OMG‼️ They look INCREDIBLE! I have never seen it done with a brush and a roller before. I love the shade of green also… They turned out beautiful… And I do love the background of the Buffalo Check peeping through. Just a peep though. Turned out Perfect. 👍🏽
Aww thank you so much!! It is still one of my favorites because I truly wasn’t sure how it would turn out and I loved them so much! 💕 Thanks for being here
They look amazing but I can't help thinking if you had bought them as two green leather chairs, you would have wanted to upholster them to a stunning black and white check fabric😮❤
I have painted dining room chairs and they came out sooooooo good that I was amazed and it transformed the whole space ! Thanks for your encouragement and tutorial!
That’s so doggone CUUUTE!! No, thank YOU for sharing this! I was just looking for fabric paint for two chairs I have! This is PERFECT!! You did a fantastic job! ❤
The legs need more gold. There r brown undertones coming through. I would have painted the legs with a good metallic paint. Otherwise , the chair turned out well.
How has the paint held up all these months later?? Found 2 matching chairs on pickup day and had the same idea. Plan on giving them to my daughter with 2 toddlers
I have seen people paint lightly textured material and it looked beautiful! That may have to be what I try next 🥰 Can’t wait to hear if you try it out!
That’s a great idea 💡 I have thought about taking some old rugs to do that but haven’t yet! I’ll have to take my dirty pieces now too!! Thanks for being here and sharing! ☺️
I've had it for 6 months now and it's held up really well and has gotten a lot of use - it's definitely a pleather feel so less soft, but still durable!
I'm a bit confused, I checked the Beyond Paint website and nowhere does it list fabric as something that it covers. The chair looks good, very leathery, but how has it held up to sitting on and pet fur and vacuuming, cleaning etc.??
Hey!! So glad you are here! I think you can definitely paint it but you may have to do extra coats to cover the red. :) Can't wait to hear how it goes!
I did not use a primer.. just the paint and Sealant (this was from beyond paint also) If you purchase online , you can use the code AUTUMN for a discount 💕
Wont the paint just start crackling on the seat cushion after being used a couple times? Does this brand of paint stay malleable indefinitely, to allow some give?
I was so pleasantly surprised with how well these held up. The water, and sanding is key and following it up with a sealant helped as well. Honestly no cracks yet!! 🤞🏻🙌🏼🤞🏻
@@TheFlippersGuide That is very interesting. Does it have a rubbery/"pleathery" feel to it after all this time? In any case, the concept of painting fabric has kind of interested me since my former car's seats got sunbleached; I just could never bring myself to really do it 😭
I am wondering, a year later - do they still look good or is the paint cracking? I am asking because I am wanting to paint a chair and I am undecided whether to go for the leathery look with undiluted paint or just dyeing the fabric with watered down paint since there is no pattern on it.
I actually just gave them away when we moved because I no longer had my studio but at that point they were 7 months post paint and no cracks or chipping at all!!! 😍🙌🏼
It feels like a pleather. I probably wouldn’t do it to a living room couch where you lounge but it’s a perfect solution for chairs or loungers that are used less.
You could still see the buffalo check on the back side when you put the sealer on. And yes, another coat of gold on the legs. The dust cover on the bottom could have been removed a lot better. So, fail from me. 👎

🤣 These were painted that color to match my studio and the florals on the wallpaper. But I did love the buffalo check, it was just tooooo rough! 💕
I think this might be my fave upholstery paint job I've seen yet!! The finish is totally leather-looking!! Mission accomplished.
Aww thanks Deanna! That means a lot 💚🥰💚
I am shocked on how good they look! And they do look like leather! Great looking chairs, great inspiration!
Thanks so much! Isn’t it crazy? And they’ve held up which makes it even better 🙌🏼
Love that you saved the land fill a little bit! Good job!
Thank you so much ❤
So good Autumn!!! Those chairs look amazing. Like leather!! Loving the GREEN 💚
Thank you Sarah! I couldn't believe how well they turned out!! They are a new fave for my studio 💕💕💕💕

Gorgeous ! I'm in love with them2.
Thank you! 😊
Pretty color, too!
💚💚💚
That was pretty awesome. I wonder if this works on all frabrics.
Thank you! I have done it on a thicker textured fabric also and it worked great 😍
I have painted dining room chairs and they came out sooooooo good that I was amazed and it transformed the whole space ! Thanks for your encouragement and tutorial!
