Did you change your camera setup in the last few months? The footage looks much more fish-eye at the edges of the frame than it used to in say your "Helping My Wife Tackle a Double Black She's Avoided For Years!" from a few months back. The fish-eye effect makes it unwatchable (for me) in the "theater mode" in a browser. I immediately get that motion sick feeling. I love it that you came here to Galbraith.
Great video! Is there a way that you can tell if a bigger jump is "lippier" or not before you hit it for the first time? Is there something that you do to guard against a lippier jump if you can't tell by looking at it?
Yes but it comes down to experience and being exposed to a lot of different jumps. In general steep lips will feel lippier than flat lips, and jumps with smaller (quick) radius lips have a kickier feel, but its also dependent on the speed/size of the jump. A blue sized jump will feel fine at 15-25mph, but if you're going 40mph, that same lip would feel a lot more kicky.
I have spent years playing around different angle/setups and have found what works best for me. I don't run chest cams for several reasons. 1. They are very uncomfortable (they have to be really tight not to bounce) 2. Sweat always drips onto the lens and sometimes you don't know about it until its too late. 3. They move with the angle of your chest so if you pump terrain the camera is constantly tilting up/down and the footage is unwatchable.
Hello :) how would you recommend a reach for my height on a hardtail like dartmoor primal? I have 179cm and have to choose between 445 and 470 reach. What would be better ?
Really fun to watch you on my home trails. Come back soon!
The jump line with the your shadow was a cool view. Wish I could rail corners the way you can.
hope all is going well with you Phil! Keep doing what you're doing!
Nice video man nice to see you posting so much
Man imagine riding trails by Nico vink and the shire crew in one day, area is blessed lol

@@SkillsWithPhil Thanks!
I’d love to see you ride with a chest cam! I think the angle would be cool to see bc of fast you can ride over tech.
With how gnarly he rides I think you take the chin for granted. The chin smooths it out a ton
@@Ben_Kasper Is he running chin or top of helmet mount here?

Love your channel so much man. What stem tool kit do you use on this bike? Is the one up lite or their regular?

Hi Phil 😀
🚴🚴🚴
No, you took the left one. n_n
That pun ran through my mind as it was coming out of my mouth hehe
Hell yea! Stoked to see you ride here. Did you hit up the cedar dust pro line? You’d probably like it more than blue steel
No, i rode the black line next to it a few days before and everything in that area was super overgrown so i didnt bother going to check it out.
Trail difficulty rating is a bit of a shitshow, isn’t it? Super variable standards (in my region, at least)
Dude how come you cut your hair??
Because i wanted to.
@@SkillsWithPhil cool,
