I’m a grandmother of 8 with no farming experience but I just love watching you take care of your farm, the animals and your family. You do a great job and you are a wonderful example and inspiration for young people who are working hard and building meaningful lives. Sending love your way:)
Human impact driver; It takes a genius to run a farm on "spit, chewing gum and WD4" (my Grampa). We thank all our hard working Farmers like FTR who just "keep on a keepin on" (my Mom) in spite of what fate throws at you! Enjoyed watching this video, FTR, and may your winter go smoother now that almost everything you own has been rebuilt! (or so it seems!) 😊 Thank you for sharing and thank you for contributing to America's food chain!
Your show takes many of us back to our youth. Even solving a cotterkey problem is fun to watch.
Tyler, sometimes no matter how hard you try, stuff goes on wrong and the best part about you is, you take in stride.
Last scene with the cattle at sunset is so pretty.
Having all that life around your home does good things for the soul of the people, especially the “ littles”
Hello Farmer Tyler Ranch ~
Is so wonderful to see someone being an example for excellent work ethics, & who is so inter-
resting to listen to as you solve the problems of the day
I love watching your videos your always calm and a very good teacher.😊
I don’t know about anyone else but where I come from front yard chickens are pretty common. Nothing trashy or to be ashamed of about that.
I agree...if someone doesn't like it it, tough. We all have our opinions and you don't have to please everyone.
There are days where fixing or repairing things seems like the only thing I do!😂😂
Thanks again for sharing. Appreciate your temperament to face off with difficulty and delay using calm determination to press through and accomplish you goals. Also, mingling into the mix you march on with relevant content. Not sure about anyone else but, I enjoy your videos. Blessings today brother. ☝️🙏🙌💪🇺🇸❤️🎯🤠
What a coincidence, our fly pressure is way down too! Mind you 16F temps and 4" of snow last night just might be contributing factors.
Some days are just ‘one step forward, two steps back’. Tomorrow’s another day. Buddy and Riveter!!! 😂
Chickens in the front yard is a beautiful thing.
Thanks for the longer videos lately Tyler. Great one as usual.
Glad you like them!
I don't wish bad luck on anyone but its nice to see that I'm not the only one that has days like yours. Keep up the good work
14:25 "Let's just pretend we didn't see that" -VGG 😂
Good Evening, Tyler and Callie! Rain 🌧️ is coming! A Confusing Life for the next two days! New Pens for Turkeys and Chicken! Fixing the Tire! Two days of problems, but you’ll survive! This is a Great Video! Moving the Cows! A lot of crying! Thank-you! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so innovative when it comes to improvising. Love your channel. Maybe that little bit of rain will help to keep the grass growing.
My vocabulary increases when you ID parts of your farm 🚜 equipment 😂
Such a pleasure watching your vids! I’m a fam girl of many years ago, so it brings back great memories! Side note, my hubby of 56 years sure could have used that doodad you have to break the tire off the hub, it’s very cool and doable. I can remember him driving over the edge to break it with me on the other side of the tire, but really great memories. Tx FT for taking us along!❤❤❤
Truly astonishing day. Best wishes.
Excellent work Tyler. As Always u Rock!
Sometimes no segway is ok. Just action with no explanation all the time is acceptable. Keep a cool head when stuff/breakdowns happen. Love watching you get the job done on your farm. 👍
Thanks for sharing farmer tyler ranch I enjoyed the video and I hope you have a great day
Hay Tyler good productive day you got a bunch done it may not seem like it but it was a productive day thank you for sharing blessings to you and your family
Plans are nice but I'm certain whatever you do on the fly will be productive.
I love the , "Human Impact Wrench"!
I use these tire plugs from Tech. They vulcanized together work great. Plugged a tire that a deer antler went through. Farmers 185hp front end loader front tire on the side wall had a hole.
