    In many cars (specially GM) hose clamps get loosen after 10-20 years. Those clamps which are usually used for washing machine hose are great and much nicer to work with than those clip clamps which you need special too to clip it open or closed.

    Never had an issue with the Plazmaman clamps at 60psi and 2200whp. Highly recommend them.

    Appreciate all the work going in to these tech tips Broomy, and a price comparison for the various options would be good. I'm sure the channel will grow pretty quickly.

    The last 102mm aluminum V-Band I welded on had a stepped locating ring with an O-Ring seal.

      That’s pretty cool ! I mainly use v bands on exhaust so I’ve never seen one with an o ring setup. Some have a tounge and groove type arrangement to promote a better seal and some don’t. What brand was the v band you used ?

      @@BroomysGarage it was literally the cheapest one I could find on eBay, ran about $30 US shipped.

    Thoughts on Breeze Constant Tension Clamps. Specifically the Breeze CT-350L

    Good to see you found an easy solution to the leak, some customer feedback on your fix to the supplier might be worthwhile 👌👍

    My hose keeps coming off , the garage reckons it's the stage 1 I'm running , making too much boost , although sounds like BS from a stage 1, what would be best way of stopping the hose from the intercooler to the turbo, without pulling out the turbo as it's bitch to get to

      Did you ever fix this issue?

      @@taaappp - yea most cars you just have to put a silicon sleeve and clamps but the mercedes has parts in the way that doesn't allow it so I took the pipe apart and placed high temperature gasket sealent before and after the o-ring inside the pipe and placed it back together and let it sit for as long as possible essentially creating a much better seal than what the o-ring could do

      @novasigma5964 I'm glad you fixed it, and thanks for responding. My charge pipe kept coming off of my intercooler with those screw clamps. I went to the part store and found these clamps that had a bolt head that I torqued to 90 pounds and could hand up to 100psi. Hopefully, it stays on.

    Hey Broomy have you seen much (or used) the wiggins style clamps before? I know they’re $$ but have never actually looked in depth as to how exactly they clamp with virtually no fooling required to open/close them

    • @BroomysGarage
      @BroomysGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Wiggins ones operate the same as the proflow one in this video in theory. Same o ring, ferrule and latch setup.