I was absolutely so surprised with how well it went and how well they help up as well 💕💕💕 So glad you tried it out!!
I love that green no buffalo check showing the chairs look amazing ❤
Thanks so much!
Buffalo check definitely shows through.
So far my favorite upholstery painted chair
This makes my day!!
Great result!
Thank you! It was such a fun surprise at

That’s so doggone CUUUTE!! No, thank YOU for sharing this! I was just looking for fabric paint for two chairs I have! This is PERFECT!! You did a fantastic job! ❤
You are so sweet! I’m so glad you are here!! Be sure to share if you try it!! ❤
These look so good!!!
Thank you so much 💚💚💚 It’s so much more simple than you would expect 😍
Absolutely beautiful!
Seems similar to FMP (Fusion Mineral Paint). Self-levelling and is great for painting furniture or just about anything.
Yes it is very similar, although I have noticed with some fusion paints I have to use a thinner because it shows brushstrokes if you aren’t careful
What a transformation!
thank you ❤❤❤
The legs need more gold. There r brown undertones coming through. I would have painted the legs with a good metallic paint. Otherwise , the chair turned out well.
I actually did go back and add another layer of gold ❤
wow that looks great i love the green and the tacks you did a great job
oh yay, thank you so much!! I’m going to be doing another painted chair makeover again soon so be sure to keep an eye out 😍
Omg those chairs are beutiful!!!
Thank you so much!!!
Whoa that is amazing!! Great job!
Thank you Kara!! I was a little nervous at first but absolutely love them!! 💚💚💚
Love love love the color! I have a couple chairs will be doing this on. Did your neighbors want their chairs back, lol?
I’m in love with this color as well 😍Ha she actually did want to come see them after 😂
Looks fantastic. Great colors ❤
Aww thank you so much!! Can you believe the difference?!?! 💕
No, you were right to keep going until the check was not visible. Great job, can't wait to try it on my furniture!
Thank you!! I was a little worried! So glad it worked out 💕 Can’t wait to hear if you try it!!
Very impressive!!
Thanks so much!! ☺
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊 I had fun trying this!! Going to redo another chair soon with textured material so I’ll be sure to share 🥰
That's really cool
Thanks!! And what's nice is that it's pretty simple as well!! 💚
NICE!!! Looks so good!!
Aww thank you!!
well done! Love it! Got inspired to try it! ❤
Yay! Thank you! So glad!! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
This is an amazing before/after! 😱
Thank you!! Absolutely in love with my new chairs 💚💚💚
How has the paint held up all these months later?? Found 2 matching chairs on pickup day and had the same idea. Plan on giving them to my daughter with 2 toddlers
I have the same question. Seems to me that once the paint and finish are cured, it will just crackle and fall off after being sat on 🤔
It held up soo beautifully! No chips or cracks. Ive used them many times and have shown minimal wear 😍
Looks awesome!
Thank you!! 💚 I was super impressed!!
Amazing job!👍
Thank you! 😄
Autumn! Wowza❣️❣️❣️ these turned out beautifully ❣️great job. You gave me a spark of inspiration.😘 -Jill
Thank you Jill!!! So glad! If you try it you will have to share!! 💕
Love how they came out! I plan to do this someday. Now to figure out which furniture I can transform! Does this work on textured material?
I have seen people paint lightly textured material and it looked beautiful! That may
have to be what I try next 🥰 Can’t wait to hear if you try it out!
I love it!❤
Thank you!! It’s a fun technique to try!! 💕
I love it .
Thanks so much!!
I take my pieces to the car wash to clean them . Works great make sure it’s a sunny day . Takes a while to dry
That’s a great idea 💡 I have thought about taking some old rugs to do that but haven’t yet! I’ll have to take my dirty pieces now too!! Thanks for being here and sharing! ☺️
@@TheFlippersGuide remember how heavy things get wet , if u take rugs bring some muscle lol
ooh that’s a good thought!! Didn’t even think about that 😳
This looks amazing. But how did you get the paint off the studs? I have a chair I desperately want to paint but so nervous I'm going to mess it up
Good question, I used a little bit of nail polish remover and the gold rub n buff covered a lot as well 💕💚
Whoa!
✨🤩✨ isn’t is a crazy transformation??
I wonder how this would last and if it woul be durable or more decorative
I've had it for 6 months now and it's held up really well and has gotten a lot of use - it's definitely a pleather feel so less soft, but still durable!
