Mwuahaha. It seems i got 1 of the best tips for trading that most people don't know yet. Ok i'll grace you guys with this amazing tip for trading. You can sell to caravans instead of to cities. There's a huge benefit to this because caravan prices do not adapt while in the middle of selling. Cities prices adapt while selling, villages and caravans don't. So you find a city that will buy a commodity you have a high quantity of for an extremely high price. Problem is, because the price adapts during the transaction, the price deflates pretty quickly. But caravans keep around 15k gold on them and they use the price points of the nearby city. So instead of selling in the city, you wait in the city for a caravan to come so you can sell to the caravan using the same price point of the city, but without the prices deflating. You make so much more gold this way.
If you have enough of a certain commodity for emptying more than 1 caravan's gold supply, you can wait to catch the caravan as it's leaving the city as opposed to when it's on it's way in. Because if you sell while it's going in, then the prices will change after it goes in. Then just wait for another caravan. A couple of slight annoyances are: 1) that caravans are fast, so it's hard to catch unless you're coming from in front of it. 2) some cities don't have many caravans coming to them for some reason, unfortunately.
Sometimes it could also come in handy to know that the caravan gold resets after entering a city. So if you have multiple commodities to sell and want to empty the same caravan twice, you can.

DO YOUR JOB AND THUMB ME
1: Have alot of different kinds of food to keep high morale in your troops
2: High morale = leadership skill up + map movement speed
3: Keep all horses and mules u dont need u can cut them up for meat
4: Warhorses are needed to upgrade troops to high teir cavalry or Cav archers
5: Warhorses are sold at citys or towns that produce horses
6: Buy workshops in towns for passive gold income per day
7: you can choose what workshop type you want but check what villages are attached to the town to see what workshop works best
8: Join a faction or form your own and start to pillage as many villages as u can for resources + Influence ( Faction currency )
9: If you plan on doing a castle siege pillage that castles attached villages and then wait outside the castle and make sure no peasants travel to the castle
10: If you block a castles supply routes the number of defenders will drop over a few days due to starvation and leaving because its a shit place to stay
11: use as many companions as you can on caravans to never even think about money again
12: Best horse archers are the Mongol faction ( right of the map )
13: an army of 50 good horse archers can beat an army of 150 mixed on an open plane ( they run in a dothraki circle and spam arrows )
14: Wounded dudes in your dude army heal faster if you wait at a town
15: once you join a faction and join a party ( army group ) make sure you actually pull the finger out during a castle siege and u gain more points to keeping that castle for yourself
16: Gaining castles fast and fast and fast is a shit idea. upgrade them to full and garrison them first and they will never be raided and give you 5X the income from a fresh castle.
17: Polearms are good for horses but only for side sweeps, 2 handed weapons are great if u wanna swing from the side ( they most times 1 shot )
18: Companions you send out on a party right now are Trash AI and will always get captured by bandits and its much better to send them on a caravan for that sweet sweet DOSH
19: Starting out try trade as much as u can to the nearest 2 or 3 city's close to you to get enough gold to buy a caravan / workshop. once you get +$ per day you dont need to trade anymore
20: Prices shown for different city items will change by the time you get there. travel in the near REMEMBER THE NAMES.
21: Away with you Vile begger
22: High level trade perks make you able to actually straight up BUY a Settlement from the owner for $$$. by this time u will have more money they sense so throw money at problems and u can make people like you.
23: Your character CAN and WILL die of old age so remember to get married and have kids so u can play as them once he kicks the bucket so its not GG
24: Side with empire makes you enemy with half the map ( you gotta stay in the middle without getting your shit kicked in )
25: Side to Destroy the empire makes you enemy with half the map ( you gotta stay out of the middle without getting your shit kicked in )
26: ALWAYS BUY EXCESS FOOD FOR YOUR TROOPS IN DIFFERENT SORTS
27: if you are leading a faction army you will share your food with the group ( most npc groups are starving ) so you gain a shit load of influence ( Faction currency)
    28: Hi Mac!
    ITS HARVESTING SEASON BOYS!

Here is a tip for late game leadership grinding, once you are financially stable and can support some companion parties, form some parties, then you can form an army with their parties at 0 influence cost and lead them around the map gaining free leadership exp. If you are planing to do this ahead time invest some points into leadership in order to when you start leading an army boost the amount of xp you get, I used this method and I gained about 25 lvls in leadership (from 50-75) within two hours just running around the map grinding out looters, trading, and doing tournaments. Also if your army cohesion is low you can just disband a reform with your parties right away to get high cohesion back.

