    After watching many J-series videos, I have seen how hard it seems to be to get good angles and footage while working on these. Excellent job on the camera work, easily the clearest visuals and explanations I’ve seen so far

    Just did the valve cover gaskets on my 2003 Odyssey. Pro tip - go OEM on gaskets, had to replace Amazon crap after only a few thousand miles. Don’t save your money here, you’re already saving by doing the work yourself.

    I'm a complete novice here trying to keep my '05 Accord running. 297K miles. I've already done several repairs using 'TH-cam University', but I have an oil leak that's getting the best of me. I'm going to try my (small) hand(s) at attempting these three areas with your help and crazy-thorough advice. Your one-handed camera angles, and lightning, are SO appreciated! I've watched other videos that left me with more questions than answers because I couldn't see what they were talking about, and wasn't familiar with it, not being a mechanic. I'm learning, and I want to thank you for posting videos like this to help me keep my car running. I'll be sure to let you know how things turn out. 👍🏻

    My TL has been leaking so far I’ve done intake manifold gasket, spark plug o rings, v Tec solenoid seal, that oil filter housing seal, oil pressure switch o ring, and I still have a leak! Gonna check the egr area now thanks for the video

    • @114RIDES
      @114RIDES  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks for checking us out. Really look good and check the rear valve cover gasket, that’s a sneaky one as well. What side is the oil dripping Pass / Driver?

    • @Arnolschuachenegga
      @Arnolschuachenegga 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      114 RIDES checked the egr area no leaks, I also did my the rear valve cover gasket. The oil accumulates on the the bottom of the oil pan and on the bottom of the transmission area it is not much maybe about a few drops of oil everyday. My fear is that it is coming from the rear main seal or the oil pump. I finally have more time I am determined to find the leak

    • @114RIDES
      @114RIDES  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ace my only other suspicion would be a new oil pan drain bolt with washer, oil pan gasket, or potentially the crank shaft seal / rear main. Good luck keep me up-dated.

    Words of advice. Don't put synthetic in an older Honda with over 100k miles it will eventually leak out of the valve cover gaskets. It's not worth the trouble. Also always use the recommended weight that the manufacturer shows on the oil fill (i.e. 5w-20)

    Best video I’ve seen vet seen you are amazing, I have a 2005 ex accord v6 , my low oils sensor comes on and off, I replaced the oil , did a engine slug flush, added Lucas oil stabilizer, but I’m still having sound sounds which I would describe like a slow ticking, rattling , but not terrible, I think it’s a faulty oil pressure sensor Switch, I do have a nice old oil built up next to the sensor above the oil filter housing, but I don’t have any leaks atm , would you recommend me change the oil pressure sensor? Would that help , please if you get to read this let me know I would
    Love to hear your advice, one last note I wanna make, engine runs good but with those sounds I explained above and also seems like it’s like a misfire sound, I have you got all that, please let me know what you think, thanks and god bless

    I have a 2002 acura mdx. It doesn't leak any oil when i have it just running in the driveway. But when i jack the front of the car up high enough to get both wheels off the ground. it starts a steady drip of oil on the ground on the back driver side right by the inner tie rod is as far as i could follw it up for right now. Could see where it had run down the back side of the engine by the inner tie rod but couldn't find it after that. Any ideas?

    • @114RIDES
      @114RIDES  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Double check the valve cover in the rear first. It could be leaking there and pooling up in a groove. Your best bet is to scrub the engine down with some simple green, wipe the area you think the oil may be coming from and keep an eye on it.
      Also check your oil level frequently to see how much it’s consuming. Are you positive it’s engine oil? Let me know how you make out.
