Nice! Quick tip, when doing 3m tape, fold a small piece of the red backing out over the side so you can pull it once everything is lined up. Then press down on it.

@@PilotDamian I'd be really interested in this video as well but honestly I am much more interested in seeing how the silicone sealing job went. That is my main concern with this thing, I feel like up close you would be able to see it on the edges even if you did a good job. Is that the case?
Where did you get this hood scoop it looks solid I bought one at eBay and I install it already but when the air coming through the scoop moves little bit I did the proper installation but I think the scoop hood is not a good quality. 😭
Just curious why did you put in the screws before you put on the double sided tape just to do it again after? Only asking because I’m lazy lol and rather just do that all once
Kevin 92 the silicone I used is clear and you can see it when you go close to it but otherwise it is not seen when you don’t know it’s there. Added it for water proofing.
As commented on another video. Water would get into the scoop anyway so is the purpose of the silicone seal to help the adhesive 3m tape? Just a little curious on the purpose.
@@bradthompson9598 Yes obviously it still gets into the scoop from the front, as it is designed for. However that water goes through the intercooler fins and drains out back basically. Water coming form the sides can drip into unexpected places where it was not meant to be.
good video! I'm considering getting something like this and I am wondering how yours is holding up over time. Have you noticed any difference with temps at all with the airflow going through the mesh? Any rattling or noise? And you said you put some clear silicone around it, have you had any trouble with water getting in? Thank You
Thank you! It is holding up excellent! It is bolted solid haha not going anywhere! I haven’t really noticed any temps changes, it is mainly for looks. No rattling noise, and the silicone gel around it is sealed off no water leaking inside - ofcourse depends of how good a job you do 😋
how long did shipping take? I ordered one from subiespeed and after like 5 months i just canceled because covid and waiting for a part that long is wild. I would have custom made one out of carbon fiber in that time lol looks good though!
it's nice, but too bulbous for me. Even paint matched, it just doesn't have the right shape. I think I want less behind he opening and more in front of it, like a deeper overhang.
@@Blue_Ghost-X yeah, things change over time, big surprise there. Older wrx aesthetic design is still revered among enthusiasts compared to newer models. So again, don't know what you're on about.

Either you embrace the new model for what it was made to be or you don’t. There’s no reason to try and change something new to look older. If you like the older gen then that’s what you should go get.
I by far am not very good at this stuff, but this was painful to watch lol making me nervous on a lot of unnecessary steps…. I vinyl wrapped my hood scoop and was a lot easier to take off then this one……..
I think u should have assessed the situation before u did things. Or maybe TH-cam others. The way u did the clips and the bolts was really frustrating. The clips u just lift the middle up and then take out the bottom. And u kept breaking them. Don’t rush things u ended up making thing way longer for urself
Mud flaps, words on tires, towing eyes, and more cosmetic ricer adornments, perfect pos car for all of that wannabe crap haha. Still same shit motors and cars slower than a fucking camry. My wrx is going back to the bank and rest in piss as far as I'm concerned. Wish subaru would go under and hope as much as I hate electric cars and other restrictions making cars gayer, I hope these can't ever be sold again even if it's the last gas powered car, as soon as possible, maybe the impending reset of the monetary system and institutions and what have you will make these vile wretches go extinct.

Sense when is the engine bay considered the trunk? It's a HOOD liner, homes. Safety glasses are not necessary for this job lol.
