Hey Guthrie. Caught your show this week at The Underdog. Unbelievable. Each song felt like a journey into the unknown, full of intrigue and adventure until you would lead us back again. Seriously one of the best shows ive ever been to. Thank you, thank you. Just picked up your record from Glaser's today! Can't wait to listen.
Man this video resonated with me in many ways. Thank you so much! I just turned 46. My Mother died when I was 10. She made me a cassette of her singing “You Are My Sunshine” a few weeks before she died. She started me playing piano at 2 and was my biggest supporter in music. About to dive in to recording a record on my own on top of a full time career. Just about the only thing that keeps me moving is my commitment to working out and my overall health now more than ever. We need you for another 45.5 years at least man. Glad you’re taking a little time to appreciate how incredibly blessed we are to be in this human experience together, AND get to make music. At the risk of giving you TMI, I’ve got a couple tips for your colonoscopy. First, ask them for the smaller laxative. There are two versions and one is literally a gallon. It’s a lot of liquid and it’s tough to force it down. The other option (which I didn’t know was a thing until it was too late) is 12 ounces. It’s slightly more expensive so they don’t usually recommend it but it’s well worth it. Second tip, if you don’t want anesthesia you don’t need it. That stuff really messes people up sometimes so I went completely anesthesia free. They tried so hard to sell me on it and I told them to screw off.
Finish was killing. From 17.19 hi is showing the flexibility of his mind. Sooo easy and tasty. Thanks GT, listening to your playing is also brain exercise for me
Amazing playing as always. The wine talk reminds me of the Unknown Henson interview. “Now, I’ll have me a drank, and I will smoke a little reefer. I’ll even have me a little toot err now and then but I will NOT, I WILL NOT freebase cocaine.” lol
Thankful for you. Discovered you a few years ago in the Folsom Prison Blues video w/ TE, Bryan Sutton, et al. 30 seconds of your phrasing and I was hooked. Have gotten more mileage out of "It's just music friends. Nobody's going to get hurt here" than I can tell you. Fun. An idea: I know all the basics you talk about (shapes, arpeggios, pentatonics, scales) but you move so fast when you're free wheeling I just can't follow. I'm guessing I'm not the only one. How about a TH-cam session every so often called "Slow Class" where you really slow it down. I mean like, painfully slow for you. You're a tried and true thoroughbred and it's great. But sometimes, I just need a Shetland Pony :). Blessings.
@@guthrietrappmusic Thanks, Guthrie. Really kind of you to respond. I know your busy. I'll pinch my pennies and perhaps I can swing a lesson or two down the road.
