great video but i would clean the actual throttle body while im in there too I cleaned the IAC on my 08 TSX didnt fix my idle issues but once I cleaned my throttle body it stopped all of my idle issues it runs great now this goes for pretty much any K20 or K24 you need to clean both of these if your having any idle issues.

I found using JIS screwdrivers change the game on Japanese phillip heads. They are slightly different on the inner shape of the head and never had it strip the head on my once.

Do you have to do an idle relearn ? Or is that only when you clean the throttle body?

on my 08 TSX when u opened the throttle body flap(put the key in the ignition and have someone hold the gas pedal down) it was covered in black junk and crud took me 5 minutes to clean it up with a rag and some INTAKE SENSOR CLEANER(I would not recommend the strong stuff make sure you spray it on the rag and wipe not spray into the intake) cleaned it good and it idles great ever since no more idle dropping when breaking at a stop light or just sitting there idling it also fixed when i shift into gear the idle would drop to like 500 but stays at a solid 800-900 now cant even feel it.

    Use a JIS screwdriver.
Those two screws holding the valve motor on can easily be removed by cutting across them so you can use a flat screwdriver. A fine see l saw it dremel can be used. Once the unit is fully removed the rotating valve can be properly cleaned. Without doing this the valve can stick, causing high idle or even rev hang.

I have weird idle symptoms when stopped in drive. Also when heat kicks on or AC I have a slight dip in rpm and vibrations in the car. I have a 2008 accord 2.4, so Do I have an IAC valve or not? If not, what else could cause the issues above?

Curious what brand motor mounts you used? We have two 03 Accords one V6 and one 4Cyl. I of course went the cheap route and broke the front and pass side on the V6 car not sure if they were really cheap or because my daughter thinks it's a drag car! LOL I replaced them with the beck Arnley ones because the front oem Honda one is over $200 and she doesn't have a lot of money. I did cheap rock auto ones for my girlfriends 4cyl car. Even right after install the engine shakes really bad in gear. The idle seems fine maybe a little high until it warms up. I did notice the front motor mount is leaking fluid but the car runs great no CEL lights just shakes in drive. Maybe the idle air control valve? I'm going to buy the Honda mount because the car just flipped a 100k miles and we plan on keeping it as long as possible.

@@Donnythelatemodeltech; I took off and cleaned the throttle body assembly due to a surge between 1,000-1,200 at idle, but it persisted. I replaced the TPS (throttle control sensor) and recalibrated. Surge is gone, but now it won’t idle and stays above 2,600rpm. I am thinking it’s a vacuum leak, but I can’t find one.
