    Go with silicone as well cost more but last longer better over all.

    Looks a little thin in certain spots. The old layer shows still a bit. Did you give it a second coat? Isn’t a silicon based layer longer lasting and higher performance than acrylic?

    • @wolffforge4839
      @wolffforge4839 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can get 5 gallons of acrylic sealer for the price of 1 gallon of silicone. Acrylic still has a 10 year life as long as there is no standing water.

      @@wolffforge4839 that roof he did was flat. He’ll have to recoat every 7-10 years. Silicone is lifetime guaranteed. Plus the labor to get someone to do it again is the real cost. Why build your house of straw when you can build w bricks?

      @@Furtivo95That's not what all the experienced roofers say about silicone though. I hear silicone can't be patched. Nothing sticks to it, not even silicone.

    I have been roofing for a long time anyone trying this should heed my advice if using this to do a repair or restore their flat roof. Proper coating application is as follows the area needs to be cleaned then an acrylic mastic / polyester (henrys makes both of these and they sell at home depot) 3 course on all seams and worn or damaged areas and at minimum 2 coats of coating. one coat will do nothing but make your roof look ugly and peel off fairly quickly. I recommend each layer be completely dry before applying the next coat and make sure there is no rain forcast for a few days after as this is water based and will wash off if not allowed to cure.

      Best way to spread in the open area is with a roller. Just spread the material on to a paint tray and roll it off from there. Worked great for us.

      Thanks for the comment, that material is not meant to ‘hide’ anything. We normally use primer for that. In this case, we utilize plenty of material, and even a few years after the installation. It’s still holding up great. Either way, we recommend to apply it every couple of years, just to keep up on the maintenance of the flat roof.

    A video on how NOT to apply elastomeric coating. Pity you did not bother to read the manufacturer’s installation instructions. For this product you would need 3 to 4 buckets for 800 sq ft. Needs far more extensive prep than you did. Feel sorry for your customer.
