Good effort fella, i have fished Norfolk beaches for 40 years, then the seal colony at Blakeney expanded tor Horsea, and the Cod fishing disappeared. So we started coming to Dunwich , Minsmere, Aldbrough, and Orford, just to catch Cod. Now the seals are at The Ness and surprise surprise the Unicorn has disappeared, we need some Orca to come and thin them out before we see good fishing again, good luck with your efforts 🎣👍🏼🍻
We used to do the drive up to the towers fishing was fantastic then they shut the gate I used to fish on the island with the safe harbour sea anglers in the 70s it was just another fantastic place to finish we would start the night with two rods very quickly go down one as you could not keep up with it. Love the video bring back memories.
Nobody said it was going to be easy to get that codling Matt. Fond memories of fishing the island in the 60s and 70s with the Safe Harbour sea anglers, Ralph Brinkley taking us across and picking us up on the Sunday morning. Colossal catches of cod. Those were the days. We won’t see the likes again unfortunately. Still, carry on with the “unicorn” hunt, we’re with you all the way 🐟.
Crazy walk to the aerials and even worse coming back with buckets of cod. Eventually got into Orford Ness AC then the cod disappeared so never got to drive it. Well done fishing there Matt.
Hey hey Matt nice to see you back on the beach last time I saw you was land guard when a had a 5lb bass . Fished with you and Karl a few time on the ness , nice upload , codon (keith) 9lb super sure you were they with us
Fished there once after reading it's one of the best cod venues in the county had one small cod man next to me had a few must have been a seriously long walk without the ferry
Mate there's to many now don't get me wrong they are great to see but the effect they have on the fishing . IV seen them from bawdsy to past croma not great . Fair play for giving it a good go
When we were kids along seapalling waxham in the seventies we would spend hours collecting huge piles of wood plastic everything we found and that would be loads and get a big bonfire going never see that amount of wood now
I've heard there are a couple of local seal sanctuaries releasing rescued seals there that are almost tame due to being hand fed for weeks. They think you are their meal ticket 🤷🏻♂️
Oh dear, won’t be too long before shingle street and east lane are killed off by the seals, must say that this year I’ve seen more seals on the beach at Felixstowe than ever before, we’re doomed
Years ago when there wasn’t as many wokes and do Gooders around and there was a cull on, the fishing all around the coast wa# a lot better. To many seal sanctuary in my eyes what was wrong with survival of the fittest
Wr have one of the biggest seal colonies in Europe. All they do is slip over the beach into horsey mere and they are into the broads where they are wrecking the fishing. They are inland as far as beccles. As you say the chris packham brigade are ruining the countryside.
Great place mate remember chasing u up there years ago haven’t been up there for a few years how still love the place tho fish better in the spring summer now great video keep it up

@andrewsmall1746 I was in onac for a while but its the same as you, the cod disappeared so hardly made use of my membership
Such a shame bud , but happy memories of the overnighters at the lighthouse - at least you got your steps in ! 👍👏👏👏👊
I think I've got fitter in my old age mate, the walk up was a breeze!!
@ better than that heat when we all went over - thank god for ice cold lager !
Great video again buddy 🎉🎉😊
Cheers mate 🎣🎣🎣
Nice to see you sea fishing again Matt.
Thank you michael, I just needed some time away from it tbh. But the fishing bug always comes back.

Used to fish Orford island 35 years ago Mega, cod a chuck 👍
If only it was like that now 🎣🎣
@@MattCroweAngling222Bloody shame 🙈
Good to see you again mate, hope you are well 😄
I'm good mate thanks, hopefully you're well too
@MattCroweAngling222 well I've had a stroke, so no more fishing for me 😢

To get to this spot it is about a 45 minutes yomp from aldeburgh 🎣

did u see much/any driftwood along there?
Hi Barry, no unfortunately lately not, tbh the beach was a lot cleaner than I've seen it in the past. Not much of anything there tbh.
When we were kids along seapalling waxham in the seventies we would spend hours collecting huge piles of wood plastic everything we found and that would be loads and get a big bonfire going never see that amount of wood now
@@MattCroweAngling222 cheers for the info!

That makes a lot of sense as to why they were coming to me then!!
When i see seals i consider moving to a different spot down the coast. The fish definitely disappear when the seals come.
Apparently these seals are popping up as far down as the town beach now ... not good for fishing in that area.
looks weird without the Lighthouse in the background
It certainly does mate. It was Such a shame when that went.

@mickcoleman9630 I was thinking to myself that shingle street will definitely be next for the seal invasion mate.
@ are you on WhatsApp 🤔

I totally agree with every thing you just said mate 🎣🎣

Face the camera when you're talking to people. I could only watch you for about 2 minutes.
Taken on board mate 🎣
@MattCroweAngling222 i take that back
I watched the rest of the video. I enjoyed your enthusiasm, regardless of those seals trolling you!!!!
@faloari the seals were having a great time winding me up 🤣🎣🎣