Regarding trading tips for early game, here are a few:
    1. Only buy when the price of the goods is 'green' (meaning its cheaper than average), you can sell when the price of the goods is 'gold' but obviously best to sell when the price of the goods is 'red' (meaning it is selling for more than average).
    2. Bear in mind that if you buy food items with the intention of trading them that your party WILL consume them (this includes Beer, Wine, Olives, Dates, Fish, Grain, etc.) even if you 'lock' them in the inventory. So it's not worth buying these unless you can buy them in such bulk that it doesn't matter that your troops consume some while you are travelling to your sale destination.
    3. I find Linen to the best money maker in terms of reliably being able to buy it low and sell it high. Clay and Hardwood are also pretty good. Flax you can also get quite cheaply and usually sell for more than you buy it, but it's one of those items that the price will drop very quickly as you sell it to a city... so if you have 500 Flax you might have to visit several cities to get rid of it all at profit. Basically everything other good just buy green and sell higher (with the exception of Oil explained below) and you'll have no issue. I did one anti-clockwise cycle of the map and went from 10k to 70k.
    4. I'd avoid buying Oil as I can never seem to reliably find cities where I can sell it for a non-green price (you can still profit by buying it at a green price of 40 and selling at a green price of 70 but it's harder to keep track of this).
    5. I find travelling anti-clockwise around the map (avoiding the Sturgian cities) to be the best for trading routes. Generally the Olives and Linen from Vlandia sell well in Aserai, and the Linen/Dates from Aserai sell well in the Khuzait Steppes/the Empire.

Here’s a couple for those horse riders out there:
Some polearms are couchable, making it very easy to line up an attack run and deliver an instant kill. When purchasing a couchable weapon, it’ll tell you if it is, right next to where it says ‘one handed’ or ‘two handed’.
Another great tip is to double tap and hold the w and s keys to almost instantly accelerate or stop your horse. It’s much faster than having to hold w to speed all the way up, or hold s to slow all the way back down.

Loving the game though! Would recommend it for new players.
Can't wait for the full release if this is the early access.
Tip: I've found influence to be the most difficult resource to get lots of. Especially if the faction you are with has certain kingdom policies. However if you are at war, sometimes donating lords and troops that you have taken prisoner to an ally dungeon can give you up to 100 influence a time in my experience. It does differ though and I am messing around with it now to try and find out why but it's a great way to gain hefty amounts in one go. I'm not sure if donating troops to the garrison is similar but it's worth a try.

    Tips:
--If you hover on the green value of the item, it tells you by how much it is cheaper based on the average price of what you have found so far, not the average of what all the cities offer.
--Prices change and scam you, that is why they are named "Rumors", some of them are false rumors and unless you approximately know the true average price it could make you lose a lot of money.(there is a perk to reduce these rumors and caravans and workshops give accurate information, and are colored brighter then the faded ones(rumors))
--looters do blunt damage so they never kill your troops(just wound) in auto-resolve, use them to level up your weak troops, money and farming renown(approx 1 renown each fair battle)
--try to have the requirements of the main quest finished soon because when you finish it, it automatically makes you at peace with everyone if you are at war,(talk to the quest finisher right after you start your own kingdom since when you start your kingdom you auto declare war to every one).
--use cav only army to move very fast on the map and you can catch even caravans. :)
--use all heros to smith/smelt/etc.. your weapons.(clicking on the portrait allows you to choose which hero should do it)
--When commanding a siege, let the ram destroy the main gate before ordering a charge else they will all go to the ladders into a meat grinder.
--do not let one kingdom be too powerful, there are ways to slow down such empire, be their vassal, take the land they take, create army and grab some of their vassals away from where they need them. Push for a stalemate or a loss. Snowballing effect still not fixed yet, the player has to stop it if he wants to stand a chance of establishing his own kingdom and survive it.
--killing forest bandits roaming outside their hideout before attacking the hideout reduces their numbers and makes it a lot easier.

