The DKC Soundtrack always gives me such a strangely nostalgic and melancholy feeling. I haven't played these games when I was a kid only heard of them and watched Lets Plays when I was a teen. The music is so unique and so, so good.
Technically, in Super Mario RPG, that's not intro text. It shows up only when Mallow does his Psychopath ability, which lets him read the enemy's thoughts.
It's likely that the disclaimer is a reference to the 1984 lawsuit between Nintendo and Universal Studios, where they alleged that Donkey Kong infringed on King Kong, only to find out in court that King Kong is public domain, and Universal doesn't own the character either. Nintendo later named a new character after the lawyer that defended them, John Bowsette. I mean, John Kirby.

I really wish you guys showed the joke/wordplay for the Guerilla in the Japanese SMRPG, because it's hilarious if you can read the language. In Japanese, Donkey Kong is spelled 「ドンキーコング DONKII KONGU」while the Guerilla is called 「ドソキーユングDOSOKII YUNGU」. The joke is that since the characters for ンN and ソSO are so visually similar, as are the characters for コKO and ユYU, it's directly referencing just how similar, yet off brand, the Guerilla is to Donkey Kong.
Lufia 2 was good, but it wasn't perfect, sadly. If you could somehow combine Lufia and Lufia 2, taking the best parts of both games, then you would have had a truly awesome game. They should have kept the battle system from the first game (it had a hidden ATB timer that merely paused the game when it was someone's turn) which made it much more dynamic and interactive than pure turn-based AGI-based like Lufia 2. Also, Lufia 2 was just too darn easy, Lufia 1's challenge felt way better, epic boss battles were actually epic, and even if you overlevelled, stuff was still a challenge. But yet Lufia 2 had better graphics, and some of its sound track was better (though Lufia 1's normal battle theme was way better).

"The localization team behind Final Fantasy VI" And by "team" you mean "one guy," who also is the one guy behind the localization for Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG, Ted Woolsey. It's insane how much crunch Square and Nintendo put him under for those translation jobs. Ideally he said he would need a year to single-handedly translate an entire SNES RPG. They gave him four months. Not to mention that he had to work with the limited cartridge space and text limitations (English uses way more characters than Japanese, meaning sentences are two or three times as long when translated and so commonly needed to be trimmed) and Nintendo of America's strict censorship policies (most evident in FF6 having to skirt around a main character attempting suicide and references to teen pregnancy). People can say what they will about the quality of the guy's scripts, but the fact he managed to get RPG translations done in four months, *by himself,* without them being completely unintelligible is remarkable.
