Maybe something along the lines of ‘Nevers gonna give you up’, where you have to own all Napolitan core provinces? As Aragan almost always gives up Naples.
As Nevers, I think you should go and conquer the home of the master of Nevers, i.e, Lancashire, home of Rick Astley, because he NEVER'S gonna give you up, and NEVER'S gonna let you down. And reform england now that we're at it
Hawk is the worst ally. There he is, with plenty of warscore and a province he isn't going to take but his ally could use. Does he give it to his ally? No.
It's not like the AI is a great ally either. You can conquer half of Europe together and be best buddies for the whole campaign, but then they immediately rival you when they have no other viable rivals.
@@SereglothIV If you have a certain level of trust, they can't rival you (I think 80?). They can, however, desire your land so much that they break alliance then rival you.
you're joking :D - this is exactly my run at the moment, yesterday evening managed to finish the mission that lets you form Latin Empire (started as Naxos)! Nice man keep up the good work!
Haven't even watched it all, but just wanna say - huge respect for changing your goal in mind to form the Latin Empire! I've not seen it being formed, and I'm sure I'll absolutely be thrilled by the time I finish this vid 👌
yo red hawk. For your corfu start, I remember zlewikk has made a video when he has to play as corfu. It's for his speedrun achievement challenge but maybe it will help you for getting independance

For corfu, I'm thinking that it might be best to get independence with Ottoman and Hungarian help if possible and then essentially dip into Italy, rather than compieting with the Ottomans. Since you will have strong allies after independence (might be worth it to even grat the Ottomans land in the peace treaty to get trust up) you should be able to take on Naples and go on from there Alternatively, it might be possible to try and take over Venetian colonies,, try to become catholic, and join the HRE, but again expancion would mainly be westward in order to avoid conflict with the Ottomans.
Never tried Naxos, but I wanted the other Venetian vassal's achievement once before they got wiped off the 1444 map, Corfu. Pure pain. France didn't have vassals in that patch, and almost always allied Venice.
What if the ai plays aggressively near the player so that the game can run better? I think that running a better ai on countries near the player and a worse one on those far away may grdatly improve performance
@@TheLibermania I'm pretty sure the heaviest load is on the CPU, considering all the necessary calculations (that's the biggest problem in Vic3, and I assume the same in eu4)
@@tuluppampam To be fair i don't know. But i know that i use the mod and had now problems with the game in the mid 1600s and 5 vasalls so far. Good 100 k troups (with ally) move which would've stopped my game when i declared war, works now pretty smooth
@@TheLibermania I have yet to go up til absolutism so I haven't noticed performance issue: I have no clue about it What I know is that the game does not like transferring provinces (it causes extreme lag), and it doesn't like big custom nations (probably because it has to keep updating the history while creating them) The game also doesn't like having more than 2100~milliard development (integer overflow)
Nevers is at the start a burgundian vassal and usually becomes a french vassal after the burgundian inheritance , so why not vassalize the two of them ? (maybe form france as a bonus goal)
It's funny that you have to break from Venice and that you took land from them considering the historical latin empire was originally a venetian idea to replace the byzantine with a catholic roman empire.
Historical fact: so called "Latin Empire" is historiographical concept just like "Byzantine Empire", when Crusaders take Constantinople they refer to themselves as "Romans" as in Roman Empire despite the fact many of this crusaders also coming from HRE.
I think you got pretty lucky here. The Venice + Knights navy is fairly strong, its very easy to get stuck on Naxos for the whole war AND they have more than enough transports to drop 6-10k troops on Naxos if they want. I have done 5 start attempts now, trying to get this going... 1st they got 4-5 allies, for a total of 50k troops - even with Aragon, Pope, Hungary and Milan it was close - then Ottomans attacked... 2nd & 3rd try, Venice had no strong rivals, so no Aragon or Hungary. I couldn't get off the islands to help, the Venice army (20k-ish) just walked around destroying ally armies (most around 10k) - then the Ottomans attacked... 4th try I got free before 1450, with Hungary and the Pope - then the Ottomans attacked and both allies refused the call (even after getting land in the Venice war) 5th war, got free, everybody declared on Venice and Ottomans still hadn't attacked Byzantium so I did... Allies couldn't get through Ottomans lands and Byz's navy was enough to keep me trapped in the south - then the Ottomans attacked ME (before Byz)
I love to imagine if this kind of thing actually happened. The island of Naxos not only throws off the shackles of Venice, but goes on to do what the entirety of Eastern Europe could not and defeat the Turkish empire and declare themselves Emperors of Rome.
Provence can become a crusader state by forming Jerusalem and form the Latin Empire Edit: Every country can form Jerusalem, they just need to be Catholic and have their capital in Arabia or Egypt, so every country can form the Latin Empire

Never say nevers
Gotta get the achievement.
unrelated but can you play hoi4 tno as Holy Russia i do not see that many people play as them
Become the Neversland by conquering all of the Low Countries and forming the Netherlands

It's Lattin time!
My favourite part was were naxos came in and said its latin time and lattined all over the ottoman empire
So thats it? We some kinda Latin Empire now?
- Naxos, 1525
What flag is that?
It’s laithing time
Watching you play makes it feel so easy to do these games with one province nations... Then I remember I can't do even half of it with big nations ಠ⌣ಠ
Don't worry, I'm doing a oirat campaign right now, the rebels are a pain but its managable somehow.
You’ll learn

Nevers has achievement called "Never say Nevers" so it would be nice opportunity to make it!
You could always go for Never say Nevers and re-form France, but I also really like the Rick Astley reference idea that was posted!
i know you never do part 2's in this series but i would still loooove to see more :)
