- Organist Bernard Winsemius performs Sonata no. 2 in C minor for All of Bach. Seated at his instrument, the organist may have the means at his disposal - but does he also have the mastery? This is a pertinent question in the case of Bach’s demanding organ sonatas, with their three fully autonomous parts in two keyboards and pedal.

Fifty-two years ago I learned the Vivace movement. I was thirty years old at the time, physically fit and mentally acute. Being able to play it gave me immense pleasure. Unforgettable. Now I am in my eighties and disabled. No more sonata, no more Bach. I am just a listener, but even that gives me pleasure.
I can't hear "no more Bach". Even if you can't play anymore, there's still a lot of Bach left :)

Tom Cloyd do you know where I could find a good recording of the Bach English suits on organ. I know they are harpsichord compositions but a few organ recordings would be interesting.
@@m-hayek1985 I'm sorry but I do not. There must first be a transcription. I find it hard to believe that such does not exist somewhere, perhaps in a PhD dissertation somewhere, but I don't know. You might begin you search for this here: imslp.org/wiki/Main_Page

Bach's music is an ultimate, cosmic dance.
The master's playing is clear and crisp. His fingers are light on the keys. I love the the contrast between the parts. This sonata is complete.

the ambitious project of recording the integral of Bach, by the "Netherlands Bach Society", from what has been achieved up to now, does not seem to me to have reached an aesthetically valid result! This sonata can be heard; it is still a live performance!!
