Fun fact: if England actually gives you Maine in the event, start a reconquest before accepting, then accept. You'll get Maine for free with no AE and still fight England for the rest
23:20 Charles the Bold: "I'm dying, I can feel it. But no one will see this pro-gamer strat coming!" *declares the stupidest war* *drags in the Emperor as an enemy* *throws himself into battle* *dies in battle, succeeding in his goal of making sure that France would get his throne and not Austria*
You did Brandenburg/Prussia/Germany, which is my favorite nation to play. Your NEXT Grand Camp is France, which is my SECOND FAVORITE nation to play. This is why I love you Hawk
“Did my alliance with the Ottomans somehow frick them? I don’t think it did” Of course it did, they’re allied to the player so they just become a dead weight!
Ottomans when you play a middle eastern minor: absolute unstoppable big green blobbing juggernaut Ottomans when you play in Europe and ally them: 1920 sick man of Europe
Imo I don't think Oirat is that good for a grand campaign because you can just conquer so much so fast with them and there isn't much build up so i think a smaller nation like Jianzhou or Korea in the same general region would be more entertaining for a grand campaign
41:54 If you do it the aggressive way (you and your subjects just need 15 provinces), if you have Castile/Spain/Aragon as a subject they gain cores on all of Iberia region.
Aligning with the Pope is so OP. Basically get all of Northern Italy for free. Especially if you combine it with taking a Union on Provence so you can use their missions to get free cores in Naples.
I think it'd be really cool to see a grand campaign with one of the really minor powers, getting to see what they're really capable of in the right hands! As cool as A-Z is, most of the challenges are done within 100-150 years, so it cant really cover the gameplay of what happens now that this new country is on the scene.
41:56 The other option in the tech discount Spain mission would have released a vassal out of all your owned provinces in Iberia, that would have cores on ALL provinces in Iberia
For a Grand Campaign...Ming (or a Ming releasable)! I remember when you did a Ming releasable video you brought up "what would it be like if we continue after taking all of China and finish being a great power with colonialism embraced?" Make it happen, Captain!
A few tips for the hre dissolution: If you take that mission after dissolving the hre you gain +50% heir chance and -1% prestige decay for the rest of the game, and you may vassalize some countries in germany for the last mission in this branch ( if you have 50 provinces in north or south germany with owner's culture you gain access to military hegemony without the 1 million soldiers
And that iberian mission is: if you have a subject with 15 provinces in Iberia they gain cores on all other provinces that you and your subject don't own.
in the first France game I declared my very first claim throne war. It was on Castile with Aragon and Naples(I didn't make it in time) and before 1500 I got Burgundy, Milan, Castile, Aragon, Naples and half of England. But then I saw how much diplo points do I need to integrate Castile and decided to conquer them next time
At 18:20 what you would really want to do in this case, since all of the AE taken by the italian guys is from this war alone, you need to send the peace deal BEFORE 1st of Jan so that the relations get affected after the tick and the AE drops under 50 right after, so they wont be able to coalition you.
Next grand campaign; pls form the united crowns from NL and then own every province the dutch and english empire ever owned, yes that includes "all of india and indonesia"
Castile no longer gets the PU Portugal CB from the mission if they are either allied to or have a RM to them now and they always ally/RM each other due to being historical friends. I think this was done to weaken Castile/Spain because when they had Portugal in a PU they would always be first great power and would own most of the new world etc.
Great video, just finished my france campaign and want to play it again thanks to you. I really love the missions to be friendly to the popo, you can share AE with him and he gets all of northern Italy and you get him as a march, in my campaign i was rocking a vassal with a 300k army, bigger than the ottos, super fun imo
The key to govcap with France is to do the missions to change your gov as soon as possible. Which means annexing any vassal with a capital in france and making other subjects below 5% liberty desire. Then you can become an empire as the starting gov locks that option out.
As France, you could have asked for access through Scotland so you can invade England via Scotland. This makes you able to take English land like Cornwall and Wales for easier wars. You just need to be lucky with the event firing late. Your subjects and allies can retake Cosmopolitan France from England.
I did Orleans to Sisterhood France and played to Revolution. Fun fact, that modifier doesn't go away if you swap gov types to only have female rulers. Also fun fact, stacking the damage reduction from divine on revolutionary armies is insanly good.
10:36 cases like this makes me wish for an alarm type feature for eu5 where you can set an alarm for an specific date and the game then reminds you when that date comes close
I know you already did Prussia, but Teutons are a BLAST if you choose the other path. My favourite campaign ever was my first Holy Horde run, I definitely recommend.
