being on the 'wrong side of politics' he exiled himself to Paris where he composed and played his hundreds of compositions, tought and later regularly toured Europe . As he aged and his health started to fail he wrote to the King of Spain asking permission to be buried in Spain, but this was refused. All the great guitarists of recent decades , Segovia, Julian Bream, John Williams etc played his works, as do I and many amateurs. . Some of his guitar studies can be fiendishly difficult.
Interesting information thank you and thank you for watching please hit the subscribe button for more great videos
@@GraveVisitations Thanks will do
@@GraveVisitations If you are minded there are hundreds of videos on TH-cam of people playing works by Sor, there is also a 3 part documentary about his eventful life which reads like a novel :) Sorry I am a Sor fan !
Loved this cemetery, Beautiful graves, loved the detailed monument's. Looking forward to part 2. Thank you and Serenity Sue for the tour. ❤😊 Both of you have a blessed rest of the week.
Thank you 😊
Part 2 will be Père Lachaise Cemetery. This is montmartre cemetery
These monuments are awesome. I have always been fascinated by family mausoleums, they have a certain kind of class that is hard for me to describe, especially the old-fashioned mausoleums. The first mausoleum you visited was particularly interesting. I noticed a stain glass star of David in the wall.
Were they Jewish ✡️ ? There is really too much on your video for me to comment on, this is such an awesome cemetery. This is one of your best videos yet. Thank you very much GV, and Sue, this was fun to watch. You and your family are in my prayers 🙏 Take care. 😊
Enjoyed the whimsical "?" at 07:00. One of our village cemeteries has a monument with a cross & flame on the side and inscription: "enough is enough". It's in the 1940s to 1950s years of burial section but no other clues. No one knows who, why, when, ???
Intriguing mystery!!
Thank you!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
❤ grazie GV ❤❤❤
Thank you for allowing us to join you on a fantastic adventure. One day I hope to get there.
Fascinating graveyard. It seems very cramped, close together. So sad about Dalida and how she died. The one with the feet, very interesting....thanx for a great video. Loved it as always.you and Sue take care, love ya's❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
I'm so glad that you could take me along to see this beautiful cemetery.
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
That was magnifique GV. Dalida had a lot of tragedy in her life, leading to her suicide. The moving head gave me the willies, lol. And I noticed the mother and child in the photo died on the same day. Thank you for an amazing walkabout. Deb of Oz XXX
I am so jealous you and Mrs Sue running together in Paris what a holiday that would be. Bless you both and take care
It is just incredible how unique each and every grave is Cathal. That one monument with the ugly face was just grotesque. The face was bad enough but it looked as though the brain was coming out of the head like a bunch of angry worms. I wonder what that really meant. Maybe she had lost her mind! Geezzz, that cemetery is phenomenal! Thanks so much for you and Sue bringing it to us. BTW, those are kneelers in the small masoleums for those that want to kneel and pray for their loved one. Not really a chair.
Thanks for watching Janet 🙏❤️
Amazing video! Wow, thank you!
That was super interesting. The saxophone is such a beautiful suave instrument that enhances any kind of music. Thank you for showing a great presentation Cathal and SS Sue.👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks Alan
You broaden my mind You both have a great easy true way... much love U2 @@GraveVisitations
Interesting graves and beautiful sculptures!
Absolutely Donn
Wow!!! Amazing site! Thank you for bringing it to us!!! 💖
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching
Some stunning graves and super interesting..Thanks to you both for making us these great videos ❤
You both seem to be in your element and who could blame you , it's a beautiful place. I like the face that follows you , creepy, but very well done. Thank you both 😊
😊 thank you
Ok, I think I will make an appointment with an optometrist because I don't see a face following them. Are you using a laptop because all I have is my cell phone. Does that make a difference?
@@peterbilt-bo1vy I'm on my tablet
Catching up on videos. That face headstone was freaky. Another great job
Thanks again!
These are beautiful grave stones. Thank you for taking us along with you.
