- Outdoor fabric spray paint sounds like the perfect way to update outdoor cushions, pillows, and umbrellas for cheap. But how well does it really work? And does it leave everything feeling stiff and crunchy? I'm sharing all the details of how to use this paint along with an honest review of the good AND the bad.

As a trained painter and varnisher, I would like to give you the tip to spray in the "cloister". So spray, turn 45 degrees and spray again. That way it will be more even.
Thank you for the video.
I'm German so I only know it as the "Kreuzgang".
Thank you so so much for doing this video! I have some old outdoor chairs in great shape, but the cushions are…bad. I couldn’t even FIND replacement cushions of the same style/size, so this is a great alternative to buying all new chairs!
Beautiful art
Pretty excited to try this versus buying all new furniture! How did it hold up? We're in a pretty punishing climate with heat and salt air.
Thanks for this. Does it smell like spray paint after it dries? Have you had any issues with paint transfer to clothes or other fabrics?
Thanks for Making.
You're welcome
Good video, pleasant voice, beautiful eyes! ( not to be weird ie the eyes) I have been searching what to do about faded , worn patio cushions. Absolutely right about the cost of new cushions, it's cheaper to buy a whole new patio set. Craziness! Wish I could sew better! TY for the info
So glad it was helpful! Also, thank you for the compliment! :)
I think I "outweirded" you because I complimented her pretty feet!
Does it wear off on clothes at all? Since the video how has it held up in the sun and has it been exposed to rain at all? Lol, I really want to paint the fabric on my hammock but I'm so nervous!
I've had no issues with it wearing off on clothes. It has held up well. Definitely go for it! :)
How many cans for two top and bottom chair cushions? Does it tell you anything as a guide on the back on the can?
Hello. It is tough to say exactly how much as I don't know the cushions you are starting with, but I used I used 1.5 quarts of paint and about 5 small bottles of fabric medium for my project. It's always best to have a bit extra for any touch ups. Hope that helps!
@@LovelyEtc thank you 😊
😌👍🏻
Has anyone tried putting a design over it with acrylic paint. I’m wondering because I want to repaint the fabric from out collapsible wagon from academy. It’s faded. I want to repaint it with the spray paint then stencil a castle and her name with acrylic. I just don’t know if it will stick and no one has a video painting a wagon
Just make sure to use the outdoor paint recommendations listed and that should work with a sealer. Good luck!
Can I use this on outdoor pr
Can I use
I used outdoor fabric spray so it is safe for outdoor use. Just be sure to buy the right kind. 😀
Can I use this on synthetic outdoor cushion covers that are removable, they hv zippers, they r washable but cream color they need to be darker color
You should be able to paint them, but be sure to use the right paint for your fabric.
Nice job! And you have very pretty feet as well !
Thanks 😅
@@LovelyEtc You're welcome! Anyway, I just finished painting eight wicker furniture cushions with the Rustoleum Red Fabric paint. I did the edges and the fronts of each cushion (not the backs) with one thin coat, and then a final coat after waiting for an hour. I did them all with four cans and had two cans left over from the six-pack. Thanks for giving me the incentive to try it!
can hardly hear you.
Hmmm...I haven't had any complaints about the sound, maybe it was a glitch?
