    I’m buying a used 2021 sedan in blue crush metallic, which is a little darker than that. I think the black badging will make it look a lot better.

    Thanks for sharing! Always thought the quick detailer leaves a wax/polish finish that would prevent the backout badges from sticking well. Could be wrong.

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasn’t aware of that but it was pouring rain when we were gonna do it so washing it wasn’t an option. Perhaps a wax and grease remover could have been a better choice. Good call!

    • @robertjaent6087
      @robertjaent6087 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right John A. Whenever applying something with double sided tape, as these badges are applied with, you pre clean the surface with rubbing alcohol to get the wax off, Hopefully his badges stay on.

    You can just order these from the dealership??? What about the front emblem as well ??

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep! They don’t do a front emblem blackout from the dealer but I think people have used vinyl to black out the front badge.

    If i install these and decide to remove them after a couple of years just to switch back to the originals. Will it be a pain? Since I'm sure its strong adhesive. Wondering if I try to remove the adhesive and it ends up even taking off the original badges

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I haven’t done anything with the front emblem. I don’t think you would want to cover it though since the sensor for the safety features is right behind it. You can get a replacement with the “C” Corolla emblem from Japan that’s a straight swap.

      Following up, Premium Auto Styling does have a black overlay and according to their website they state that it doesn’t affect the automatic cruise control and safety sense sensor. I haven’t personally tried it though. It is a matte and gloss black overlay.

    Hey man, I’ve got a 2020 SE HB with a MT and I haven’t been able to find a lot of resources for the SE model. Do you by chance know if the suspension parts are cross compatible? Do you know of any aftermarket companies making clutches for these? I drove my car from VA to Alaska and I definitely experiences clutch fade at higher RPM’s going up hills and up the ALCAN. Lastly, do you know of any reliable power mods or a forum where I can get more info for the SE models? I love your car man and I hope you have fun with it!

    I removed my chrome one from the badge itself, so you think I could buy this and put the blackout badge on the emblem without the chrome one? Or should I glue it back on.

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would probably need to put the original badge back on. These are caps that stick on over the top of the original badge.

    Question how long do they stay on, and when you wash your car does it come off?

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They have an adhesive backing that sticks to the original emblems. I’ve had them on for a while now and haven’t lifted or come off at all.

  • @razaqreviews
    @razaqreviews 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you know how to remove the ‘corolla’ badge lol. I planned on doing a little debadging to make it a lil cleaner. Removed my SE badge easily since I didn’t add the black badge (red looked cool) but impossible it seems

    • @Joyrides
      @Joyrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’d need a heat gun, 30 lb. fishing line, plastic razor blade and some auto/paint safe solvent to remove the adhesive residue. AMMO NYC has a great video on debadging on either a metal or plastic surface on a GTR.

      Go to the Toyota Parts website, put in the year/make/model for your Corolla and search "blackout" and it should come up with the part that you can order directly from their website or you can order them from the dealership. It's nice cause it's an official Toyota part.

      A boosted 86 would be a lot of fun. TBH it’s been between a GR86 or a GR Corolla. I happen to need the extra space at the moment but I’ve been tempted by an 86 a lot, especially after driving a Hakone.

    the XSE badge looks like garbage because they didn't cut out the space between the letters. Just looks like a piece of black plastic. And the Toyota emblem looks bad because its black over black, mines well not even have the emblem on there. The black background should have been blue, then the emblem would pop better

  • @girl600show7

    Only saw 1 plastidip & 1 paint em comment. $5, maybe $10 if u want gloss, shop suggested. The product has evolved to where the finish is equal to oem paint or better with pro applications. Pro DYC shops like @ProDipper or of course DipYourCar with Fonzie. I see hideous DIYs dipped wheels often. It peels off luckily.