I'm a bit confused, I checked the Beyond Paint website and nowhere does it list fabric as something that it covers. The chair looks good, very leathery, but how has it held up to sitting on and pet fur and vacuuming, cleaning etc.??
I was one of the first people to use it on cloth and it has held up amazingly!! I have done three chairs now ☺️💕
How much paint did you use? Genuinely love these
Hi!! Thank you, I used a quart of paint 💚
Awesome job! Love it!❤
Thank you! 😄
Have you tried a organic paint? For example ECOS Paint or a lime wash paint
I have tried organic paint, but not for painting material. I also love the recycled up paint from Michael’s too.
Are the painted seats comfortable to sit on?
they feel like a pleather, not scratchy but not soft like an upholstery
Hello I'm watching you from Egypt I love your work. I want to ask you can we paint a dark red sofa with late color
Hey!! So glad you are here! I think you can definitely paint it but you may have to do extra coats to cover the red. :) Can't wait to hear how it goes!
Is it possible to paint a dark sofa fabric into a cream color ?
I think you can for sure, but it’s just going to take a lot more paint coats 🤷🏼♀️
Ficou muito lindo 😍👏👏👏 parabéns 🇧🇷🌻
Muito obrigada 😊
what concealer did you use?
I did not use a primer.. just the paint and Sealant (this was from beyond paint also) If you purchase online , you can use the code AUTUMN for a discount 💕
Did u sand after each coat?
Yes I did ☺️
Wont the paint just start crackling on the seat cushion after being used a couple times? Does this brand of paint stay malleable indefinitely, to allow some give?
I was so pleasantly surprised with how well these held up. The water, and sanding is key and following it up with a sealant helped as well. Honestly no cracks yet!! 🤞🏻🙌🏼🤞🏻
@@TheFlippersGuide That is very interesting. Does it have a rubbery/"pleathery" feel to it after all this time?
In any case, the concept of painting fabric has kind of interested me since my former car's seats got sunbleached; I just could never bring myself to really do it
😭
Thank you for sharing, one question, do you have to sand it too after sealing it?
Thanks!
Hi! I did a light sanding of 600-1000 grit after ☺️
I am wondering, a year later - do they still look good or is the paint cracking? I am asking because I am wanting to paint a chair and I am undecided whether to go for the leathery look with undiluted paint or just dyeing the fabric with watered down paint since there is no pattern on it.
I actually just gave them away when we moved because I no longer had my studio but at that point they were 7 months post paint and no cracks or chipping at all!!! 😍🙌🏼
I think both techniques are good. Just really work light and slow and layer with sanding in between and it will help a lot ☺️
Can you share the total formula and name of the paint with detail in text.
Yes it is linked in the description 💕👍
Does it feel like leather now? Just seems this wouldn't be viable for a daily couch
It feels like a pleather. I probably wouldn’t do it to a living room couch where you lounge but it’s a perfect solution for chairs or loungers that are used less.
How do they feel?
They actually feel really smooth!! Feels like a faux leather “pleather” 😂
No cracking over tome?
Why didn't you just spray down the chairs with the water hose?
Texas heat would have dried it too fast and if I soaked it, I didn't want the water sealed in the cushion below the paint and creating mold
Great, show it as it wears, 6 months. 1 year etc...
Will do!!
I believe a paint brush would have saved more paint
What I liked about the roller is that it keeps my layers thin so I don’t end up with a rough paint feel surface ☺️
Gilded not ‘Golded up”…..
Potato… Potahto 😂
You could still see the buffalo check on the back side when you put the sealer on. And yes, another coat of gold on the legs. The dust cover on the bottom could have been removed a lot better. So, fail from me. 👎
🤷🏼♀️ that’s okay, I just actually painted another chair on my channel, and I actually love it even more! Be sure to to go check it out 💕
Yeah they do look good however I still prefer to upholster them rather than painting. Those chairs deserved to be upholstered.
Well they came out of a dumpster so I’m just glad they aren’t in a landfill ☺️
Talk about crimes against chairs! 🙈🤭😵😝🇬🇧
I mean if you pull them out of the trash and save them from a landfill it can’t really be called a crime 🤷🏼♀️
Sorry, but I hate the shade of green. I also hate how the Buffalo check shows through.
That’s okay, to each their own 🤷🏼♀️
tooooo much talking
🤷🏼♀️😆
Amazing
thank you
Amazing
Thank you ☺️ Glad you are here