Some multiplayer tips from a warband MP veteran. Most of these are warband tips that carry over to Bannerlord
    1. Do not run at people with your attack already chambered, not only do you run slower but it leaves you open to getting countered, which brings me to my next tip
    2. Learn to target swap, or turn fighting as we sometimes call it. This skill is invaluable and i often find it easier to get kills when im fighting multiple opponents because they get reckless and leave themselves open for a turn swing. The idea is that you you change your target at the last minute to catch the other guy off guard.
    3. If getting charged by a horse and you dont have enough time to avoid entirely, try to position yourself directly in front of the horse as it is very hard for the rider to swing and/or stab u there and u will most likely just get knocked over.
    4. Learn.To.Feint.
    5. Unless youre sure that there are no enemies nearby always walk with your shield up. A good archer only needs a second to land a headshot on someone not paying attention.
    6. The 3rd person archer view seams to shoot a little high in the alpha, go into first person for more accurate shots, or aim a little low.
    7. If youre feeling confident you can often get a swing in on an opponent that is charging u with a chambered attack. Simple move forward and swing and you will usually get your swing off first and get a free hit. I call it countering. This is risky
    8. The top thrust on spears seems to be way more effective and reliable against infantry and cavalry. Thrusts are kinda janky in general right now in bannerlord tho.
    9. If you are an archer and your being approached by a melee with a shield, hold your shot until the last minute and you can usually nail then when they drop their shield to swing their weapon. This is very satisfying.
    10. If you are being approached by a melee player, sometimes you can aim for the foot and get a cheeky shot in under their guard. Alternatively, if they are using a small shield and the low guard, you can usually get a headshot.
    11. If you have an axe then be as aggressive as you can against shielded players, they are very strong against shields. Newer players will usually be overwhelmed if you keep swinging at them non stop. Veteran players will know that they can almost always get a swing in after they block an attack, so be careful
    12. If youre an archer always shoot and move, even if you arent being shot at. Get into the habit of sidestepping after every shot. This will make you significantly harder to hit.
    13. A melee on melee fight can often fall into a rhythm of attack > block > attack. You can throw this rhythm off by occasionally holding your swing for a fraction of a second longer, and it will usually result in the enemy dropping their shield for their attack netting u a free swing. We simply call this holding.

@@RyTrapp0 Havent used shield bash much. In order for kick to rele work you have to be pretty confident that its gonna hit. If you dont swing immediately after kicking they are gonna be able to block. I mean immediately after, like no hesitation or waiting to see if the kick hit. Not much use outside of dueling imo. Unless you get a rele predictable opponent

Workshop Location: When you setup a workshop, find a city that sells very cheap raw materials (has a village nearby producing it) and at the same time very expensive "end product" of the same type. For example I found that Orc Hall, had veeeeery cheap clay... and Pottery was super expensive there, I placed a pottery shop and it makes me the most cash out of any other shop so far for me.

    Here are some tips:
    1. When in a faction if you join an active army you will get experience in whatever they do. Are they sieging a town or castle? You get points in engineering. Are they raiding a village? You get points in rougery. You also don't lose affiliation with the influencial people in those towns the army is raiding. At least if you aren't the leader of the army.
    2. Is the army you are in going to be attacked by another army? Leave the army and join the battle by yourself after they've already engaged. The AI makes dumb decisions and gives stupid commands. Its better to have full control over your soldiers during combat. I've seen a friendly army lose even if they outnumber 2 to 1 because of how stupid they are at commanding.
    3. Do tournaments early on whenever you go into a city. They give you a lot of good gear. In one campaign I received a tier 5 helmet as a reward and after a while I received a second one that I sold for a profit of 5k gold. Bonus: Now with the new patch you get points during tournaments.
    4. This is more towards mid - late game. When you have a level 3 clan you can have 3 personnal armies. Yours and 2 companions. You can create a big army with the other 2 giving you an edge in battle against other factions.
    5. If you make your companions lead their own personal armies and leave them alone, when you're in a faction they will hunt bandits and you will receive rep with villages of that faction. Very easy way to rank up and get more / better troops.
    6. Unless you really don't want to do a manual battle, never send your troops alone on anything other than looters. Even your most expensive units have a chance of dying to a lousy mountain bandit.
And finally, I don't know if this actually works or I just had a stroke of luck 3 times in a row, but:
After you join a faction if you want a castle or town really easily the best way to do it is to siege one by yourself, don't form an army with anyone, and capture it. Most of the time when they start voting the lords of the faction will vote almost unanimously to give you the newly acquired land

    - Careful not have too many horses or mules. if you exceed the amount your current party size can ride you will get a "herd" debuff to your party speed. keep war horses over regular horses, just in case you want to upgrade some troops to higher tier mounted units.
    - Work shops can gain you good profits in the early game to help you support caravans later. When buying a Workshop have a look at the villages around the city, and make the Workshop correspond to what supply is closest. For example, Clay producing villages will give you good profits if you build a pottery Workshop.
    - Find a lance that you can "Couch". During battle on a mount, as you speed up a spear icon will appear above your health bar. Press X on the keyboard, and this will hold your lance like you are jousting. All you need to now is run down a enemy, does massive damage, kills enemies and mounts in one hit, but make sure your mount and you are well armoured because the damage multipliers are physics based, so the faster you are the more damage you can inflict. Same goes for the damage you take, so if you are charging a enemy at full gallop and he decides to throw a javelin at your chest, well you'll be flat on your back.

