How does this compare with the TRD intake-cost, sound, hp, mileage? Last, does adding an intake affect anything else like sensor or computer function readouts? Great job!
This is waaaaaaay better than the trd intakes or filters. Trd still keeps it somewhat stock with minimal gain. There are a few like the 2j intake that sets off censors but from everyone I've read about and my own personal use of this particular intake it doesn't set off any lights. It runs amazing and sounds great!
I don’t understand how the air filter is placed it’s going to be in taking any are effectively? I’m considering to buy this but also making some sort of air flow duct from the oem intake system
Good walkthrough, but question; wouldn't having the filter exposed (vs having the filter nestled in some kind of airbox) allow it to pull in the warm air circulating around the engine bay, thus kind of defeating the purpose of being a CAI?
That's what the heat shield is for. An "airbox" isn't necessarily the best thing for cold air either. It's all about where it's mounted and where the air is collected. This one in particular is fine since the heat shield blocks most of that hot engine air.
Air intake temps are way hotter even with a heat shield. A stock air box does way more insulating than an open filter. I ran one for 2 years with a monitor on the temps and it was always 25-40 degrees hotter. I went back to stock and it was much cooler.
I asked this before I installed mine and was told by the dealer that it would void it for anything related to air intake (so, yes, ultimately). This is easy enough to install/uninstall that if you don't do your own maintenance you can just take it off and return it to factory for maintenance and then replace it once done.
No. Only if something gets damaged and they can prove that the modified part was what caused it. Overall having this on there doesn't void it unless something gets damaged that's caused by this particular part.
Just put the trd filter in place of the stock filter. The trd filter allows for more air flow and is basically the same as adding a CAI. In case you wanted the filter look up info TOYOTA PTR03-1C161
You could just reinstall the stock cold air intake when you bring it back in for warranty work. It’s not like you did an Ecu flash on the car where the dealership techs can see you modified it.
@Thor Odin son hahaha damn dude. I have a 2019 corolla hatchback. Im thinking about doing the trd cai. Also my friend said id get better gas mileage with cai. I thought it would get worse gas mileage?
How freaking lazy or dumb do you need to be to pay someone to install this intake? Make sure you charge him the extra labor for the removal and reinstall of the dealership add-on, flux capacitor. 😅

I added the red filter to mine and it breathes a lot better. I can feel the difference

@@joseph1541 where do you buy it?
The TRD intake is more of a cosmetic mod. It’s virtually identical to the stock intake. It just has a logo on it.
Thanks God this video you done I did it in my corolla 2020...exactly same...thanks Luirros
ahhh thanks sir! hope you have a great week thanks for the support turn the bell on for future videos!

Sound difference from the intake or is it a silent one?
There's sound clips in the video..... Why didn't you watch the whole way thru? haha Thanks! Make sure you are subscribed! a bunch more content!
SPEED INDUSTRY you May have misunderstood. As I’m sure you know some intakes only have a unique sound when they’re in gear and under load. Like k&n’s
@@basket1099 it breathes while sitting it makes sound on and off throttle
