Dude, you are by far one of my favorite gun guys on TH-cam. You remind me of Alot of the friends and leaders that came from the Ranger Batts that taught me and brought me up when I was Active Duty. You are a master of your craft, think outside the box, but got a good sense of humor about things where it makes people comfortable to learn from. Your viewers are truly blessed to have you
I just want to say thanks for the great content. Even though I'm content with my rifle setup I still like seeing your ideas and how you got your stuff setup. I was going to be getting some RNVG's but after watching your DTNVG video and your other good night vision content It was convincing enough and well put together for me to save a bit more for some DTNVG's.
Your requirements define what accessories you attach. Your budget is part of your "requirements." And I have cheaper versions of the same accessories where I need the same accessories. But I still make sure stuff is durable. I run a flash hider instead of a suppressor because I don't have a suppressor yet. I have solid iron sights and a cheap red dot. If I have an issue with the RDS I can switch to irons. I don't have a laser because I can passive aim and I'm saving up for a decent laser. But if you don't have NV, you don't require a laser. I have a 600 lumin white light. It meets my needs. It was like $60? So don't complain that someone has expensive stuff. His gear is required for missions I don't go on. I buy gear for MY missions. Those are MY requirements. For MY context. Define your mission and what you need to get work done. Then define what levels of durability and capability you need. Prioritize and purchase accordingly.
I'd keep it back a bit, probably bezel I line with my rail, but it depends on your rifle and what you can reach. It's going to get filthy too close to the muzzle
Curious about what your the barrel length/gas system/Buffer and spring set up is with that suppressor. Is that an A5 buffer by chance? Currently running a BCM 11.5 with an carbine H2 and Geissele super 42 spring.
@@KineticConsulting awesome. I'm looking into a 12.5 and could not for the life of figure why you'd go brace instead of sbr for your "go to" rifle. Makes sense now that you're waiting for your sbr. Thanks for the reply and keep up the good work.
@@Darkpool79 for a go to rifle I wouldn't use a nfa rifle. More than likely if you use it in a self defense or any other scenario it will be confiscated

Sub'ed. Fantastic channel...you're very knowledgeable with a strong bio. I have worked less with my legacy NV set up (still have a DBAL i2) as I moved more into thermal and hog slaying. Your set-up is impressive with light/laser choices and positioning. Also, I have moved away from lower 1/3 optics and even Scalarworks 1.93" as I press on the stock a little too much in both occasions. I can't find a Unity mount anywhere right now so going poor man's 2.33" ADM until an in stock notification hits. I did see your other video that you had one and liked it, but the Unity does seem better. One question - would you ever go to the Unity FTC magnifier (Aimpoint 6x?) and RDS combo vs an LPVO? The former is quite an intuitive design, and I find an RDS is better at 1x than an LPVO. But you probably have a Kahles or something so the magnifier/RDS would likely be a downgrade lol. Good stuff and glad I found your channel.
Split Fix Straps for SB Tactical Braces.... Look into them. Anyone using a brace should get these split fix straps. It is a game changer, and this way you won’t have to “modify” or do anything to your brace that could potentially trigger the ATF, and/or put you in a position to be fined/arrested. Ps. Fuck the ATF Nice setup!
Just something I've noticed and wanted to point out since you were emphasizing the importance of redundancy with that tail cap. You have your light on the right side as a right-handed shooter. You can't really optimally access that if your switch were to fail. You'd have to break your grip and go awkward af with support hand and reach over to turn it on, and then it's just telegraphing your location bc it's constant-on, so you'd have to do that awkward shit repeatedly to activate/deactivate the light unless you just want to broadcast your location perpetually. If it were on the left side for redundancy, you could actually still use the light without skipping a beat, bc the switch would be right next to your support hand/thumb if the pressure pad failed, and you could also use the constant-on switch as a monetary-on by just toggling it on/of as needed. However, when it's on the left side, then you can't really put the rifle on surfaces (like the hood of a car, for example) bc it wobbles everywhere. Bit of a compromise either way, I went back and forth and tinkered with a few diff setups. Ultimately I decided to just use UE tail caps instead of the DS00. I just throw an extra tail cap in my admin pouch inside of some makeshift shit I made to protect the coils. It would be just as quick as swapping a battery, nothing to panic about. I'm not sure what that guy discussed with you, but if you've lost mobility in 1 arm during a firefight, I don't think I'd be running around trying to use a rifle with 1 hand, I'd just opt for my sidearm/handgun at that point. You can activate the light on your handgun with one hand anyway. Seems the more ideal solution to that hypothetical scenario IMO. Open to a discussion and if you think I'm wrong I'm all ears. You have actual legit experience, but based on what you said it seemed you were in my camp prior to that class where the guy convinced you to run DS00s, but I just don't see the purpose of them if they're going to be on the right side. Even if you're not shot in 1 arm, the only way they'd be feasible is shouldering rifle on your non-dominant side so you can actually access that tail cap.