A note on horses that I didn't see in the comments yet: Sumpter Horses do not count towards your speed bonus, they will instead give you more inventory space similar to mules and camels, if you find you're reaching the herd status trade the sumpters for other horses.
Once you've got a decent army size consider taking livestock with you for sieges. They don't add weight to your inventory, meaning more loot or tradegoods, and they can be slaughtered when you start running low on food.

There are a lot of weapons in the game that have secondary uses. Pressing X will switch it's use. When using a lance on a horse get up to full speed and you will see an icon in the bottom right, press X to couch the lance.... It does up to 600 damage per hit!!!
Pressing left alt will show you any points/persons of interest in a city.
Pressing left shift will allow you to zoom in. Most useful when using a bow/crossbow.
If you cannot create your own kingdom revert your game to v 1.0.4 in the steam beta tab and it'll work.n Just remember to change it back again as the snowballing in that version is out of control.
Double tapping W/S will instantly speed your horse up/ slow it down.
To gain reputation with a certain faction you can kill the thugs that hang around the back alleys in cities. This has been the most effective way to gain reputation.

Something to note: if you have too many live animals in your party they will no longer give you a speed boost and will start to actively slow you down. Mouse over the speed icon in the right hand corner and you will see "herd" as a negative modifier.
Sumpter horses and camels are better pack animals than mules, they are faster. By level 10 or so I was basically travelling around with like 150 horses minimum, and I wondered why I wasn't going as fast as I used to: that's why.

Yep army size of 20 is good when starting out, just be careful not to upgrade your troops too quickly before you can afford it! I almost bankrupted myself by upgrading my Sturgian Recruits before I was really capable of generating enough income to pay for their upkeep at higher tiers. I'd say you're better off keeping units as Recruits when you first start out, and then doing some trading/farming looters to earn enough money to buy: (1) enough Sumpter Horses to have a decent inventory capacity (10,000+ capacity); (2) enough regular horses in your inventory to boost your speed to around 6 (so you can catch almost any looter party); and (3) at least 1 workshop and/or caravan for a more stable income (to offset your troop wages). Then go nuts farming looters to rank up your troops and push them to tier 6 as fast as you can.

Thing I've found for leveling up troops is level them all up at the same time (because XP is measured by unit type so you gain it faster the more of the particular unit you have.) also attacking looters and autoresolving almost allways results in your men only being wounded so if you can find them 60 stacks of looters are a great way to level troops up to the point they have a sheild and are able to survive enemy archers.

    Ooh ooh i got one
When smelting and you get a part for a dagger/one handed sword/2 handed sword, select it and switch to the two of the 3 it wasnt for and it'll unlock that part for the others if theyre in the same location. Most often it works w dagger->oh and 2h->1h parts but also have gotten dagger and 2 hander parts from 1 hander parts. And no, that's not how its supposed to work they remain locked on the other pages unless i select them and switch. Blades and handles have the most compatibility. Smelting also raises your smithing but muuuch slower than any other way.
Finally, smelting high tier weapons (provide thamaskian steel) have about a 33% chance with the curious smelter perk to provide a new part, mid-high tiers aka 3 or more regular steels have about a 20% and less than 3 steel its about 15% and the stuff that only gives iron it's less than 10%. If you dont have the perk its half that and the rest i find negligible other than for selling the materials to buy the good weapons. Sadly theres no way that i know of to get specific parts i have tons of dagger stuff but only 2 super lame guards for swords despite smelting approximately 1000 swords

I noticed if you have too many animals (horses, mules etc.) you get a negative to map speed called something like "pack animals" (can't remember exactly now). It seems there is a sweet spot based on party size for the number of horses etc. you can have so it's best to check and sell some of them off.
Also, not only polearms are great, but also proper lances on horseback - look for ones that say couch weapon, like a Vlandian Lance. You can ride at speed and couch the lance (hit x when the icon shows above your health bar that it can be couched) and you will do a load of damage with it - 500+. Also, pay attention to the length of your secondary weapon. It may seem cool to wield a giant tier 5 broadsword but not if you can't swing it. I have come to prefer short swords and maces for sieges as they're much easier to use in tight spaces.

