They started that with Sakura Wars (2019) on PS4 (rebot + sequel). Then revived Super Monkey Ball, Virtua Fighter (remakes), and Samba De Amigo (new game).
I want them to make consoles again. They made the greatest hardware (possibly due to their arcade dominance/lineage). Sorely missed. I am sitting next to a 2S12B populated frickin' Blast City cabinet writing this. 😝 Edit: WILL say though, possibly weird coming from a Sega fan (and I will be a minority), that I never gaf about Sonic mainline games for some reason. Sub-par, overrated 2D-games compared to Mario imho, with bad platforming, and in 3D well... Adventure aged like milk for example. SO many other forgotten games/franchises that were so great but now seemingly forgotten. I'd like to see full remakes of Panzer Dragoon 1, Zwei, Saga and Orta first (and then maybe a new game in the series). It's also been a while since the Nights into Dreams Wii sequel (that I didn't play). Imagine a new Nights game with revamped gameplay; maybe first person VR?

Seeing Eternal Champions on this list blew my mind. My sister and I would play EC: Challenge from the Dark Side on our Sega when I was still really little. I'm expecting Skies of Arcadia to be revived soon too, as the director recently said he was "still hoping" to make a sequel. I can't wait for this new era of Sega!
EC super excited for. Now if they did a 3d version of altered beast like with Mario 64 as well as the comic kid 1. That I feel would be the best way to do them. As they were amazing games. But feel like they could do so much more with those titles in a 3d world instead of the 2d
Eternal champions wasn’t even all that good to begin with at least your first game. I would’ve loved to have played challenge from the Darkside, which was a much better game from what I’ve seen.
I suspect Skies of Arcadia will see an HD re-release before it ever gets a sequel. It is my favorite JRPG by far, but it never found a large audience due to the late Dreamcast release and the GameCube bombing. I still believe if it had a PlayStation 2 port, it would have finally found its audience. I can't see if a Dreamcast Mini ever happens it not being included. To play Skies of Arcadia Legends you have to have a $100+ game loose! The storytelling and gameplay still hold up well 20 years later.
Altered Beast is about a warrior fighting a god to save his wife. The game should have a strong influence by God of War, with the hack'n' slash format mixed with the transformations, and it could have a mechanic where certain areas, items or moves should be accessed/activated by a specific transformation.
Heck yeah! I was obsessed with Eternal Champions in my youth. I loved the background stories of the characters and unique move-sets for characters like Xavier, Larsen, and Blade.
The games that originally got me into SEGA Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe , Altered Beast and Kid Chameleon and more are coming back and looking really good so far . This is interesting!
I used to agree with you 100% about Nights and I wanted that to come back too. Then I played Robocop. Now what I want the most from Sega is a AAA ESWAT game. A 3D, third person action game with a large budget and upgradable armor and weapons. Nights would still be awesome though.
It's just a matter of time before they announce Phantasy Star II or IV. Would love to have Phantasy Star 1-4 in the Square Enix 2D HD style like Octopath traveler.
There’s been quite a bunch of rumours going around that Sega is doing a remaster of Skies of Arcadia, wish I hope turns out to be true. Haven’t had the chance to play it definitely would play a remaster of it. Also hope Sega does remasters of Sonic Shuffle, Sonic Adventure 1&2 and puts the cancelled Shenmue 1&2 HD remaster back in development (the proper remaster we was getting but they ran out of time)
Good news so far and especially looking forward to both Golden Axe and Altered Beast. Altered Beast was an impressive arcade game but the megadrive port could have included the smaller details, considering that the ZX Spectrum version was able to do so( iris animation on the intro, proper art for the werewolf-dash ). Great mash up of Arnold, American Werewolf and Greek myths. Burning Rangers and Panzer Dragoon Saga need to happen! I'd beg for Twinkle Tale and Alisa Dragoon as well, but alas they weren't made by Sega...
Seeing how Capcom drags it's feet when it comes to giving true Resident Evil fans what they really want, I believe this is Sega's opportunity to rebrand the dormant House of the Dead series into a third person over the shoulder survival horror shooter with action elements. What makes the RE series so great is there's the perfect push & pull between games being plot & character driven...and as we know, Capcom has done a great job of "branding" their flagship characters of RE games. So let's see Sega do something similar to that formula which creates more reoccuring games opposed to one off "story" only games such as TLOU/Silent Hill/Alan Wake, etc.
@@morriganrenfield8240 Absolutely...and the key is to make versatile brand named characters that can thrive in just about any situation. While I was happier with Separate Ways over the main campaign of the recent RE4 Remake release, I'm not happy about Capcom: 1) scrapping the Ada DLC of Village 2) cancelling the Revelations 3 project altogether 3) potentially passing over a Code Veronica remake to rush a 5 remake. 4) making another werewolves/witchcraft- oriented version of Village while merely calling it RE9 Apocalypse. As an investor & entrepreneur myself, I understand Capcom has to answer to their shareholders....but giving loyal long-time fans what they want is not a bad business decision either.