Love the updated vids and photos. Gives you an idea of their lives.❤
Kneelers not chairs but you probably got that now. Loved Dalida's grave, beautifull.
Some massive crypts there
Huge
@@GraveVisitations yes mate definitely
Fantastic video and so interesting. Stunned by most of the memorial stones and graves. Such beautiful memorials for obviously very much loved people. Can't wait for video 2. Thank you GV. ~ Cobs (UK)
Thanks cobs
Oh wow, the man who invented the saxophone. I see that Dick Rivers died on his birthday from cancer at age 74
All. Look. Great.
Hey you two
I’ve been watching both of your videos!
Wow Dick Rivers passed on his birthday too, his family gave him a beautiful grave stone.
Omg that 3D white grave was cool! Freaky his face followed you when you moved! Dalida has a beautiful grave! She was gorgeous, love her statue!
The last grave was neat! ❤
Those things you keep calling weird little chairs are " Prayer kneelers". The have them individually or attached to the backs of pews in churches usually.
I could have done with sitting on one I was so tired from the heat
This is the best one you've done so far I've been following ye since ye got to Paris love it 😀
Thanks John
it’s so creepy it’s beautiful. 😳
I have never seen a question mark on a headstone interesting and weird at the same time.
Unusual for sure ha
Nice cemetery walk GV, France sure does have some interesting cemeteries. The one under the budget is a little weird, but industry happens I guess.
We Found Amazing places on our trip
@@GraveVisitations that's awesome
Another great video thank Sue and you for making it
That is the question. Bizarre. Great video, I had no idea there was actually a Sax who invented the instrument.
Either did I. I guess we learn something new every day
May they all Rest In Peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for this vault and not going down those stairs. I won't go under ground thanks for this video from Paris.
Very unique and beautiful grave sites. Thanks for showing. ❤
Glad you enjoyed
I do enjoy both of your videos so much. I'm thinking though that TH-cam needs an Irish subtitle function. I leave your videos on silent sometimes when the grands are here and read the subtitles. Imagine my surprise when I looked up and saw "....in search of adult sex" and had to rewind with sound to figure out it was supposed to be Adolf Sax. 😳
😂 Weird
That cemetery is amazing and I loved the "lady in the dress" one how beautiful it is I thought the ones with the encased bodies were very unusual with the feet showing very strange. Thank you for that tour loved it. Much love to you and Sue take care 💜💜👏👏👏👏👏👏
AMAZING PLACE !!!
So interesting! Thank you for this tour!
Our pleasure!
They seem to have a long history over there
Fabulous video. I didn't know about Sax. I think the guy with the face that follows you must've had a good sense of humor. And the faces and feet! Dalida was beautiful. Thanks so much, GV. Thinking of you two and the family.
Thanks toms ❤️
Thank you so much!! ❤
Amazing craftsman ship another top number mate safe travels to you both from ballarat in Oz,👋👋🙏🙏👍🇦🇺
Than you for this very interesting walk.....☺
Glad you enjoyed it
Like a city in a city! Place is so interesting. Much history. For some reason the head with the feet below creeped me out! Also, something fell on the floor at the same time and I jumped😂 Thanks for the tour💕
Jump scare lol hope you are OK
@@GraveVisitations yup😂🤣
I subscribed to your new TH-cam channel.
Thank you
Beautiful statue of her as well.
? Not sure what's that all about. The eyes that follows really creepy. Imagine that at night! Thanks, Mr Sax for the 🎷! Thanks for this vid, GV!
Thanks for watching
Love the video today so nice day there
It really was
Wonderful video
When mentioned Adolphe Sax...I knew that name. I visited Dinant Belgium 🇧🇪 where he was from and there is a statue of him there.
Cool I'll have to look that up
Those chairs are called prie-dieu. Also, any info on the Cathebras grave? I'm curious about it.
I think they are also called kneelers. I'm not sure what grave you are talking about
For being in a city of the dead some beautiful stones, pictures and stained glass and one creepy looking face on a headstone.