If you see a bandit camp don't go to it. Go to the nearby villages and check to see if there is a quest to clear it out. Also never duel the bandit leader. If you do the 4 guys behind him will be on the map and they'll be fast so it's hard to catch them. They'll go back to the camp spot and remake it. If you choose not to duel you kill those 4 guys with the boss and they don't spawn back on the map.

You can significantly increase the amount of money you can get from trash mobs by using the smithy to break down equipment.
Go to where Hardwood is cheap and turn it into charcoal. Most weapons will give you 1 hardwood back (from the handle), so you can easily make a net profit from selling the iron to towns, and often more than tier 1 equipment would sell for.

  • @krish698
    @krish698 4 ปีที่แล้ว

In outnumbered battles use the charge order conservatively. Keep the shield wall in place and your cav together or else the cav might end up chasing the fleeing infantry (which scattered from the initial charge) while your front line still needs help with the rest of the remaining enemies. Also in these outnumbered battles it is essential, that your initial charge is straight into the enemy infantry to break their morale asap therefore the enemy missile troops will have free reign at the start which again is why you don't want the cav to scatter to the winds chasing fleeing enemies when there is still job to do.

It’s good to have a lot of horses, but if you check movement speed, it shows your bonus for soldiers on horseback, but also shows the negative effect from having too big of a herd.
Try to balance the amount of horse where you have close to 0 on the herd penalty, and close to 1 on the soldiers on horseback.
I also noticed that my troops seem to level up more frequently if you auto-resolve fights? Not entirely sure if this is true but certainly seems that way. Not exactly a huge fan of not taking part in battles but it can help when rebuilding a bigger army

Every town you visit you should check to see if a tournament is going on. Team fights make it easier to advance to the next round and 1v1 fights are doable if you are hyper aggressive and dont allow them to respond. You can also circle strafe cheese them with a little bit of speed. If you arent confident about winning simply dont bet, but you should make the attempt every time anyway to level the combat skills you dont often use. Those skill trees have perks that can still benefit you.
On the other hand i dont recommend asking for tournaments and chasing them around. Contrary to what the arena master says, you got about a 50/50 chance of getting to the town before the tournament is over. In my game i only check towns that are extremely nearby or that i visit naturally, more often then not it has a tournament going on.
If you really want to farm tournaments i really think its faster to just pick a city and wait there every day to check. This seems a little ridiculous so it will probably be patched.

When you get prisoners from lords after a battle sell the ones with less experience. What I do is keep all of the top tier troops as prisoners. After a while, they are willing to join my army, ill just keep them to replenish my troops to cover the lost men after other battles. This means you have on hand recruitment whenever you need it and they are free and on hand.
    P.S.

Do tournaments for easy starting money in the early game. Use that money to buy mules and trade goods. Trade until you have 14K and buy a workshop. Workshop funds your army, trade and fight until your army grows and you have another 15K for the caravan. repeat until you own all of calradia

If you want to make a crossbow character, be sure to give some skill while creating your character. Min crossbow skill required is 20.
You can create an army and join your companions to that army for free influence. (kingdom page)
You can create additional parties with your companions and they will do quests and stuff for you improving your relation and earning you gold. (Earning you gold part may be bugged).
Marry and get children ASAP. They're slot-free companions so you can use them to everything, governing fiefs, caravans, additional parties.
Do not execute people too much. I have become -2 Honor because I've wiped out two clans (was very satisfying- they attacked my caravans ffs). And not imprisoning people is not helping with my honor, idk why
    And I love you Mac

@@matthewvorndran6931 Invite her to your party. I still dont have kids too and some people have kids when they're away from home which is suspicious both about legitimacy and game's logic

*Tip number 69* - auto-resolve fights with looters, they cant kill anything above peasant (only injure) which means you can get high tier army very fast

With trading, you can also mouse over the price in the tooltip which will pop up another tooltip to tell you, as a percentage, how much cheaper or more expensive that item is.

Tip 11: Do smithing. Refine wood into coal, smelt down weapons instead of selling. Sell what you smelted them down into. Gets more exp for levels and gets more money.

My main tip is having troops advance rather than charge as this way ranged units will always try and stay in range of enemies instead of rushing in and getting slaughtered

When I play trader I play as a caravan, I don't necessarily use the rumours, I just go to each town buying green and selling red as I explore.

You can also hover over the price itself so it can give you a percentage relative to the average cost.
