Hi I live in Aldeburgh all my life Thorpeness was a great place to fish but over the last 10 years or so the crag and rocks have uncovered with the erosion of the beach and the sand has gone so very snaggy from the old winch to the point beach much towards Aldeburgh but not round the sluice same problem Aldeburgh town beach has been fishing very well over the last week plenty of which dabs you and Rockling iv have fish with smoked herring at sizewell just up the road with some success Tight lines
I have heard since this video the erosion has become bad round there now, apparently there is a lot of sandstone now showing around that area. I might be heading town beach way soon to target the dabs!! Thank you for watching and commenting 🎣🎣🎣🎣
You can guarantee that if your fishing on an empty beach ,if they come down swimming or with the dog, they will end up right where your fishing 😂.tight lines
No natural predators on this coastline here as well, the population is exploding with no control!! The kippers are feshish vacuum packed mate, i prefer getting the freshest ones off the fishmonger but these were all I could grab.
@MattCroweAngling222 The Flounder fishing in Poole Harbour has suffered even around the nursery area's the seals have been seen. About 6 years ago they released some Seals into the harbour they thought it would be good for the environment totally ruined the harbour and hardly any flounders caught. I could go on about it more Matt but it's to late. I hope you had a good Christmas.
So happy you’re back posting your vids, so much info to glean from. Best by far on TH-cam 😊 keep em coming 😊🎉❤
Cheers mate 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

Well done Matt. Going to try them on the whiting. 👍👍🐟
Give it a go mate, cheap bait and they should love it 🎣🎣🎣
Great video, very well presented. Keep it up my friend. Tight lines for 2025. Subbed 👍
Thankyou for that mate, happy new year 🎣🎣🎣
Never tried Kippers before, interesting. Thanks, Matt.
Thanks mate, hope you had a great Christmas 🎣🎣
Liked and subscribed great video mate 👍 👌
Cheers mate, much appreciated 🎣🎣🎣
I have used bacon rind for flatties with good success.
I have heard of this in the past for bass but not flatties!! I may have to give this a go. Cheers mate.

@lesedwards936 it's always the way mate 🎣🎣
Good to get out and try out new baits, rigs and tackle. Main thing is you're out and enjoying the fishing. Thanks for sharing, tight lines in 2025.
Cheers mate, same to you too 🎣🎣
Can’t believe you didn’t get a whiting Matt, reckon the seals have had them as well as the flatties. Loving the new channel.
Cheers mate, i reckon those seals are mopping up a heck of the a lot of fish around the aldeburgh area at the minute
Problem with seals here in ireland. They use to be hunted for blubber but its iillegal now.
Are those kippers fresh kippers or frozen ones ???

Liver is a great bait too.
I've used liver to great effect for whiting but never flats!! I'll be giving this a go very soon. Thanks mate 🎣🎣🎣
Great video mate do you think plaice will take it?
I'd say tipping off some worms with a small sliver could work, I've never tried it by itself. I'll be giving it a go and seeing if it does though 👌👌🎣🎣
Try Southwold plenty of dabs at the moment
Might head that way next mate
For some reason I fancy a smoked kipper my mother cooked me one under the grill nrly 50 years ago 😂
🤣🤣 enjoy it mate 🎣🎣🎣
To be honest the Seals around that area now has made the fishing Poor 😕 i think there should be a Cull on them i no it's harsh but to many now.
Totally agree, unfortunately too many people think they're oh so cute and fluffy.

I agree with you culls should take place, same for some birds etc but I usually get blocked on my views via face book etc.
What about a cull on the super trawlers🤔
You better eat those kippers yourself , even that socalled superbaid does not do it's job does it ? 😂😂🤣🤣👎👎👎👎
If it can catch one fish on this coastline it's doing its job 🤣🤣