For my part I'd like a new Ristar. But I'm glad they're doing something with Kid Chameleon. It was simply one of the best 2D platformers ever in terms of level design. Pretty cool too to hear about Eternal Champions, especially since its appeal came from its universe and characters, which is easier to port to 3D than other aspects. Overall pretty good news. I don't mind Altered Beast either despite not being a fan favorite.
Eternal Champions...WOW! Love both games and played them a bunch. Thought it had a cool concept that lent itself to a ton of potential combatants and the stories for each character were pretty fleshed out as well. The game play definitely needed more polish, but there was a great foundation there. Seeing the image on the back of the Saturn box for Eternal Champions 3 with "coming soon" underneath it had me pumped to see what a 32-bit version would have been like! The fact that it never happened has always frustrated me, and from time to time I'd search the web for any EC news which always left me dissapointed. The idea that SEGA after all these years could possibly be bringing this franchise back has me feeling like a kid again looking forward to it's possible release...what a great feeling! It's almost as if The Eternal Champion himself traveled to 1995 and saved the game from it's demise and brought it back to this point in time to give it the chance it never had of becoming a celebrated fighting franchise. Super excited to see how this all plays out, and keeping my fingers crossed we get a proper entry into the series!
As someone that has been gaming their entire life, now in my 40's, and plays Sega Saturn more than modern consoles. This is what I have been waiting for! If everything is on the table, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a new Dragon Force or a turn-based Shining game.
I’m interested to see how Kid Chameleon would play out. I’m wondering if it’s a remake or a sequel. I do believe Eternal Champions would be cool though I don’t really know anything about it, I think a different fighting game franchise is a breath of fresh air. But I do think Gunstar Heroes needs a revival or something like Ristar to come back.
Man you got me so excited with that announcement All 3, Eternal Champions, Kid Chameleon, and Altered Beast... I almost cried lol... Kid Chameleon is the one I want to see.. Nights into Dreams would be a great one too, that Wii Version was not my cup of tea but if they go back to the original format then it will be good.
Of this batch, I am most excited at the possibility of Eternal Champions. Underrated underappreciated game that has if anything grown in popularity over the years, strangly. It has aged quite well, even graphically, as a 2D fighter.
Eternal champions on mega drive good memories but I went back and played it and it was bad…. But reinventing these franchises is amazing. Main thing for me is finding a way to please nostalgia and put modern day twist into anything they do whilst giving great gameplay to help it succeed. Really hope works well for Sega!
I think this is great news, and I’m pumped for more Sega classics. Really hope to see a remaster/remake (“Kiwami” version) of Skies of Arcadia. I missed the original and I’d love the chance to play it. It would be cool to have more depth to something like an ESWAT game or Altered Beast. Like make them 3D and have more story with them.
Never give up, we begged Sega to bring Yakuza 5 to the West, and they finally did (albeit with help from Sony). We wrote letters and kept up the heat for several years. I’m really hopeful, I believe Sega knows people want it. I’ve also heard rumors that the source code was lost, but who knows if it’s true. @@flatcapman
I enjoyed Eternal Champions on the Sega CD, not as much on the cartridge. I would really love to see Shining Force to return on a turn based tactical on a map grid!
Altered Beast, historically, was a flagship title for Sega. The original Mega Drives/Genesis came bundled with it, so seeing that brought back is good to see. There's so much more that they could do in the future, like Alien Storm, e-Swat, Space Harrier etc. Exciting times for this old, jaded Sega Fanboy.
Speaking of Space Harrier and bringing back old titles I found out recently Yu Suzuki, creator of Space Harrier released a game called Air Twister (so far I noticed it for PS5 and Steam) from his own studio. It kinda feels like a mash up of Space Harrier and _maybe_ Panzer Dragoon in a couple of ways (lock on fire and riding some flying animals.) It's a little low budget and has some weird elements, maybe it was their pitch. Also there's a second more arcade-style game called Asura - The Striker coming on steam as well, there's a demo.
I truly hope Skies of Arcadia is next sometime and gets a full-fledged remake, make QoL improvements like doing away with random encounters and making it that enemy encounters can be engaged on the map, fully orchestrated soundtrack, etc. That game deserves to get love and it deserves to become a full-fledged franchise too.
Shinobi was the best ninja game back then. A bit hard but it was definitely one of those games where you learn the ropes and take time to memorize boss movements. Had the version where you fought Godzilla, Spider-Man , and Batman if I remember?
Yes that's true. I played that one as well. It also had Rambo and the Terminator.😄... I was pissed when they released another version with some of those characters taken out cause they were facing a lawsuit...the equivalent to dlc back then... re-releasing a whole game with an update... I'm sure that was quite expensive to do.😄
Altered beast was always a fun concept but the original game was limited to being an arcade game experience. How it could evolve as a full fledge game with a narrative stages that involve more than its basic gameplay will be something to see. Perhaps the planning for that sequel game has been done since it's inception