Grand Campaign Idea: Majapahit -> England -> USA for maximum autonomy reduction; backed up by stacking all the buddhist/hindu monuments and converting the world.
You know that if you full state all provinces in the Netherlands region and don’t have any with 90% autonomy (I think not sure about this number), the Dutch Revolt disaster will only make you lose stab and pop up stacks of rebels sometimes. You won’t get the event where they get independence and rally all your rivals against you. It’s better than nearly bankrupting your country like you did ❤
if you ever play a republic in Italy again. you really should look into sortition. It's basically the same as the starting reform that Venice has when it comes to rulers. only it stacks with stuff (such as Italian signora) without restricting your reform options that much, the student even has a video on it (and lets be real. barely that many rulers from an Italian signora will be reelected with or without a year being taken or removed from the term. and hardly that many would be worth reelecting, and force reelection would only be valuable if your goal is to force an early monarchy)
I really wanna suggest doing Venice for one of the Grand campaigns, especially doing 1 of the 2 sort of achievements, 1st very unoriginal "All canals lead to Venice" as Venice own the panama, the suez and the kiel canals, 2nd the quite interesting path I took in my last campaign as Venice "Going to India the right way around" as Venice be the strongest trade power in the Gujarat, Coromandel, Bengal, Malacca and Moluccas trade nodes without ever having your ships leave the Mediterranean through Gibraltar. Suggestion is only for one of the two cuz like, taking panama without being allowed to enter atlantic could be annoying.
You asked for some more suggestions for grand campaigns; I'll suggest colonial Portugal, mediterranean Venice, and/or Poland to Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
If you make Peace in december with the italians for milan who have 51 AE the next year will instantly decrease their AE to approx. 48/49 and you dont have to fear the coalition
I actually want to suggest a Mughals Grand Campaign. You could start as any of the Timurid vassals, and then conquer full India supercontinent and maybe the region of Khorasan along with that. Not sure what unique gimmick you'd have as a secondary goal (i.e. how you did Prussian space marines), but I'm thinking something relating to assimilating cultures
If you end up playing a Britain grand campaign, i think it would be better to do a more colonial focused game, conquering India and such because doing yet another conquest of Europe would be pretty repetitive, anyway love these videos !
As Ottomans complete the hoi4 achievement Hardly Anything Sèvres in eu4: As the Ottoman Empire, hold the capitals of France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Japan. But instead of holding capitals, conquer the regions mentioned 😊
46:30 it coulb be that someone like Spain or Poland is defender of the faith and thats why The Ottomans are to scared to declare. Happend to me sometimes.
The dutch revolt seems like a seriously easy thing to manage once it fires so always curious as to why people do all the expensive things to avoid it. So much money and points
Here's another suggestion for a Grand Campaign: Bavaria into HRE (yes, forming the HRE) Catholic One Culture with the full Bavarian mission tree finished
Play as Poland/Commonwealth and focus on husaria/cav combat ability and also do reserved prussian , russian , austrian war ( fight them all at the same time)
Props to you, even though you didn't do reconquest (easy restart early game) you still played this the worse way. ❤ Edit: 31:40 oh and that too, so nice man ❤
I know the Dutch Revolt Disaster is really bad and to be avoided, but dang, I was really hoping for it to fire this game. Hawk is already the big dingus in Europe and a setback would have probably been interesting (also the 'capital in low countries region' trigger to avoid the disaster is pretty lame)
I'd love to see a big campaign outside Europe - like maybe unify India as Delhi? I did it for the achievement and it was fun. Bonus points if you go Sikh
hey man idk if your are into older paradox games like vic 2 or the mp scene in that but it would be cool if you gave that a try(asquith mp is best for mp)!!! Love the videos!
For your next GC you should play in Asia, like as a Mongolian state or a Japanese daimyo and conquer China, Indochina, Indonesia, Philippines, Oceania and Pacific Americas
the dutch revolt is really not a big issue, like a couple of rebel stacks here and there over a 20 year period then it ends, honestly not worth the admin moving your capital
"aFtEr 4 yEaRs" - yeah okay lil bro, how about people watch some REAL EU4 Gameplay on January 15th at 12:00 EST/18:00 CEST.
Isn’t this just you? Or is this Laith or Midge?
@Rudra-b5d it's their own self-promo for the next season lmao
and tbh it's mildly amusing still
its CET actually🥸🥸
If you get Napoleon as revolutionary France you also have to declare on Russia and march a grand army to Moscow in the winter.
