I can’t see them clearly but I think those aquatic floating plants in the water are water hyacinth! It’s an invasive weed, I’m surprised that they’re well spread out in little clusters, their population must be well maintained. butbut yeah its probably safer that way for the boats to pass. They have lovely purple flowers. Their stems are like little “balloons”

While in Kerala please do try some traditional Kerala food specialties such as "Puttu & Kadala Curry " , Aapam & Stew curry ( pronounced Ishtu) , Naadan Kozhi Curry , Special Kerala Prawns curry , Kerala also has a large number of Beef eaters ( definitely not seen in Northern India) .. So try the Kerala -style Beef fry . I saw that they already served you the Banana fritters , near the pool , and Payasam (Semolina vermicelli dessert ) . There is another variety of the Payasam called the Pradhaman or Ada Pradhaman , which is exclusively a speciality of Kerala . Also must try "Ela Ada ", Ada refers to a flat rice cake stuffed with grated coconut & jaggery mixture and flavored by cardamom , and Ela here refers to the Leaves in which they are steamed in .

My goto South Indian restaurant in Malaysia, Dubai and pretty much where ever I can find one. Good value for money and tasty also pretty clean place. Funny, Little Big Man passes out everywhere in the most awkward positions.

There is a place called allepey , where you can get a overnight stay on a boat, with a personal chef and a room and a personal bathroom, some of them are solar powered. They have a sadhya dish, in a banana leaf with all the fixins. But yah, also check out munnar tea estates, hiking up the mountains and checking out the sunset in wayanad, Kovalum beach and Shiva Statue. The colonial churches (vasco da gamma era), Portuguese area, jew town, fort kochi, the most expensive temple in the world (called padmabaswamy temple).