Paris really does have it all
Hi i make you laugh, i went to Paris for a long weekend with my ex husbannd about 43 yrs ago, he liked a drink, so hed been up till late at hotel bar, we went next day visit the church of this grave yard was big inside load of people praying in the seating area, he was not interested in history he sat down with people praying, i . Looking around when i heard the eco of someone snoring real loud, i was so embarrised i left him there, i sat out side, when he arrived hour later, he said someone woke him said his snoring upsetting people praying, i could not stop laughing, he didnt think it was funny.
😂 How embarrassing
The grave of Pascale and Ludivine @ 13:13 with photo of lady waving. Knowing both died same day makes the heart hurt.
Guy Pitchal grave @ 15:33 that head appearing to move was creepy but now want to know how it was made. Never seen anything like it. Ghost hunters in the dark walked up on a moving head they would probably need a clean pair of drawers.😂
As you leave @ 15:57 help? Or help me?
At Dalida grave after you say 1987 @ 17:37 I am right here? (Slow speed)
Thank you for sharing your walk with us. Love & Light.❤️
I visited that cemetery in 2008. It is astonishing. I may be wrong, but did I hear you say Sax was an inventor of a violin? Andrea Armate invented the first violin in the 2500's. I played the violin since a very young age. Typical Irish musical family, with many instruments and 2 pianos.
Can't say I did Elizabeth
That old chair doesn't
Look like a chair it looks like a kneeler to pray
elaborate to say the least, just beautiful
Dalida committed suicide on pills so sad after one of her husband shot himself a bunch of years before and a friend jumping off a building WT someone should’ve had eyes on her at all times sleeping with pills, sad just so sad!RIP
The one with ❓.. Maybe means "why"... 🤔 Thanx for all You do ❗🙏🕊️🌟
I love places like this
Amazing to see
They are not chairs , they are called kneelers
I found out afterwards thanks
loved the moving head one!
Face following you spooky😵❤️
15:45 okay that’s so very cool
Creepy 😬
Charley boorman is Ewan Mcgregors (star wars) best mate.
Telsche was in Excalibur.
I'm afraid that your cell phone will fall into a catacomb from the 1800s that is impossible to open. 😅
One of my biggest fears 😂
Hope. Wether. Is OK. Sue. And. You. 2.
How many people are buried there?
I didn't count
Yall don't disrespect what you do is even more important than most realise you tell the story of those long gone and that is important plus we are all curious because it's something we must all face I'm debating clear coffin full of clear resin when I go type a thing and then on display beats my other boring idea of my ashes grown into a diamond made into jewellery for everyone in my family to hold onto
Whatever your wishes are I'm sure family will respect 🙏
Spooky mate
The French cemeteries are certainly vey different from most in the USA.
You show the dead respect by remembering them.
Just a little comment for you, John Boorman's daughter was in Excalibur movie from 1981. She was King Arthur's mother in that movie.
Thanks
Evp 1855 ..1856....I fall for you? I follow you?
great trip
Just so you know, for future reference they're called kneelers not chairs (here in the states they are). Enjoyed the walk though except for the one grave whose gaze followed you. Nope, too creepy.
And again after the boy
Is there anyway that you could find out more about the grave with the question mark as they both died very young and on the same day. Also the lady with the baby and dog died on the same day. I tried to look it up but there's no information on what happened to them but I live in the US so maybe you have more information in France. It would be very interesting to know what happened to them. Very sad.
We had a family bereavement here sorry
its a negative image of his face making it seem 3d
It's spooky 😬
That's a lot of marble for a grave with the lady even for this day & age, did her family come from money?
Wouldn't it be interesting to set up a camera in one of these places overnight and see what it captures.
I bet alot of spirit activities
❤👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼
So where was the Creepy Grave?
How Could you miss it 😮

What a spectacularly lovely cemetery. As a guitarist meself, the Forneri stone was particularly poingnant.
🍀🪦🍀
Cool headstone for a musical man
2:44 I’m thinking someone failed map reading🫣Oh there we go right way up.👍
😂👍