Took that kit over and put I think 2 plugs in tire. Lasted 3 yrs. Feeds 600 head of cattle and used it for farm work. Lucky on that repair 👍
Tyler you are one busy Man., over worked and tried, To Much 10-24-2023❤. You do have a Beautiful Family Wife and 2 Children 👍🏽👍🏽❤️
Thanks for taking us along! Look forward your next video. Hope all goes well for you and yours.
I have to laugh at myself. Every time I come up with a question (ie. why don't you weld the disk), within 30 sec. you give me the answer. 😀👍
Juggling...everyday to keep the operation moving forward. Good update!
“Well, that ought to last for…. some amount of time.” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
💖💖💖💖💖
Hello Tyler to tighten the gang bolt leave on ground tighten the bolt. Raise it up , use a heavy sledgehammer hit the end of axle not bolt end, lower it tighten more, repeat you can hear the sound when you hit with sledgehammer when its tight. I also find that a patch inside tire is the best repair. Have a great day.
imagine how easy farming would be if nothing broke just weather ,sickness and markets to worry about
Using a welding rod with a high nickel content seems to work pretty well for welding disk blades
Its awesome that you can fix things for yourself[ love watching you work around the farm
I'm wondering what Rivet doesn't like about Buddy. It's got to be his size! Mind you Buddy does have an attitude that is in proportion to his bulk. Looking at him now, it is hard to imagine him as that tiny bottle calf chasing you around your backyard.
Always another thing, truer words ever said . Esp on a farm.
Loved the Ride along!
Well when it rains it pours lol but I new u can handle it good job going forward have a great day .
The outer disk being cracked is from turning too sharp with the disk in the ground. It stresses and flexes the disk not to mention its bad on the bearings.
Problems problems I know you can handle it and get things fixed.😊
Farmer tyler ranch I enjoyed the video
The tire of the disk should be off the ground and not rotating with with disk in the ground. You could pull the disk to the end of the field to change the tire.
I've never used rubber cement or another lube when inserting plugs. I've never had one fail by coming completely out. Maybe using the cement made the plug fail in that manner.
Wonderful information. Wonder what the answer is?
Wow learned something...did not know you couldn't weld disk blades...as they're so hardened...brittle.
No you should reach out to what the hell is to see if you can buy some of the tools off of them because they have brand new tools that came out of a storage unit that would suit your needs
Have you tried plug/patches? You have to break the bead and install from inside. Clean, rough inside of tire around hole like putting a patch on a tube. Patch has a rubber plug in middle you pull from inside to out thru hole after applying glue to inside of tire. They work much better than strand plugs
In the future, put a short brass valve stem on the disc, and put a long pipe on the pipe wrench for more leverage. Keep up the good work.
I really like your commentary to your videos.. You make it fun and real all in one.
Why dont you seed Fescue and Rye grass they are great winter growers in CA it can help supplement
Buddy is so big and awesome,
I agree with that! My T/A cable broke this morning, cutting hay!
Have you ever tried using 347 stainless welding rods on that high carbon steel? I have had decent luck when extracting broken high carbon bolts from castings.
GOOD AFTERNOON TYLER
Good job
Tyler,
I have tightened many gang bolts (tine bars) with two pipe wrenches. Go by a pawn shop or two and find a couple of 36 or 48 inch pipe whenches you don't beating the ever loving pe-wadely-do out of if you don't have such, wear your gloves and glasses and get'er did! When you get it snugged up, walk down the row and give each a love tap with a about a 3 lb. hammer and it will often brake any dirt and buildup loose.
As for that cracked disk, in a pinch cut a 1/4" plate about 1" over crack diameter and place it beside the disk. As you most likely know, that leading right disk takes the most abuse and wear. If possible to do so, move that disk to another position. It is typical for offset tandem disk plows to wear from right to left. While doing maintenance, evaluate wear and decide if rotating disk positions is viable. It may not be an issue for you and your acreage. My experience, on disks covering 14 ft and more, it is worth it. Enjoy your content, have a great day! 👋🤠
We learned to store our disk with the disks down and tires as far up as possible. Still half the time we had to air the tire up. It helps to buy a portable air compressor
Tacky is grandma hanging your shorts out to dry on the line in front from the mail box to the porch. Then the School Bus stops out front.