I am so excited to see what Sega will bring to the table. What got me to buy a Genesis was Sonic in part, but The Revenge of Shinobi was the one game that I had to buy the console to play this masterpiece. Sure I enjoyed playing Altered Beast, and I get that mentality of not understanding the game. I liked it, but I never did go very far nor finished the game either. I should revisit it or even play the GBA version.
I would love to see some sport and racing titles coming back like Virtua Tennis 5, Virtua Striker 5, Beach Spikers 2 , SEGA Rally 4, Daytona USA 3, Outrun 3 and a new console port of Initial D
I'd like to see Last Bronx and Burning Rangers and other games they've never released here in the States. I remember importing them on my modded system a looong time ago. And also a whole lot of Fighting Vipers.
Great video! I always felt like they could do more with Altered Beast, and I thought Comix Zone deserved a sequel. Then again, if I recall correctly, Comix Zone was released very late in the Genesis lifecycle.
Absolutely. Admittedly, the last one would have benefited from difficulty settings. I grinded through it, but it was so punishing that I feel I should have a trophy for my efforts.
Sega should use this opportunity to come out with a new console. They're capable of supporting it like Nintendo supports its consoles. Plus, they have a ridiculously extensive library to offer in a subscription service. Just make it as powerful as it needs to run it's own 1st party games plus some indie and 3rd party exclusives and it would sell.
Lol their stockholders will NEVER allow it.They will literally immediately vote out any CEO that will attempt to re-enter the hardware market. They still have nightmares about Sega's hardware division collapse two decades ago. That ship has sailed.

I agree about Nights 100 PERCENT! I even like the Wii reboot! Own Nights for my Saturn with the 3D pad in box and the Wii version. I am super excited about them going all out on this.
We need Nights. A ps5 graphic remake or a nights 2 (not the Wii one) with some new levels and same style. Nights is my favourite game (Saturn). Loves the Wii one too.
I really would like for sega to bring out like a modern day dreamcast. Like console that looks like a dreamccast but has the best of dreamcast and saturn on the hard drive. I would hope that the dreamcast games would play natively but a native saturn system in there would be awesome too. I don't see why this wouldn't sell a bunch when bought out before a Christmas. They would be taking a huge gamble with a new current gen console but, I feel like this would be a safe bet.
They could do a mini. Wasn't their a review for a handheld that had the Saturn design to it, costs around $100 USD and could handle Saturn and even DC games? If someone is selling this with a screen for that price, certainly the tech for Saturn/Dreamcast mini is mature and ready.
Sega Said they were open to doing a Mini console but they wanted to work with "the right people" for something as hard to make as a Mini Saturn or Dreamcast. Probably too shell shocked from all those cheap 35 dollar emulator consoles that gave a green light to years back for a quick buck. I wouldn't except *any* of these companies to make something that uses old media, considering how much they keep trying to force digital distribution down our throats.
Altered Beast is one of the games that hasn't aged well. It's a unique side scroller beats them up, but I feel like it's not going to have a massive impact now that we can have more complicated games. I could see the power-up could be a method by which the game could shine, but I'm not sure a 3D game would work; maybe a high-definition 2D game would be best. Eternal Champions was great. I liked it as a fighting game on Genesis, but sadly, I don't care as much for the CD game. Maybe due to loading or not liking newer characters, it just felt like something was missing.