Sure why not lmao
@@TheRedHawk you should make a side goal once you get Napoleon to be at war with as many countries as possible too lol
Even better: march in summer, get stuck in winter 💀
Isn't Napoleon event scripted for france as soon as they go revolutionary? (Well, a few hours after)
It wasn't winter though. They arrived in Moscow in October.
Fun fact: if England actually gives you Maine in the event, start a reconquest before accepting, then accept. You'll get Maine for free with no AE and still fight England for the rest
22:05 Live footage of GIGACHAD Charles the Bold force-feeding the French with the Burgundian Succession
23:20 Charles the Bold: "I'm dying, I can feel it. But no one will see this pro-gamer strat coming!"
*declares the stupidest war*
*drags in the Emperor as an enemy*
*throws himself into battle*
*dies in battle, succeeding in his goal of making sure that France would get his throne and not Austria*
might say he throws a *bold* move there.
A true french hero
You did Brandenburg/Prussia/Germany, which is my favorite nation to play.
Your NEXT Grand Camp is France, which is my SECOND FAVORITE nation to play.
This is why I love you Hawk
Aztec Empire Sunset invasion would be cool
The goal would be to annex all Colonial countries
- Spain, Portugal, England, France, and The Netherlands
Gotta love it when Red Hawk takes “Strengthen Noble Privileges”. Classic and classy move as always 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
“Did my alliance with the Ottomans somehow frick them? I don’t think it did”
Of course it did, they’re allied to the player so they just become a dead weight!
Ottomans when you play a middle eastern minor: absolute unstoppable big green blobbing juggernaut
Ottomans when you play in Europe and ally them: 1920 sick man of Europe
Grand campaign ideas. Portugal, Aragon, or Poland for Europe. Colony Japan or Oirat for Asia. Songhai or Kong for Africa
Coloniser ming
I'd love to see Poland can into space while uniting the Slavic people
Japan would slap
Imo I don't think Oirat is that good for a grand campaign because you can just conquer so much so fast with them and there isn't much build up so i think a smaller nation like Jianzhou or Korea in the same general region would be more entertaining for a grand campaign
Mongolia -> Mongol Empire for Asia surely
41:54 If you do it the aggressive way (you and your subjects just need 15 provinces), if you have Castile/Spain/Aragon as a subject they gain cores on all of Iberia region.
Surguja traumatized him so hard he had to go back to beginner nations
Aligning with the Pope is so OP. Basically get all of Northern Italy for free.
Especially if you combine it with taking a Union on Provence so you can use their missions to get free cores in Naples.
but the main problem with alliance with the Pope is you'll get kingdom of God as a vassal with almost every time high LD and no way to decrease it
I think it'd be really cool to see a grand campaign with one of the really minor powers, getting to see what they're really capable of in the right hands! As cool as A-Z is, most of the challenges are done within 100-150 years, so it cant really cover the gameplay of what happens now that this new country is on the scene.

Love how versatile and fun France is. Fun despite being pretty strong. I'm still figuring out the best strategy for French Roman Empire.
in the first France game I declared my very first claim throne war. It was on Castile with Aragon and Naples(I didn't make it in time) and before 1500 I got Burgundy, Milan, Castile, Aragon, Naples and half of England. But then I saw how much diplo points do I need to integrate Castile and decided to conquer them next time

It would've been interesting to see Roman Empire goal for this campaign
Next grand campaign; pls form the united crowns from NL and then own every province the dutch and english empire ever owned, yes that includes "all of india and indonesia"

My Pope vassal was third on the great power list 🥲
Love your videos so much dude. Especially right now when I'm sick. Dude sorry for asking, but what is red hawks nationality?
I’m French of course!

Loving the Grand campaigns. France was an excellent pick! Petitioning for expansionst Ming next :)
10:36 cases like this makes me wish for an alarm type feature for eu5 where you can set an alarm for an specific date and the game then reminds you when that date comes close
The PB ads are getting better and better. Honestly, I wasn't going to watch it live but I have to now. You guys are cooking.
thanks for your vids man, and its nice to see a long campaign again
I know you already did Prussia, but Teutons are a BLAST if you choose the other path. My favourite campaign ever was my first Holy Horde run, I definitely recommend.
Grand campaign idea: Mongolia into Yuan into Mongol Empire and annex all areas the Mongol empire couldn't.
So..... World conquest?
@nebojsakmezic9763 eh i was thinking more the middle east, india and japan, i should have specified that.
I really "think" that this is going to be a very fun series. Keep it up.
Grand Campaign Idea: Majapahit -> England -> USA for maximum autonomy reduction; backed up by stacking all the buddhist/hindu monuments and converting the world.