Nice video God bless
Those chickens cracked me up. After you removed the fence, They all went to the fence line and stood in a row. 😂You think you put them that way or trained them but we all know you didn't, I'm surprised you didn't say something about them. Alot of farmers when they move the cow's whistle or holler something simple and that gets the cow's moving.
Old disk blades make for nice wire anchors for corner posts 😅
Dude, again, listening to you talk to yourself cracks my shit up!!!
Thanks!
Not the best of days for Farmer Tyler, may tomorrow be better...
Years ago we had a gang wrench - basically a box end wrench that would fit the gang nut and about a 12” solid handle. It was heavy duty and we would pound on it with a sledge hammer to tighten the gang.
I love sweet Buddy boy! He's mighty special! I'd of thought Rivet would be used to him by now...especially since Buddy isn't in competition for Rivet's girls!😘 Hope you don't have anymore breakdowns disking the garden!
Enjoyed watching the video Tyler 😅
Thx again
I think the chickens would look good from the road
Been there and done that with a disk. I keep a couple extra disk blades around just for such an occasion.
Nice work
Hello From Mark In Kentucky; I wanted to mention that the inside of the broken disc would be good to keep to make a natural ready made shim with.
In the past, I have welded broken discs with 7018 3/32 welding rods before for cracks extending long ways out to the edge of the disc but I never tried welding a disc broken like what your disc was that was broken, So making a shim would be making good use of a broken disc.
With your plasma cutter, you should be able to cut the inside of the disc very cleanly to whatever size you need to make the broken piece work for a shim.
I also grew up on a farm and we didn’t waste anything if at all possible
The implement tires usually fit the “X Factor” in that the tires are a never ending process. I have dealt more than once with tires that have never leaked after sitting idle only to go flat after putting the tire on after trying to use it - It Is What It Is.
Deer antler hole I put about 6 plugs I believe. On 85' harrows.
Thank you for the video awesome
If each tap on each disk blade with a hammer or something hard while they are off the ground they should make a ringing sound if they are tight .
I’ve started changing our valve stems to metal ones that have rubber washers so they last longer.
so many farm machines dont need pneumatic tires
When I worked on a horse breeding farm, my friend had 7 vehicles die on her - most were Tractors and 2 were cars -she never lived it down
Get you a harbor freight cordless impact gun, well worth the money
add a couple large flat washers to the shaft. thats standard practice
Love every video
Dad always said there would be days like this, and it looks like you are having one of those.☹☹
thx
Buddy ❤❤
Build a box end wrench with a foot long or so handle, then hit it with hammer too tighten it
Other people’s opinions don’t mean squat!
Always hated to have to tighten disc spindles but I had 2 36 inch aluminum pipe wrenches & 6 ft cheater pipe that made it easier
l meant to ask why you didnt put a couple of bales under the roof of the covered part of the yard they would have a nice bed
If it's not one thing is another ain't nobody
Maybe you should put tubes in the tires
We used to run foam filled tires on our slip loader. Maybe they would work on your disk?
That’s not a bad idea
"Here is today's PLAN today for Farmer Tyler Ranch. Let's see what happens!"
Tyler what about brazing the disk?
dang…Human Impact Driver was effective, and innovative
Use what you got, not what you wish you had.
Why put bales in a shed with no roof? They will get wet and have no air circulation to dry out.
How could anybody not like buddy? 😅
I can’t carry you. 😂😆
I was kind of surprised that when you raise the wheels on your disc that they still turn. Do the wheels set the depth? I always had a 3pt disc and I had to run it all the way down so its weight would allow the disc to dig in. So that's why I was thinking the wheels would be completely up and off the ground.