When they showed the recent trailor of the first few new games in the works. I quickly tagged them and commented. Asking abiut are they gonna bring games back like Eternal Champions, Bug!, Virtua Cop, Altered Beast and some others. Really hyped they are dipping back into their older games and make new ones!
I think they could be farming some of the more obscure franchises out to smaller studios to see what they could do with them. We need some more classic RPGs and racing games from Sega. More Dragon Force please
This feels like they're bringing the low hanging fruit first and they will top themselves with each entry in the future. Things like Phantasy Star, Shining Force and even Dark Wizard.
This is so awesome! It is like Sega just woke up and said one morning, "wait a sec, we don't need to make a Dreamcast 2, let's just make the games for it." I can't wait for these.
the teaser they put out gave me 90s sega vibes, pirate tv etc, id love to see Alien Storm come back... 3rd person shooter with some light rpg suff, destructable environents, 90s industrial tunes, massive bosses, alien hoarde mode and of course a Chao garden
My hope is that SEGA gets wise and buys the rights to Armada (Dreamcast) and releases a new version of that. It was hands down my favorite Dreamcast game ever.
What i would love to see (besides the games that already where anounced) is a new phantasy star in the classic games model, imagine one made by atlus. And a new skies of arcadia.

Wow…very exciting, especially if your favorite Sega franchise is Shinobi like it is for me. Crazy Taxi too. Never thought they’d revive it. I hope the trend extends to the Afterburner series.
I wasn't really a fan of Altered Beasts, but I think a new game in 3D could be a lot of fun. You could use different beasts for different situations like a Bear Beast that can find secret places by bashing walls in, a Tiger Beast that can use it's speed to outrun other creatures, an Eagle Beast to fly up to different areas, etc. In terms of Sega library games that could be remade or have a sequel, I would love to see them do something with Dragon Force as that game was so innovative at the time and I'm sure they could through different ideas at it. Also a Sequel to The Legend of Oasis would be brilliant as well.
I’m all in for Altered beast, I grew up playing that game at the arcade when it came out for the first time. Excellent memories I have. They still owe us this game, it was announced years ago in magazines and never came out.
I beat 'Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium' again last night. If SEGA would like to present us with a fifth game, I would be absolutely elated. They could call it "Phantasy Star V: The New Age", as a nod to the ending of the fourth and a continuation of the story as a whole. 😊
They should actually just reboot the series. If they remade Phantasy Star 1-4 in a style like the Star Ocean remasters I think it would pull in 1.5 generations who don't even really know about it.

Sega Rally All-stars! I would love to see SEGA put out an all-in-one HD remake of every track, every car, and every song of every Sega Rally game they've ever made . . . with the Saturn's SRC 1995 physics engine of course. Then follow it up with a Daytona USA All-stars containing Daytona 1, 2, 3, and why not some all new content to top it off.
I would like for Sega to create a shared universe with the Sonic Team IPs. It would be cool to have Sonic, NiGHTS, Ristar, Billy Hatcher, and Amigo interacting with each other in the same universe.
SEGA should release a physical compilation like "Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration" where we get a nice history of SEGA with a good selection of arcade & console games & interviews with the people behind them. Some titles I'd like to see included are "Out Of This World/Heart Of The Alien" for SEGA CD, "D" & "Enemy Zero" for SEGA Saturn, "D2" for SEGA Dreamcast. Kenji Eno's classics need revived & this would be the perfect opportunity. All 5 of SEGA's vector arcade games & other classics like "Pengo" "Pulsar" "N-Sub" "Carnival". SEGA has worked with Digital Eclipse before so hopefully this will happen.
Here hoping for a Phantasy star (numbered) Remaster or a V turn based. And if they patch things up with Camelot games we see the Shining series return to form.

I think the Alex Kidd franchise has future potential. Alex Kidd could work as a 3D Mario like franchise moving forward.

