That's a brutal amount of chiseling in one episode. The intensity makes me feel like I'm about to slip a pixel away and chisel out some unintended blocks. I really like the way you put some tea into the cups. And the results are just truly satisfying. I'd love to sit on one of those chairs after long hours of writing and just crack some bones. Nice to see that this season is finally coming to an end. I was hoping to see all the different jonas devices made before the series end, but I don't want you to wrung out every last bit of content just to stretch out a couple more episodes. That being said, it might be nice to go out with a bang and chunk reset on the last couple of episodes. Just to see how much of the house got nuked and if it even brought anything remotely interesting to nearby areas. Anyways, can't wait to see the tree-planting episode!
Thank you! Actually the chiseling wasn't such a huge task... or at least it isn't anymore. I'm pretty comfortable with the chiseling system and am starting to get an eye for "I can see this shape in that amount of material." I hope other people can take what they see here for inspiration to delve into the world of chiseling!
Watching the planning of the table and chairs made me realize that you could have a multi-block 2x2 single seat chair on a wonky angle. Man this game is cool.
Oh yeah you can do some crazy things! I like to keep chairs to one block, personally, so they don't look too chunky. But some fancy dining chairs could be fun in a future series!
Another delightful video. Your furniture-making skills are phenomenal. I quite enjoyed the "worldess" segments when you were chiseling. The little aside showing you eating, sleeping, and cooking more food was a perfect touch. I recommend this style for relatively short detail-heavy build segments in the future. I was a tiny bit surprised that you chose to make the entrance to the garden in the center of the longest side. I thought for sure that you would end up using the area near the door where you cannot put any fence as the entrance, especially since you would theoretically be coming directly into the garden after wandering out of the nearby door in the morning. If it were located near the door, you wouldn't have to walk through a bush, either. I also have ne recommendation for a second decorating project for the garden if you get the urge. As it stands, in the real world runoff from the nearby roof would render the ground too muddy to enjoy for part of the year. You might considering putting some sort of flooring into the immediate area where the table and chairs are located. I can't really think of a good block in terms of pattern that isn't path block - and you probably would think it was both the wrong color for the garden and would be a bit overused if added there. It might make an interesting part of a video to show how one can replicate the texture of one block in the colors of another and chisel out a "pale path block" for use in the garden. It's way more labor than the project deserves, but you're coming to the end of the series and this is another kind of advanced building technique.
Thank you! I could probably put some kind of sand down, or even gravel, for realism and drainage. But that's the nice thing about building in a fantasy game: we get to pick and choose what parts to make realistic and what to skip! Lol
I remember when me and the lads used to hide. Now the loot from the storms is so good we can't resist staying outside. Now what we do is, I process them because I usually play as Hunter. So that we we generate extra loot. Because it does seem that hunters do generate more loot from drifters.
I wonder if that's why my previous character, a Hunter, tended to get a LOT more stacked temporal gears from double-headed drifters... that's a REALLY handy feature to have when considering we can get Jonas parts from several enemies now, and those parts are SUPER rare!
I like to sprinkle tips and tricks into episodes naturally! (I actually covered this specific topic a while back, which is why I didn't say much about it here). There is a caveat with chiseling stone blocks, which is that you can't use those chiseled blocks for things like bricks, or in the case of igneous rocks, for recipes like querns and so on.
So I know it's probably not conducive to your recording schedule, but I think a class-focused multiplayer series would be really cool. Could be cool to see some larger scale building projects, like making an entire village. Regardless of what you do, I think it could be cool to mess around with the world generation parameters, do something in a vastly different world than this one. Like a water world, a mountainous world, or even a hot desert/tropical world. This could absolutely influence your building style, as well. But I definitely like the idea of a more mod-heavy series. Just know, whatever you choose, we'll be there to watch it!
While a dedicated multiplayer series just isn't in the cards for me right now, I think you'll enjoy what comes next. Spoiler alert: your comment touched on a couple of the things I'll be doing for the next series! ;) Do with that information as you will!
Oceans are currently not worth it unfortunately. I really just use 90% landcover to get the rivers mod working. Hotter biomes sound interesting but I think the vanilla game lacks a lot in those areas, especially in regards to animals. Warm temperatures are I think also completely meaningless since there's no thirst mechanic. I'd like him to use the Plains and Valleys mod though. So much better terrain generation imo.
that one voxel in the big window will never be fixed in this series. while the series will come to an end, the window voxel will always be remembered. in case youre wondering you can see it clearly at 24:33 . its on the left side, near the middle, 3/4 of the way up. its a wood voxel that needs to be replaced with the glass/ice.
@@Kurazarrh You could also fix the two voxels on the left bottom front part of the chairs 😅 ...or make us try to unsee it, whatever you feel like. The set is still lovely

I thought of that later and went back and tried it, but no beans. Turning the music slider up didn't help! The only thing I haven't tried is turning up the music slider and then restarting the game, in case there's some bug where they only look at the value of the music slider that was set when the world boots up for a session.
@@Kurazarrh I just gave it a test now in 1.19.3 and I don't seem to be able to recreate that issue. Having it set at 0, placing the cylinder and then raising it to above 0 plays the music, same for having music set higher and then playing it.
@@Rythillian Hmm... Very strange. Did you install 1.19.3 from the full installer, or did you upgrade from an earlier version? I did a full install in 1.19.1 and then upgraded to 1.19.3. Sad to see this series come to an end, but I'm sure there will be more to come. Also, those 2 chairs are magnificent, you are a master in your craft, there is only one thing (or 2 to be exact) voxels missing on the bottom front left of the chair, other than that they are PERFECT
Thank you! I noticed those missing videos during editing and figured someone else would spot them, too! Not to worry, there will certainly be more to come!
15:14 You can chisel a fence there but you probably have to have a larger surface for the actual fence to connect to it. I did something similar with a fence that sat against the edge of a house that had chiseled bricks in the corners and just added like a wooden plate in the area where there wasn't brick. Looked pretty legit but might be a bit more work to find something that visually fits with the round door frame.
The difficult part with the fence is making it look like it should connect without turning it into a brick, yeah. Plus, the fences are like... 3.5 or so voxels thick, so they never line up! @.@
@@Kurazarrh Yep. In my example it was fairly easy because I could just fit a wooden plate between the chiseled out stone bricks, which fit very well. I guess for your corner you could maybe make some sort of post that has another beam angling into the ground that's basically in the same block space as that part of the door frame, but not directly connected. Sort of like this: TTT|\ That at least could close the gap a bit and make it a bit smoother looking, and wouldn't strictly have to look like the fence itself. I dont know if youve seen it or not, but the slanted display cases mod updated. Also, cant wait to see what mods you decide to play with. I would recommend the Butchering mod, I think you might like it, with your more realistic outlook on playstyle.
