He would've won Rookie of the year if he played a full season. What a talented young man, hope this is the start of a legendary career.
I wouldn't say that it was good for him to sit for 12 games and learn the offense I don't think he would of had the same success if he started and played a full season. And got to remember defenses did not have a whole lot of film on him so it was easy for him to pick apart defenses. Yes he will be a good qb just not an elite he got lucky on some of them throws

That excuse keeps getting used and it needs to go. There is no amount of film that can stop what purdy was doing. Purdy has one hurdle now to becoming an elite qb and one hurdle only. Rehabing his elbow. If his elbow can get back to 100% he is a top ten qb, potential for top 5. If his elbow doesnt come back...well, we have the memories.

I think Josh Johnson’s performance at qb showed how much Purdy actually contributed to this offense. No matter how many weapons the 49ers had or who the coach is, Purdy was an integral piece to the offense. In Brock we trust
Not taking away from Purdy at all (cause he's played like a starter), but Josh Johnson is like...the lowest of the low. He's not really a backup QB, more like a practice QB. He's been on 22 different NFL teams since 08 and that says a lot. He's garbage. Purdy is a starter and potential future star though.

I knew they would leave that play out because Aiyuk dropped it. The play that Purdy made scrambling all around, taking a huge hit and throwing a laser in the back corner of the end zone hit Aiyuk right in the hands. That play was the definition of a Highlight Reel!
I’m sorry but guys I love Aiyuk and Purdy but I have to let y’all know that if you watch the replay carefully he didn’t drop it, the db swatted the ball and it was good defense. Just have to save my man Aiyuk he’s a hell of a receiver. Still best play imo if you read this go and spread the word bang bang
@@mastahchief661 - agreed. give credit to the defense. Brock scrambled like crazy, but they stayed disciplined. When Purdy rolled right, they had a defender at the goal line, and one that stayed in front of Brandon. Still, it was close.

As a niner fan I never expected a third string quarterback to do this. Was a magical ride to witness Brock go out there and lay it all out on the field. It’s a shame what happened in the NFC championship, but at the same time that’s how football goes sometimes. I hope they name him the starter, because I see a future with him at quarterback. Hopefully ownership and management does as well. Go niners! 😄⛏️
It was very heartbreaking to watch this season end the way it did for us. However, I'm confident in John Lynch. I think we will have a playoff & superbowl contending team for he next 10 years easily. As long as we stay healthy!
Maybe thats what his Strength was? Nobody Knew who he was -coming in except he was the last pick- Period. So no high pressure expectations- And he's not Scared- AT ALL- Dudes got moxie- So he went out - Let it Rip- (used his playmakers- his Ferrari's- ) let's Hope he Heals up in Time (but don't rush ANYTHING- Tommy john surgery is 12- 18 months - and Their usually not right until their 2nd season- Thats Brocks other option - if it gets worse - or was worse when they open him up)Just goes to show you - The ones who are most Gifted ATHLETICALLY- or the biggest - Strongest - Fastest players Aren't always The Best player for your Team. And BROCKS got something you can't measure.... But Dont Give up on Lance Either. (I'd like to see- Brock - and Lance- packages for Both- Like the saints with Brees- and Taysom Hill- But Brock would be the primary.

BP made this season so exciting. I think a lot of us can relate to Brock- an underdog who never lost faith in himself and just needed a shot. His number was called and he took advantage of the opportunity. BP deserves to be the starter and if healthy he'll prove it this summer.
He literally spoiled us in the back half of the season. We didnt taste defeat from mid-season to the championship game. I was having a BLAST.

I LOVE the passion the commentators have for Brock. Everyone just in amazement at what he’s done. My favourite was the “are you kidding me” when he put the brakes on the rushing lineman and drilled it to Deebo. So excited for next season and I hope he makes a full recovery and comes back even better. What a season.
I really like Purdy. Humble and doesn't feel as if he has arrived. What a gem they found with the last pick in the draft.

I come back and watch this video every so often. So grateful to have witnessed this in real time. Every game with Purdy at the helm was exhilarating. He’s IT.