Absolutely...and the key is to make versatile brand named characters that can thrive in just about any situation.
While I was happier with Separate Ways over the main campaign of the recent RE4 Remake release, I'm not happy about Capcom:
1) scrapping the Ada DLC of Village
2) cancelling the Revelations 3 project altogether
3) potentially passing over a Code Veronica remake to rush a 5 remake.
4) making another werewolves/witchcraft- oriented version of Village while merely calling it RE9 Apocalypse.
As an investor & entrepreneur myself, I understand Capcom has to answer to their shareholders....but giving loyal long-time fans what they want is not a bad business decision either.
Sega did have Zombie Revenge which had a 70s B-movie aesthetic to it. Maybe an homage title?
For my part I'd like a new Ristar. But I'm glad they're doing something with Kid Chameleon. It was simply one of the best 2D platformers ever in terms of level design. Pretty cool too to hear about Eternal Champions, especially since its appeal came from its universe and characters, which is easier to port to 3D than other aspects. Overall pretty good news. I don't mind Altered Beast either despite not being a fan favorite.

Eternal Champions...WOW! Love both games and played them a bunch. Thought it had a cool concept that lent itself to a ton of potential combatants and the stories for each character were pretty fleshed out as well. The game play definitely needed more polish, but there was a great foundation there. Seeing the image on the back of the Saturn box for Eternal Champions 3 with "coming soon" underneath it had me pumped to see what a 32-bit version would have been like! The fact that it never happened has always frustrated me, and from time to time I'd search the web for any EC news which always left me dissapointed. The idea that SEGA after all these years could possibly be bringing this franchise back has me feeling like a kid again looking forward to it's possible release...what a great feeling! It's almost as if The Eternal Champion himself traveled to 1995 and saved the game from it's demise and brought it back to this point in time to give it the chance it never had of becoming a celebrated fighting franchise. Super excited to see how this all plays out, and keeping my fingers crossed we get a proper entry into the series!
As someone that has been gaming their entire life, now in my 40's, and plays Sega Saturn more than modern consoles. This is what I have been waiting for! If everything is on the table, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a new Dragon Force or a turn-based Shining game.

Agreed. It's hard to find good tactical grid based battle system games and I was a big fan of Shining Force 2 on the Mega Drive.

I’m interested to see how Kid Chameleon would play out. I’m wondering if it’s a remake or a sequel. I do believe Eternal Champions would be cool though I don’t really know anything about it, I think a different fighting game franchise is a breath of fresh air. But I do think Gunstar Heroes needs a revival or something like Ristar to come back.
Man you got me so excited with that announcement All 3, Eternal Champions, Kid Chameleon, and Altered Beast... I almost cried lol... Kid Chameleon is the one I want to see.. Nights into Dreams would be a great one too, that Wii Version was not my cup of tea but if they go back to the original format then it will be good.

Of this batch, I am most excited at the possibility of Eternal Champions. Underrated underappreciated game that has if anything grown in popularity over the years, strangly. It has aged quite well, even graphically, as a 2D fighter.
Eternal champions on mega drive good memories but I went back and played it and it was bad…. But reinventing these franchises is amazing. Main thing for me is finding a way to please nostalgia and put modern day twist into anything they do whilst giving great gameplay to help it succeed. Really hope works well for Sega!

I think this is great news, and I’m pumped for more Sega classics. Really hope to see a remaster/remake (“Kiwami” version) of Skies of Arcadia. I missed the original and I’d love the chance to play it.
It would be cool to have more depth to something like an ESWAT game or Altered Beast. Like make them 3D and have more story with them.

Never give up, we begged Sega to bring Yakuza 5 to the West, and they finally did (albeit with help from Sony). We wrote letters and kept up the heat for several years. I’m really hopeful, I believe Sega knows people want it. I’ve also heard rumors that the source code was lost, but who knows if it’s true. @@flatcapman

They already made a 3D Altered Beast for the PS2, even though it was more like a survival horror game. It was really cool though.
I enjoyed Eternal Champions on the Sega CD, not as much on the cartridge. I would really love to see Shining Force to return on a turn based tactical on a map grid!
Altered Beast, historically, was a flagship title for Sega. The original Mega Drives/Genesis came bundled with it, so seeing that brought back is good to see. There's so much more that they could do in the future, like Alien Storm, e-Swat, Space Harrier etc. Exciting times for this old, jaded Sega Fanboy.
Speaking of Space Harrier and bringing back old titles I found out recently Yu Suzuki, creator of Space Harrier released a game called Air Twister (so far I noticed it for PS5 and Steam) from his own studio. It kinda feels like a mash up of Space Harrier and _maybe_ Panzer Dragoon in a couple of ways (lock on fire and riding some flying animals.) It's a little low budget and has some weird elements, maybe it was their pitch. Also there's a second more arcade-style game called Asura - The Striker coming on steam as well, there's a demo.

