    Sabu got me into watching ECW way back in the 90's. He was a catalyst, a trail blazer, a man who deserves so much credit. Thank you Sabu.

    Sabu,NewJack, Cactus Jack, Tommy Dreamer, Sand Man, Mikey Whipwreck, Rob VanDam, Axle Rotten, Balls Mahoney, Eddie Guerrero,Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, TerryFunk, Dudley Boys and the list goes on. I got to meet Paul Heyman a while back, and he is a nice guy. I shook his hand and told him thank you for the memories and I miss ECW. All these guys were the definition of ECW.

    Sabu is the greatest ECW wrestler in my eyes. He just had the whole 'x' factor and is one of the reasons the company was so successful.

    • @scottruth1414
      @scottruth1414 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You don't know much about the company then, It existed before WWE told you about it, here in Philly. Tony Stetson and the TWA/EASTERN Championship Wrestling crew, carried the company.

    • @KennyKendall2001
      @KennyKendall2001 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, Shane was a believable champion. Douglas could wrestle, could brawl and do hardcore, was great on the mic and looked and carried himself like a champion. He was the originator of the shoot style interview which in the long run, was a lot more important than breaking tables. How many people would have thrown down the NWA World Title belt? It took a lot of balls to do that and in doing so Douglas put ECW on the map.

I was a huge WCW fan growing up & was devasted when they went out of business, but now that I'm grown up & know what went behind the scenes, I can see why they went out of business: being stubborn about their ways, neglecting young talent & rejecting great ideas that could be a huge bebefit to the company.

    When I was a kid I only watched wwf then wcw right before the nwo takeover but I found ecw one night flipping through the channels and the first match I seen was sabu vs rvd and man ever since I watched it I was hooked and remained a fan of ecw until the end both of those guys should be rich and in the hall of fame

      Those are the best pure in ring performers of all time I saw a few sabu and rvd matches they are all sick. They won't have matches like that again. Sabu is 56 and rvd 50. And nowadays the talent is so weak

    There were ECW toys (action figures) made back around 1999 when the original ECW was around and I was a kid... I still own most of them, including the ECW toy ring that came with two action figures: Rob Van Dam and SABU. Sadly, I'm getting the feeling Sabu (and everyone else) was NOT payed royalties when the ECW toys were made.

    Yet another example of a company taking their best worker and using the talent to build a brand and style. All while not paying them what they are worth. Sabu is a legend and deserved better.

    With him, whoever his opponent, it's Star vs Scars. Sabu is unique, and he's incredibly versatile and always welcomed by crowds. Hall of Fame, fine, but some formal acknowledgment is long overdue from the business side. Speaking of which, the guys he mentioned didn't go over, too.

    Splendid Sabu interview,for I would have liked to have known some information about Sabu's days in XPW(which both he and Genie Melissa briefly discuss) and the controversy of him working there(with Paul Heyman having threatened a lawsuit[at the time]).

    I LOVED ECW!!! IYKYK!! Discovered it on late night TV and was hooked ... I used to hate on WCW and WWF... lol little did I know WWF was funding them!! I drank the Heyman- Aid!! When RVD and Dreamer fought, I used to love RVD... then he went WWF. That Lawler feud was real to me!!
