Warrior fans deep down knew that KD was just temporary. If he was willing to leave OKC to the team that beat him after being up 3-1, then nothing is off the table. Steph is iconic, though. Hes the heart of the modern Warriors.

KD wasnt upset about it not being his team. He was more upset with the medias interference in the team trying to put him and Steph against eachother all the time. Like hes said multiple times "it was always KD and the Warriors." For other teams It was always Miamis big 3 or Bostons big 3. Even with the Lakers it was Kobes Lakers not Kobe and the Lakers.

@@stephenasunnamedsource2943 KD wanted to be treated like Lebron when he went back to Cleveland. He felt like his presence on the warrior's was supposed to be similar to lebron taking over for kyrie and then on top they were hand gifted kevin love. Difference was cavs never won a championship and had a young kyrie with no help and bad drafting.
The warrior's had been building the team they had with and without KD and Steph's/warrior's 3pt shooting was becoming bigger than the NBA and after losing in the second finals appearance they basically told KD if you want to join us be our guest but they weren't tripping. They just knew if he was on the team with them they would be unstoppable because they were already dominant without him. You dont get to two finals winning a total of 140 games in back to back years only losing 24 games and then credit KD for everything.
My second biggest saying is that the cavs complained about not being healthy despite jumping to a 2-1 lead and then when healthy complained about having KD or guarding 3 all stars.

I can understand that KD was second place to Steph, because Steph was a "local" guy. KD never spent the time to bond with the community the way Steph had over the years. And also, Steph was a more approachable player, because he is only 6' 3" and has a more pleasant personality and is more physicially relatable to the guy on the street. That being said KD did everything that people asked him to do to set up his rep at Golden State. He stepped in and was finals MVP twice and played great defense, when a lot of commentators and players were calling him soft and waiting for him to choke when called on in the finals or to include elite defense in his game.
So KD did great in Golden State. I am sure he cemented being a first ballot HoF and one of the 3 or 4 best small forwards in the history of the game, and probably the best all-around player in the NBA during his time there, but in this book he is being his usual, uncomprehending, dissatisfied self.

Mikeman Jordan “was not gonna get over the hump without him” ? THEY WON THE TITLE A YEAR BEFORE HE JOINED! That’s considered getting over the hump lol. The warriors got KD over the hump lol. And when KD went down last year in the semifinals the warriors had a great chance against Toronto until Klay got injured. All KD did was take a team that was already title contenders and made them impossible to beat. KD wasn’t a necessity for the warriors he was a luxury. That’s like if Kobe joined the Boston Celtics in 2008 after they beat him in the finals lol

This narrative is so silly. “Durant came and took Steph’s team”
It’s basketball, a team sport. Before Steph and the Warriors when KD had his own teams he lost too. He blew a 3-1 lead that same year. It’s really okay guys, that’s why we love watching basketball, because teams can go on runs and win games/ series we never expected them to. Let’s stop trying to take away from these guys’ greatness and put them against each other like this. Guys act like Steph didn’t average 27,9,8 and 27, 6, 7 in those finals with the Cavs all in on stopping him. “KD gave Steph two championships”. What??? Steph didn’t give KD any chips either btw, they won them together as teammates because they both played well.
These guys are silly. Just old and silly with their narratives. The way basketball is covered is abysmal. Instead of appreciating what Steph and KD did together and how pivotal they were to each other’s careers at the moment it happened, they constantly try to pit them against each other, and to what end? My thing is their accomplishments about balance out and their failures do too.

Durant is one of my favorite players but as a person when he's not playing basketball he has character flaws. He shouldn't have made the statement even though it is probably true. Durant was the most valuable player in the league in the first year he was with Golden State because he accepted less money allowing Golden State to retain Igoudala and Livingston.

Actually Steph was the MVP their first year together. Peeps forget that KD got hurt late in that season and the Warriors went on a crazy winning streak to end the 17 season without KD. Also since KD joined GS the warriors have a .800 winning percentage with KD out and Steph playing. And they are barely over .500 when KD plays and Steph is out. KD is the better player but Steph is clearly the MVP of GS.

Parker was reached a new low. To say they "begged" KD to join the team is just personal prejudice. He has no idea what went down when the parties met. To say that Curry is a "choker" is such a horrible take. One bad final for Curry? So what. Look at his career overall. His record is fantastic. That the local press favors Curry is fairly predictable. He was drafted there and KD was a "Carpet Bagger". He joined the train to win. The train was already well down the tracks. He won. Shut up and act like an adult. Has Rob Hater read KD's tweets on that burner account? He sounds like a spoiled teenager. Read those quotes and still tell me you back KD. He is acting like a child. Did Jeter react to stupid people? No. Do the vast majority of athletes know not to engage the mouth breathers that tweet drivel? Yes. This is the single worst take Rob Hater has ever had, and he has had some ridiculous takes. For a Colombia man this take is so shallow your feet will not even get wet. Just a "sensational" take for the sake of hearing himself talk. Rock on Chris! Keep telling Rob Hater he is a windbag.

Steph is the reason why players like Damian lillard and James harden shoot the type of shots they do now without getting pulled out the game. And I never said steph won by himself. I’m saying steph raised the bar on how other guards played

    • @jaydot4956

      @jaydot4956 4 ปีที่แล้ว

ATL 1 i never said people haven’t been shooting 3s but look at the nba before 2015 when steph emerged and how people play now. Guard’s weren’t shooting the type of shots they are shooting now because they would get yanked out the game. Steph raised the bar to the point where other players had to step up there shooting game to keep up. And how many superstars/all stars are in the game? Not many. So if steph can influence 3-4 current all star players then imagine his influence on the next generation (for example trae young)

I’m not arguing that guys like Gilbert arenas weren’t 3 point snipers but the bottom line is he didn’t win a championship and was never a league mvp. Winning the title is the difference. Steph and the warriors winning the title in 2015 then winning 73 games the following season is what opened flood gates for the whole league to shoot more 3s to keep up with them.

Does anybody actually watch the NBA Finals? Here's Curry’s Finals averages...
    -28 games, 26.5 PPG, 6.2 APG, 5.8 RPG, 1.5 SPG
Last year, he averaged 30.5 PPG, 6.0 APG, 5.2 RPG, & 1.5 SPG against Toronto with them playing a "box & 1" on him. More importantly, defenses gravitate towards Curry and leave his teammates wide open, which is why they went 73-9.
The Warriors move the ball and create multiple mismatches. Their chemistry wins them games. In OKC, opposing teams could leave Russell Westbrook and/or Andre Roberson to double KD, but teams are afraid to do Steph/Klay that on their worst day. That’s why KD got opportunities that he didn’t get in OKC, which resulted in his two Finals MVPs. Regardless of how good Curry is, he’d be a fool to hog the ball and not attack mismatches with KD. It’s no different than Curry shaking centers who get caught trying to defend him along the perimeter off the switch.
It was never “KD’s team.” He was just a glorified insurance policy, which he should’ve known before going there.

Griffin did LeBron AND the Pelicans a huge solid.

@@AuraDivinity nar he didnt he had no choice at the time ad was tied up and he knows how to play his cards and when to play them he knows the stigma around his name but I don't blame him for it that should be natural wanting to win big for as long as u can

They needed KD cause he can go toe to toe with LeBron. Him and Kobe could match up. Kawhi and Giannis.. ..remains to be seen......