36:59 I personally would really like to see a game where you deal with the dutch revolt the "intended" way
playing france in eu4 what has the world come to...
I would suggest actually allying scotland before the maine ware. Get access and fleet basing > move army over there and win in half a year.
It’s better than nearly bankrupting your country like you did ❤
We need more Grand Campaigns
Savoy but you take over every place that has been ruled/claimed by the house of savoy (you can form Italy)
I am so excited for this campaign.
These great campaigns are amazing man
31:32 truly a giga chad huge brain moment, only the best EU4 players accidentally delete their armies

9:58 literally the attitude of france until napoleon

"Let's delete these assholes" - Red Hawk playing a historically accurate Renaissance monarch.
The dutch revolt seems like a seriously easy thing to manage once it fires so always curious as to why people do all the expensive things to avoid it. So much money and points
Lord hawk, embrace the biggest legacy of Napoleon and conquer/unified Europe!!
France is the best nation!
Of course you make grand campaign as France AFTER I start playing France. First Byz, now France...
Here's another suggestion for a Grand Campaign: Bavaria into HRE (yes, forming the HRE) Catholic One Culture with the full Bavarian mission tree finished
It used to be a mission in the France tree where we could get a PU over Spain, I guess it's no longer there
Play as Poland/Commonwealth and focus on husaria/cav combat ability and also do reserved prussian , russian , austrian war ( fight them all at the same time)
The intros are gradually getting better
Looking forward to a few parts again
Do a Burgundy campaign, get the pu's over the elector/emperor and form Lotharingia.
Ardebil grand campaign would be awesome in to Persia of course or the tag that goes after. That would be a challenge
Have you done a Sunset/Sunrise Invasion run yet? Might be interesting to see, your choice for between Aztec and Inca.
Props to you, even though you didn't do reconquest (easy restart early game) you still played this the worse way. ❤
Edit: 31:40 oh and that too, so nice man ❤
Please move the capital back to Paris. You can prevent the disaster by converting the culture in Lowlands and fighting the rebels.
I think it would be fun to do a campaign outside of Europe, maybe a Mughal conquest of India or a Mongol unification run?
I know the Dutch Revolt Disaster is really bad and to be avoided, but dang, I was really hoping for it to fire this game. I already suggested "do the Spanish mission tree" but maybe start as Navarra for extra sPain.
Yay this is a great campaign
That Leonardo DaVinci pronounciation - pain!!!
Can’t let the Broys know I fw France
man all of suggestions are in Europe it's would get samy, do Japan and Persia (that U always failed to form) for next GC.
Well, U can't form Persia without culture converting, and doesn't seem to be a particularly good choice for it.
Oh wait...
@@Darkprosper I did not mean for the current GC for the next ones playing as QQ for example
@@YuzuruHakushaku Yeah I was just making a joke because there is a country in the game called U.
@@DarkprosperAHA, U is a good option to play because you get a gold mine in the middle of China, India, and hordes; in fact, it can become a horde.
For your next GC you should play in Asia, like as a Mongolian state or a Japanese daimyo and conquer China, Indochina, Indonesia, Philippines, Oceania and Pacific Americas
If you can, i think you should make a campaign as every interesting nation in the rise of the ottomans start
Підкорити Португалію? Згодувати їй усю Іберію, і вона сама сформує вам Іспанію) Плюс колонізувати буде потроху:)
18:23 you shoulda end the war at 31th of december, you would have won minus 3 tick of AE in just 1 day
Entire campaign here we go!
tbh. I wouldn't wait for the surrender of maine and attack with a reconquest CB. Faster and more powerfull opening imo.
Love your videos!
Da Vinky?!
I know you did a prussia - germany run, but please do austria hre vassal swarm and uniting the hre run too.
do THE RING OF FIRE!
you start as a pacific n.w u.s tribe and take over everything that touches the pacific.
do it.
native tribes need love before eu5
Suggestions for this "Grand Campaign" series outside of Europe:
- Mughals
- Hindustan/Bharat
- Qing
- Yuan/Mongol Empire
you should do the same thing you did for Germany and complete the mission tree!!
Begging for a grand campaign out of Europe but if not my vote is for a burgundy/lotharingia game
Lotharyngia run would be fun. Or a provance to jerusalem
Idea for future campaign, play as England and go for british empire borders at height of their power
Your merchant mismanagement is so consistent I have to assume you just hate having ducats
the dutch revolt is really not a big issue, like a couple of rebel stacks here and there over a 20 year period then it ends, honestly not worth the admin moving your capital
Try the burgundy-> Dutch -> French/germany thing. Best op
I want a Hussite Empire campaign. Real pain.