I truly hope Skies of Arcadia is next sometime and gets a full-fledged remake, make QoL improvements like doing away with random encounters and making it that enemy encounters can be engaged on the map, fully orchestrated soundtrack, etc. That game deserves to get love and it deserves to become a full-fledged franchise too.

Shinobi was the best ninja game back then. A bit hard but it was definitely one of those games where you learn the ropes and take time to memorize boss movements. Had the version where you fought Godzilla, Spider-Man , and Batman if I remember?
Yes that's true. I played that one as well. It also had Rambo and the Terminator.😄... I was pissed when they released another version with some of those characters taken out cause they were facing a lawsuit...the equivalent to dlc back then... re-releasing a whole game with an update... I'm sure that was quite expensive to do.😄

Altered beast was always a fun concept but the original game was limited to being an arcade game experience. How it could evolve as a full fledge game with a narrative stages that involve more than its basic gameplay will be something to see. Perhaps the planning for that sequel game has been done since it's inception

I am so excited to see what Sega will bring to the table. What got me to buy a Genesis was Sonic in part, but The Revenge of Shinobi was the one game that I had to buy the console to play this masterpiece. Sure I enjoyed playing Altered Beast, and I get that mentality of not understanding the game. I liked it, but I never did go very far nor finished the game either. I should revisit it or even play the GBA version.
I'm so happy to see them do more than just Sonic. I play more Dreamcast and Saturn games on my home arcade than I do any other system.
I would love to see some sport and racing titles coming back like Virtua Tennis 5, Virtua Striker 5, Beach Spikers 2 , SEGA Rally 4, Daytona USA 3, Outrun 3 and a new console port of Initial D
I'd like to see Last Bronx and Burning Rangers and other games they've never released here in the States. I remember importing them on my modded system a looong time ago. And also a whole lot of Fighting Vipers.
Great video! I always felt like they could do more with Altered Beast, and I thought Comix Zone deserved a sequel. Then again, if I recall correctly, Comix Zone was released very late in the Genesis lifecycle.
I'm not a huge fan of Eternal Champions, but I'd be down for seeing a re-vamp of it. MK and SF need competition.
I loved Eternal Champoins. Not only that but in the UK panini released a sticker collection and sticker album. Maybe it was bigger over here.

Absolutely. Admittedly, the last one would have benefited from difficulty settings. I grinded through it, but it was so punishing that I feel I should have a trophy for my efforts.
Sega should use this opportunity to come out with a new console. They're capable of supporting it like Nintendo supports its consoles. Plus, they have a ridiculously extensive library to offer in a subscription service. Just make it as powerful as it needs to run it's own 1st party games plus some indie and 3rd party exclusives and it would sell.
Lol their stockholders will NEVER allow it.They will literally immediately vote out any CEO that will attempt to re-enter the hardware market. They still have nightmares about Sega's hardware division collapse two decades ago. That ship has sailed.

I agree about Nights 100 PERCENT! I even like the Wii reboot! Own Nights for my Saturn with the 3D pad in box and the Wii version. I am super excited about them going all out on this.
We need Nights. A ps5 graphic remake or a nights 2 (not the Wii one) with some new levels and same style.