Purdy went from Last overall pick Mr Irrelevant, to having his name chanted in the stands, to being the starter for 6 games, and to now being San Fran’s franchise QB and full time starter. Incredible.
Purdy gave me more confidence and more hope of the future in one season than Jimmy did in 4 years.
Whenever Jimmy threw the ball I always cringed because chances were it was either a good throw, and overthrown, or intercepted.
With Brock I get excited, little things like that show how promising this kid is

If the pass had any angles to it, jimmy would always underthrow it, either causing the receiver to stop, or a full on interception. He threw lasers over the middle, but any arcing outside pass and any dude in the crowd could do better.
That first TD to CMC is perfection. Ball was out of his hands before CMC's head came around. Defense couldn't react in time. This is what separates Brock from the others.
This was such a special season even though it ended without a ring. Watching Purdy play brought back a level of excitement I haven't experienced since Kap
Colin pimpleneck was a disaster. We got rid of a 3 time pro bowl QB to play a wannabe civil rights leader.
His rookie season was so much fun to watch. I kept waiting for him to fall back to earth, but he just kept playing good football. He's legit my favorite QB in the league to root for right now.
Brock Purdy has a bright future ahead of him. This season came up short but it couldn't have been as magical as it was without the determination this kid and this team have shown. As part of the Faithful, I salute you Brock!

It's rare for a kid in his first game as a NFL QB to have that kind of confidence without being cocky or reckless. He's a leader. He's the man in San Fran.
For rookie Brock Purdy to have all-star pocket presence and movement was crazy. Loved this season, no matter the end result. He's baaaaack!
Hope he heals quickly. Niners need to look at their offence though, they’ve gone through 4 QB’s this season because of injuries and ended with an injured on on the field, thats not great. They need to commit to Purdy and use the money saved to get a couple of big experienced offensive linesman or something to protect him.

Not really. He was getting first round grades his JR year at Iowa State. He stayed in school too long and put a bunch of bad tape out there. He’s still a super talented guy.

Purdy is a fighter, competitor, athlete, and a hard worker. There is no doubt in my mind that he will make a full recovery and come back better than before. Mans was ballin out of control!!!

There were many plays where he showed off his athleticism, his creativity, his extreme accuracy and strength in the red zone. Brock Purdy is the real deal.

It's been a hot while since we've seen this level of electric play out of a rookie. He certainly has the highest ceiling supporting cast in the league, but that doesn't negate how incredibly talented he truly is. Can't wait to see his career unfold.

His movement when the defense collapses and it's just him on 2:27 is INSANE. Very aware and able to move like that in moments where it's just him is huge for solid plays.
This feels like equal amounts of a Kittle highlight reel as it is one for Purdy. Brilliant chemistry between those two.

he wasn't insane overall, but especially considering he was drafted as mr irrelevant to be the 3rd string QB who nobody ever thought would see the field outside of preseason, he was really good. Efficient and didn't turn the ball over, which is all the team needed. He had some really good throws but also had a few wounded ducks that still made good plays because of the talent on that offense, but he outdid any expectations. If he'd won only 1 game with a good % and no picks it would've been a success for him, but he went so far past what anyone thought possible. As an eagles fan I hate that he got hurt and would've loved to see that game play out with Purdy, unfortunately Shannahan insisted on blocking a top 5 edge rusher with a tight end and we saw how that turned out, hopefully he heals well and continues developing

Brock brings so much promise to QB position for the Niners. Even if for some reason we go with Lance cause of Brock’s injury or Lance determined #1 we all know he can come in and sling it and win. Wish he didn’t get hurt last week but the future is bright for him.

Brock Purdy is what we been looking for
What I really see is Shanahan's creativity in play design. Purdy has great execution, and that's why he needs to be the starter.
Hard to imagine him playing poorly for them this year if he stays healthy. The kid makes quick decisions, has a fast release, throws accurately and can extend plays with his legs if needed. The Niners can take solace in knowing that, while they may have whiffed with Lance, they may have gotten a long term starting QB with the last pick in the draft.
Those guys are awesome! Such teamwork - such fire - they just keep connecting and the second and third efforts are unbelievable.
Brock is an awesome quarterback - but the chemistry - the fire - everyone is pulling 150% - Brock's passing and mobility are unbelievable - Just as unbelievable is how the receivers pull a rabbit out of the hat to get open - then the receivers go above and beyond - as well as teammates blocking to turn good catches into unreal gains or touchdowns.
There is such chemistry in these guys - they *All Believe in Each Other* and play like they are possessed - a total team effort - everyone going above and beyond - they so believe in each other and repeatedly pull off impossible gains over and over again.
Truly Amazing Team/Teamwork - no heroes - Everyone Playing Their Hearts Out.

As a Seahawks fan, I thought we'd get the 49ers this year, once their 3rd string came in. I was so wrong, ended up rooting for Brock towards the end of the season. It'll be a crime if he's not their starter.

I'm a casual NFL fan. I don't particularly care for statistics nor do I have a preferred team. With that being said, watching this guy was awesome.

Pretty amazing. He's good in all situations, including pressure and screens. And he never seems to lead hi receivers into bad situations.
