He’s not raising the area with ponding water. He simply applied one layer even extending it outside of the area with ponding water. It may stop the leak but not the ponding. To stop the ponding he needs to raise and level off the deeper spot with the higher one.
@inappropriatemushroom4709 there's a ponding filler I believe it's buy APOC. Not sure it's possible to accept a seal over it once it cures though. I saw a video on TH-cam showing how they applied the ponding product.
There are different products on the market to fill low areas of ponding. Henry makes Pond Patch that works and there is also a product called Roofslope. You can try them and see what you prefer...
That's nice work. But before proceeding to roof coating roof cracks repair is the very essential for long lasting roof waterproofing and results as well. So far our experience is only coating is not enough to hold water leakages for a long time.
Well then the question is: Does this system endure ponding water and if so for about how long (obviously would vary by climate)? And how can it be proved without using the public and working professionals as the experimenters with expenses etc..?
We offer 10, 15 & 20 year renewable warranties when work is performed by an approved contractor. We have testing results to back up our claims and projects that have had our system on it which are now going in to year 20
Unfortunately, in my experience, it is very rare to see a proper solution applied. Flat roofs seem to be prohibitively expensive to service and in my area it is absolutely the contractors inflating the pricing making it almost no choice for building owners to opt for an actual permanent solution.
you're right... if i have to redo a large asphalt roof, even just to torch a new layer and all flashing and edges done... it might take me 2 days but i will take 10-20k for it depending on the size
It is not intended to build up where water ponds, it will hold up under ponding water. You can use a cement product to build up an area if need be, but necessary with our system.
Our coating is designed with marine resins so in the unlikelihood of the water being 2' deep and ponding for 2 weeks it would not penetrate or break down the coating.
@@inappropriatemushroom4709 its done by raising the structure, using a jack to raise the structure and screwing another 2x4 to the rafter to secure it.
Most roofing contractors don't specialize in flat roof ponding fabrication. Creative people will cut a 8 foot diagnol slope using plywood & torchdown roofing. In general,, usually ponding water will dry up in 5 days --> good gosh. But hay, if it dries in 5 days so be it. Some people pay 50k to turn a flat roof into a traditional roof. Ouch. If it's only 1 area, i'd say, clean it, prep it, and put silicone to withstand the 5 days.
@@kendalgee5808 that's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm a huge proponent of doing things right the first time. But if you can stop a roof leak with a band-aid thats going to buy you 5-10 years, and it's going to save you hundreds of thousands of dollars, that's a no-brainer.

Exactly, Johnny, this system will not get rid of the ponding much and hopefully it can endure its negative effects on the roofing system.

Cleaned the problem area, then proceeded to lay fabric and coating well into the dirty area...!?
Nobody's gonna know?
what is the fabric?
It is a proprietary poly-mesh blend used in conjunction with our coating to create a long lasting roof system.
Why not just sink the roof at the low point with a drain
This will last about a month or two. The cap sheet is oil based and that white jizz is water based. They naturally repel each other.
