Their son, Troy Lovegrove (born 25 June 1985), contracted HIV in utero and died on 3 June 1993. 💔 Life can be so unfair. What was that child's crime. Pure misfortune.

They should show these type of films in schools because many kids and young adults think HIV/AIDS is no big deal--just pop a pill every day and go your way. While it can be controlled and the ‘80’s horrors are over, it’s still a life-changing disease, not only for the person, but for their partners, children, friends, etc. The fact remains that it’s still very easy NOT to get AIDS.

Vince Lovegrove was a pioneer for AIDS acceptance in Australia. The openness, honesty and bravery her demonstrated by making this film with his lovely wife Suzi who passed away in 1987 and the determination he showed in the fight for his young son Troy’s life with sadly ended in 1993. Vince passed away in a rode accident in 2012. He is a truely great Australian who’s attitude perfectly embodies our simultaneous reserve and resistance to praise, coupled with our outspokenness regarding our convictions, no matter the response. Love to his daughter Holly❤

Thankyou so very very much for uploading this. Troybee was my childhood best friend, wardmate and to this day remains the owner of a special part of my heart. I was with him, playing with his cars and teddy bears the night Vince was with Suzi when she earned her angel wings. I spoke to him on the phone the day before he was going home from hospital for the last time, and he passed away 3 weeks later. Over the past 2 years, the world has again been visited by a silent but deadly killer that doesn't care about race, religion, age, gender or the simply bizarre acts of ignorance and cruelty that have circled the old familiar block in the fight against COVID19. I only hope people realise education and prevention - and the vaccines - are tools that were not absolve in the early days of HIV and it was the Lovegrove family who first stepped up to show the world that the real fight for survival is helped by love, support and unity against the virus, not tearing each other apart...
I wrote a song about Troy the night he passed away. It is an instrumental, and within every key and chord progression is a reminder of the spirit of a Little Wise Old Man who showed everyone how to live a good life, even though he knew it wasn't going to be a long one. I hope Troy's movie A kid called Troy finds its way onto YT as it's just as special as this doco...

The husband (Vince) was never infected by his late wife (Suzi) is because it is harder for female to male HIV infection (0.05% per CDC).
Suzi's son, Troy Lovegrove, lived pass doctors expectations, due new ant-viral medications at that time, but also passed away due to AIDS-related complications on June 3, 1993.
Suzi's husband Vince Lovegrove, went on to marry Caroline Thompson from 1994 to 1997, which they had child born in 1995. Unfortunately, Vince Lovegrove, died in a car accident near Byron Bay, New South Wales on March 24, 2012

By providing a lot of information about the disease, by explaining the pain that HIV patients go through every day, by increasing the awareness of the disease, at least if we did not cure them from their disease, by showing our love, we would have been by their side and spent the rest of their days happily 😢

We all sin and come short of the glory of God. This is a very tragic story. Sexual immorality is one of the hardest vices to overcome, but there's NOTHING too hard for our Savior Jesus Christ! Yes, it's true that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus. David had an affair, and it cost him dearly, although he did repent, and God didn't remove the Holy Spirit from him, he did have tragedy after tragedy unfold because of his actions, and that of his son Absolom. Hopefully Suzi made her peace with God before she passed. We should always pray for mercy rather than judgment. Again, we ALL sin, and just because someone sins different than us doesn't give us the right to act as judge, jury, and executioner. Only Father God has that right. God bless
