    This was good to see. I use the a2a c172 (fsx), but always disconnected if I had a genuine mechanical issue so as not to be in people's way. Nice to know there's controllers who deal with it properly.

      Low traffic areas are good for this. KC center is on often but not much traffic usually, and I didn’t need much of his service anyway.

      @@atmosflight5534 that's a very good point, never flown in the US on Vatsim, I'll have to try it out. In fairness I think I'd find it easier (so much great US atc content on TH-cam)

    You keep hearing the "grapevine" say how much VATSIM controllers do NOT want to handle emergencies so I'm glad this one played along. More sophisticated add-ons for MSFS are now coming with general wear and tear and very real possibilities of non-normal operation, so I'm kind of hoping that the controllers will warm up to the idea.

    Great video. Did you have to play with rudder sensitivity much. You got that correction so smooth at the end. No matter what I do I could almost 180 with a dab of rudder

      Glad you liked it. Out of the country since February, but will be back to making videos in a little over a month. Really excited to get back to it :)

    What does backtaxi mean during taxi instructions?

    • @atmosflight5534
      @atmosflight5534  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      “Back taxi” means taxing on the runway to take off. Some airports don’t have taxiways to the end of the runway so you taxi back to the end of the runway on the runway itself.

      @@atmosflight5534 Feels weird to me that you are given permission to drive down the active runway but then at the end you have to clear it then get permission to go back on :p

    How do you cause the plane to have an engine failure?

    As of June 2022 can the regular onboard msfs ATC handle emergency landings?

    • @TayG-y9q
      @TayG-y9q 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can not even request a diversion.

    • @JohnVanderbeck
      @JohnVanderbeck ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heck the built-in ATC can't even handle a normal flight properly

    If it's a game, why can't you do emergency handling at busy airports? Why would it annoy them? It's literally just a game. I don't get it

    • @terasgamer9097

      Because then everyone would do it.

    • @TayG-y9q
      @TayG-y9q 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because it is annoying and puts a lot of load on volunteers who are trying to have fun and relax also.Virtual ATC would not really add much to an emergency situation in my opinion.
