You are allowed a stone guard and a dash table as they are for decoration and are practical, certain types are illegal as they can block the view of the road
I'm glad I'm retired me I started in 19,76 can remember top of the range truck in the 80's I had Mercedes benz 2025 then the 2033 then the 2035 powerliner with the first eps, does any body remember them, there were no triaxial trailers, only tandems, I hated ropeing and sheeting, look forward 2 for vlogs Jay, wish it were like that back in my day pal, looking forward ta ure next vlogs
This is like watching myself at work yet you come across as very amiable. With the losing weight thing; I found keeping a bunch of bananas on the dashboard and no other food in the cab stopped me from comfort eating. Then with the breaks I would eat my lunch whilst unloading, then go for a walk for the whole 45 minutes. Best of luck buddy, keep trucking, keep safe. Cheers
good luck on the weight loss luke. its not easy sitting all day my family been hgv drivers for like 50 od yrs i miss the days when i could get out in the trucks
That's a really beautiful truck.red and shiney.is you boss ok with you painting your truck. He must be a good boss.My bosses never had a sence of humor.wouldnt even let you clean your trucks
The chrome prices in the cab do not come off of the dash so you will have to gloss them in place when you do. The handles on the other hand always get broken easy so don't paint them. Nice truck we used to service heavy haulage man's and they were 480's pulling 150+ tons and they managed no bother.
Hi Luke. As regards to the container on the arse end mate your suppose to always put the weight in between all axles of the truck and trailer.. ie the middle of the trailer
@@RickBray well I did have a choice. It could have gone on either the front or back. That was the question. You've come on saying it needs to be in the middle when it isn't possible. Have you used a combi trailer before?

Good blog mate new truck looks ok sure be better when u got all the bits done hope see it at truckfest. Interesting seeing trailer split always wondered how it works. Take care.
Hi mate. Yes I'm aware. Luckily, its not an indicator, its just a side light. Its not too much of a big problem because lights are not on as it light outside. i kept putting it in while out all week and it kept coming back out again :D All fixed now though once i got back to the yard. cheers for pointing it out. :)
agree. I like scanias and i have driven them but its getting boring with them all over youtube. I used to watch this stavros guy here at youtube but cant stand him anymore. He always bash other truck brands and compare old beaten up 1 million mile trucks with brand new scanias.
I always scouted out the route when I used to pull a caravan. Better safe than sorry. Doing your homework makes sure you don't come up with any nasty surprises
Like I said on FB, I did that drop in Hungerford about 20 years ago in pre Google days, needless to say I missed Station Road and ended up driving south about 3 miles before I found a farm entrance to turn round in. It certainly was tight getting in and out of there.
Woo hoo. Chandler's Ford my home town. I know who you were delivering to there but not letting on here! Nice to see my roads from a truckers view point!
10:24 Get in half an hour break, how does that help? First break 15 minutes, 2nd break 30 minutes? Last break always has to be 30.. (at least where I'm at)
Sorry if you've answered Luke mate but have you changed firms? Got my class 1 assessment soon! Currently on 26t Volvo in Avonmouth atm Tramping in my own car lol. Really enjoy your videos mate. Im so tempted to go for my class 1. I keep being told they are easier to drive than rigids and i find rigid a piece of piss to drive.
Just a quick question that hopefully, someone can answer. Do drivers own the trucks themself or does a company they work for own them? And how much would a truck like this be? because it looks expensive to me.
Most drivers work for a company who own the truck the driver will use. Some people (owner operators) will buy a truck themselves and operate that. They are very expensive and the cost of one of these MAN TGX 26.480 trucks is about £19,000 for a second hand XLX (middle height) cab from 2010
You get a decent plateful at a Toby and you can get a Toby carvery takeaway both breakfast and lunchtime Breakfast takeaway is £4.69 in The tray you just need to have your own cutlery etc And lunchtime takeaway is just approx £7 ish
More interesting than most of the truck blogs I've watched. At least you seem to know your eggs, and don't make a mountain out of molehills just to add that false peril that I loathe so much in the Stobart & Supertruckers type shows. I'll look out for the next one, and subscribe even.... woo-hoo.
I was watching a trucker vlog he had go pros on the sides front & dash cam he could change them to different angles hope you could do this in the near future 👍 Jason Walton
@@sambosomethin7844 No, that's why you have a split trailer, so you can break it up in 2 halfs to be able to unload it. It drives very uncomfortable with a 20ft container all the way on the back, less grip on your axles of the semi itself.
Great video as normal! Were you on the m25 going anti clockwise today around half 10 this morning(Thursday 4th April)? Blue trailer? I'm sure it was you. But I was travelling the other direction so didn't see.

MAD DHALSIM it can be hard when you are new to get a full time job. Try agency’s and when you have got about a year or so company’s tend to look at you and are more likely to take you on full time. It is also depends on the area you live in. But agency tends to be the best way to get experiences and work. Good luck and hope you do well and drive safe.

you should invest in a drone for some amazing shots of parking / scouting new areas!!
That's so funny, I've been thinking this in all the videos, it should be a truck add-on that lives on the cab roof.
Great idea!!
It always amazes how tight the roads are over there. It would definitely take some getting use to.
You have to be a special breed to drive around here. Some of the places you deliver to when you come out you think how did i get there.

Hi Luke. As regards to the container on the arse end mate your suppose to always put the weight in between all axles of the truck and trailer.. ie the middle of the trailer
On a conventional trailer yes. This trailer is designed to carry on the back and the front.
It's impossible to put it on the middle of the trailer. The trailer doesn't slide back
Why ask then if you had no choice, I was just saying
