i know it sounds a little dumb, but do TONS of Wonder Trades! if you're just walking around or even just doing something afk, do Wonder Trades! the system is so quick and fluid in this game. i seriously completed an entire fourth of my dex through Wonder trade alone
one thing i think is really useful is if you want a pokémon with three evolutions, catch the middle evolution, then level it up or use an item to get the final evolution, then breed it for the first. that way u use up way less candies and less time

None of my friends play pokemon and i didn't purchase the nintendo online subscription while playing pokemon violet. and I still (barely) managed to complete my pokedex. I had sworn not to pay a single additional cent after that 60 dollars. I had 2 methods of getting the version exclusives or trade evolutions. Both involve using the Pokémon Home to my advantage. My first method was transferring my pokemon from other games I played, in my case I had only played Shield in prior (and luckily I used to have switch online at that time). This accounted for a chunk of Pokémon, like Scisor, Drifloom, Tyranitar, Hydreigon, etc. The only regular Pokémon I couldn't get this way was Slowking and Palafin (since they're not in sword or shield). For paradox pokemon and box legendaries, I used the Pokemon Home's trading feature. This was pretty straightforward as well, since Scarlet players would also be interested in my violet exclusives. The hardest pokemon for me to get were as I mentioned, Slowking and Palafin, as I had virtually nothing to offer for a trade. After further examination, I realized that some Pokémon were generally used as a currency. Two of these were Gholdengo and Dudunsparce 3 segmented form. After days of checking if gimmighoul chests have respawned, I decided to breed for 3 segmented dudunsparce. It took 2 days to find 2 of them. Then I went ahead and traded them in Pokémon Home. TLDR: if you use Pokemon Home smartly you can get many pokemon you're not able to catch yourself.
When i was completing the pokedex, i did the exclusives first, and moved onto the normal pokemon. i went around the different biomes and caught everything in it. Then at the end i did the special evolutions and trade evos!
And Gallade makes one of the best false swipers because he also gets access to hypnosis. To those wondering, pokemon are easier to catch if they're suffering from a status effect. Sleep and Freeze have the highest bonus multipliers of all the statuses.
I work harder, not smarter, so my ampharos is my pokemon catching expert. He just paralyzes the little buggers and then I just chuck balls at them until I catch em.
Also let me just say: Breloom LOSING ACCESS TO SPORE ON EVOLUTION IS BS. If it's in the current move pool, it'll keep it but if it ever forgets it, it can't ever remember it. Yeah it has access to Stun Spore, but that's wholly inferior for a false swiper. I think Gallade is the only false swiper in this generation that gets a sleep status move.
You can tell what raids they are by the pin purple is pokemon violet and orange pin is scarlet instead of looking at the badges You dont need to trade exclusive if you have 1 with violet and the other with scarlet you can catch each others exclusive..
I don’t know if I’m stupid or something but I got the whole pokedex completed, even counted them one by one. 1 to 400, all here. Even compared with the Pokédex online one by one. Yet the Pokédex tells me I only saw and caught 399. I’m going crazy there !!

When it comes to finding Dittos, if you highlight the pokemon to throw a ball but dont throw it will actually name it as a Ditto or ??? If youve not met one before. Easiest way to find it. Works for others that pretend to be others too, like Zoroark

No not really because you need pokemon that are in the opposite game like if you play violet you need some pokemon from scarlet or if you play scarlet you need pokemon from violet like miradon and koridon

I recommend Austin Johns channel for exclusive Pokémon and there are codes for those and if you are needing to trade Pokémon that requires trading like Scyther with metal coat. Go to link trade and just put “0” and the Pokédex number for it twice and should link you to someone
My method: 1) open Pokédex to see what type of Pokémon i wanna catch 2) pick one lets say iron Pokémon 3) google location then head to the location they are found 4) just look around if I don’t find it oh well 5) mourn that i finished the main quest with turo and never found a shiny

No, Slakoth is the first part of the evolution chain. It's Slaking who's the final evolution. According to the Pokedex and the map, Area Three of the South Province is the earliest place you can find low-level Slakoth. Even though there aren't much trees there, I tried to see if I can find any Slakoth, but they were more rare than I thought after I had three Happiny encounters, and according to the Pokedex, Happiny are supposed to be more rare than Slakoth.

Recent notes are pretty much the Pokémon you’ve caught before. Say, you catch a snorunt. In your recent notes, the Pokémon on the far left would be the snorunt. Pretty much just a “you did this recently”

Hint on quick balls once you have them if the first one fails you can run away re fight and get those higher odd catch rate again

For me it changed to Ditto once I’ve encountered a Ditto despite it not looking like a Ditto physically
