    One of Niners' trait this year is making adjustments.
    Kyle, DeMeco making adjustments; that's why Niners are a second half dominating team.
    And Purdy making adjustments on the fly; he's a quick learner.

    • @LoanwordEggcorn
      @LoanwordEggcorn ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Yes, we've seen Purdy take coaching on the sideline and make changes to correct mistakes in-game multiple times. That's very impressive since not all QBs can do it.
      It also means Brock has more upside as he continues to learn and gain experience.

    • @Purge269
      @Purge269 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Loanword Eggcorn yeah this kid has a high IQ. He literally commands the line and makes changes on the fly after reading defenses also. I remember one play , the rb was was to shift and the WR was shifting to the opposite side. Purdy saw the blitz and halted their shifts to block but also audible Juice to block and shed , and he ended up the target for 20 yards.

    • @elainescott7840
      @elainescott7840 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Making adjustments was a predominant asset of the great 49er dynasty teams. You knew if things weren’t going as planned, in the first half, Bill Walsh would have it figured out in the second half. I’m happy Shanahan and company do that well. I think it’s going to be a great season.

    great work David! love the breakdown of Kyle's offense, I couldn't imagine how a d-coordinator must feel having to game plan for all those weapons on Kyle's offense (deebo, aiyuk, kittle, CMC, mitchell and jennings) AND the scheme that puts these incredible yards after catch athletes in space. It reminds me of the Mike Martz offense in St. Louise back in the early 2000's when it seemed like everyone was wide the heck open..going to be fun watching Purdy play. At this point, he's made himself some money for his career and its so fun to watch. keep up the good work David.

    On that Pass/Run play to McCaffrey you highlighted, you can also see Deebo waiting for a pitch with huge lanes opening up down the middle because that Seattle linebacker stayed out. Great play with huge potential either way. 👍

    • @joeschmidt6597
      @joeschmidt6597 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brock misses wide ass open guys like this down field and leaves big plays on the table at least twice a game, but since he usually completes the shorter yard pass play anyway everyone thinks it isn’t a big deal. He should be able to clean these up in the offseason. But if you end up not getting an points on that particular series then they are the type of missed opportunities that directly make the difference between beating a Mahomes or Burrow.

  • @Based_investor
    @Based_investor ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The play that really makes me excited is the play everyone criticized him over. The one where Aiyuk quit on his route. Yes, Deebo was wide open underneath but the single high safety was coming down to trail him, leaving Aiyuk 1-on-1 on a deep post in which the CB had outside leverage. Purdy defers to the deep shot if it's there. It's been so long since we've had someone who will take those risks and make defenses pay.

  • @davehowes5162

    After watching Purdy play with poise and command last season, Im convinced that having taken all those snaps in college is a major reason he doesnt look a rookie QB. According to Steve Young, he has the "force", which I take as his ability to not only make the quick reads but also an intuitive sense of problem solving which gives a sense of possibilty on evey snap. This kid is real deal. Go 9ers.

    Great breakdown. That fourth read to McCaffrey for the touchdown, along with hus general field vision, is what has me excited about Brock. That play displays processor speed, which I consider a talent just like a forty time. It's the most important talent for a quarterback and the one that is mostly likely to be overlooked during the draft. That's why TB and Brock were drafted so late. Brady, Mahomes, and Brock have elite processor speed.

They came with an all out blitz purdy could see he was about to get drilled but held firm and hit Kittle 10 yards down the field for a first. As soon as he threw the ball he was getting drilled.. zero panic.

  • @LoanwordEggcorn

    Thanks for the breakdowns David.
    3:38 Brock is still learning what's open in the NFL. In college this may not be open. In the NFL, it's wide open.
    11:56 Kyle had Brock throwing shallower crossing routes and deep ins, for example against the Raiders, but has been working deeper in more recent games as the timing and trust mature. Most of those have been to Brandon Aiyuk. There's a logical progression of deeper and deeper timing routes, gained from experience with more playing time.

      49ers defense is doing "better than okay." Football is a team sport and the 49ers are gelling at the right time. Historic series unfolding....

    Clean pocket, patience for 2nd level receivers, the team around him is really good, so the defense can't lean in on any 1 aspect of the offense, and the 49ers do a fantastic job at play design and timing (or play calling sequence).... setting Purdy up for success, LG!!!!!

    Every real 49er fan new Brock was the best Qb out of all 3 in the beginning of the season

    Quick feet, Brock sets his back foot exceptionally well on every pass, very few awkward pass attempts without a solid base.

    My heart sank into my stomach when Jimmy G went down. I basically just saw the season in flames in front of my eyes. Purdy delayed that until the NFC-CG, then he went down and our season went up in flames.