I really would like for sega to bring out like a modern day dreamcast. Like console that looks like a dreamccast but has the best of dreamcast and saturn on the hard drive.
I would hope that the dreamcast games would play natively but a native saturn system in there would be awesome too.
I don't see why this wouldn't sell a bunch when bought out before a Christmas.
They would be taking a huge gamble with a new current gen console but, I feel like this would be a safe bet.
They could do a mini. Wasn't their a review for a handheld that had the Saturn design to it, costs around $100 USD and could handle Saturn and even DC games? If someone is selling this with a screen for that price, certainly the tech for Saturn/Dreamcast mini is mature and ready.
Sega Said they were open to doing a Mini console but they wanted to work with "the right people" for something as hard to make as a Mini Saturn or Dreamcast. Probably too shell shocked from all those cheap 35 dollar emulator consoles that gave a green light to years back for a quick buck. I wouldn't except *any* of these companies to make something that uses old media, considering how much they keep trying to force digital distribution down our throats.
Altered Beast is one of the games that hasn't aged well. It's a unique side scroller beats them up, but I feel like it's not going to have a massive impact now that we can have more complicated games. I could see the power-up could be a method by which the game could shine, but I'm not sure a 3D game would work; maybe a high-definition 2D game would be best.
Eternal Champions was great. I liked it as a fighting game on Genesis, but sadly, I don't care as much for the CD game. Maybe due to loading or not liking newer characters, it just felt like something was missing.
If they do a 3D version of Altered Beast like the ps2 version that would be awesome. It’s considered a bit of a hidden gem and released outside of the US
When they showed the recent trailor of the first few new games in the works. I quickly tagged them and commented. Asking abiut are they gonna bring games back like Eternal Champions, Bug!, Virtua Cop, Altered Beast and some others. Really hyped they are dipping back into their older games and make new ones!

This feels like they're bringing the low hanging fruit first and they will top themselves with each entry in the future. Things like Phantasy Star, Shining Force and even Dark Wizard.
This is so awesome! It is like Sega just woke up and said one morning, "wait a sec, we don't need to make a Dreamcast 2, let's just make the games for it." I can't wait for these.

My hope is that SEGA gets wise and buys the rights to Armada (Dreamcast) and releases a new version of that. It was hands down my favorite Dreamcast game ever.
It would have been REALLY cool if they created a new console and made this rise of nostalgia remakes console exclusives.

Wow…very exciting, especially if your favorite Sega franchise is Shinobi like it is for me. Crazy Taxi too. Never thought they’d revive it. I hope the trend extends to the Afterburner series.
I wasn't really a fan of Altered Beasts, but I think a new game in 3D could be a lot of fun. You could use different beasts for different situations like a Bear Beast that can find secret places by bashing walls in, a Tiger Beast that can use it's speed to outrun other creatures, an Eagle Beast to fly up to different areas, etc.
In terms of Sega library games that could be remade or have a sequel, I would love to see them do something with Dragon Force as that game was so innovative at the time and I'm sure they could through different ideas at it. Also a Sequel to The Legend of Oasis would be brilliant as well.
I’m all in for Altered beast, I grew up playing that game at the arcade when it came out for the first time. Excellent memories I have. They still owe us this game, it was announced years ago in magazines and never came out.
I beat 'Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium' again last night. If SEGA would like to present us with a fifth game, I would be absolutely elated. They could call it "Phantasy Star V: The New Age", as a nod to the ending of the fourth and a continuation of the story as a whole. 😊
They should actually just reboot the series. If they remade Phantasy Star 1-4 in a style like the Star Ocean remasters I think it would pull in 1.5 generations who don't even really know about it.

Played Kid Chameleon a ton back in the day. The curiosity of the different characters you could play always led me to just keep going and going.

Sega Rally All-stars! I would love to see SEGA put out an all-in-one HD remake of every track, every car, and every song of every Sega Rally game they've ever made . . . with the Saturn's SRC 1995 physics engine of course. Then follow it up with a Daytona USA All-stars containing Daytona 1, 2, 3, and why not some all new content to top it off.
I would like for Sega to create a shared universe with the Sonic Team IPs. It would be cool to have Sonic, NiGHTS, Ristar, Billy Hatcher, and Amigo interacting with each other in the same universe.
SEGA should release a physical compilation like "Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration" where we get a nice history of SEGA with a good selection of arcade & console games & interviews with the people behind them. Some titles I'd like to see included are "Out Of This World/Heart Of The Alien" for SEGA CD, "D" & "Enemy Zero" for SEGA Saturn, "D2" for SEGA Dreamcast. Kenji Eno's classics need revived & this would be the perfect opportunity. All 5 of SEGA's vector arcade games & other classics like "Pengo" "Pulsar" "N-Sub" "Carnival". SEGA has worked with Digital Eclipse before so hopefully this will happen.
Here hoping for a Phantasy star (numbered) Remaster or a V turn based. And if they patch things up with Camelot games we see the Shining series return to form.
Although Sega didn't develop it, I'd love to see a new Ecco game. Classic Phantasy Star would be fantastic too.
