I have been playing around with these for most part of the day and started off by trying:
    -tt 58 -cvddc 750 -cclock 1300 -fanmin 0 -mclock 900 -amd -acm -mi 12 -mode 1 -clKernel 3 -clNew 1 -clf 0 -lidag 1 -openclLocalWork 128 -openclGlobalMultiplier 4096
But I was getting between 30% to 50% incorrect shares.
I've tried slightly adjusting the -gt between 15 to 150 (even 0 or leaving it out completely) and it seemed to help slightly at ~115 but I was still experiencing a lot of incorrect shares.
Now... I've tried experimenting with -clKernel 3 but it always said that it was ignored.
    I've tried:
    -tt 58 -cvddc 750 -cclock 1300 -fanmin 0 -mclock 900 -amd -mode 1 -clKernel 3 -clNew 1 -openclLocalWork 64
Which seemed a little better but I was still getting between 5% incorrect shares (about 1 out of every 15-20) but I was only yielding ~56MH/s. Not too bad...
So then I remove the -openclLocalWork...
    -tt 58 -cvddc 750 -cclock 1300 -fanmin 0 -mclock 900 -amd -mode 1 -clKernel 1 -clNew 1
I let this run for exactly 5 hours and 19 minutes.
    Three XFX 5700 XT cards.
    Accepted 318, Rejected 0, HW Errors 0
    Averaging 52 MH/s for 156 MH/s combined and 277w combined (92w - 94w each)
You have to admit that these are very solid, stable and promising. Results of 52MH/s for 92w is 0.56MH/s per watt seems pretty efficient. Ideally I'd love to have a 500+MH/s Ethereum mining rig on a 1,000w PSU and I believe that it's achievable with these cards.

I prefer to run at 52-53 and have zero stale, zero invalid, and zero rejected shares. Running in the 60 range you're getting a high percentage of bad shares which defeats the purpose and probably shortens the life of your card.

I've been playing around with a modified version of your settings and I'm @ 56.5 Mh/s & 96.6w per card. Semi-stable. I say that, because I want to see if it'll run a whole week without issues before I declare stability. I'm also BIOS modded and using Phoenix MIner commands to augment. All cards avg 47C temp. 0 rejected, except for the occasional 1-4 stales over a full 24h cycle.
The -openclLocalWork 64 command gets me over 62 Mh/s, but I am getting up to 25% rejected/stale shares. It's not sustainable. Without it, I am getting that 56.5 Mh/s mentioned before.

Wow, thanks so much for old miners who just jumped back in the game. When i saw 56 mh on ETH I couldn't stay away. I am using your settings to get 56 mh/s on 3 5700....stability seems good so far. I have not done any overclocking. I just adjusted the power a little in the AMD overclocking tool to get the temperatures down. I can still get the hash you do with the 5700, but my wattage is a bit higher doing it this way. Still, I am happy because this is simple for me. My rig does have 3x 5700 and 1x 5700xt, and I would like to next optimize the settings for both. I was so disappointed with the 5700xt stock out of the box until I found this video.

I'm getting 56.6 Mh/s & 96.6w per GPU right now with a modified version of these settings. Turn down your mvddc and cvddc to 775.

  • @loki1300
    @loki1300 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I added -gt 115 -cvddc 750 -cclock 1300 -mclock 900 -amd -mode 1 -clNew 1 -openclLocalWork 128 to my Phoenix Miner. Before all I had was -acm -mt 2 -rxboost 1 and was getting ~50~52 MH/s. After added these new commands I am sitting at ~61.5/ However I have not done a long term test yet to see how my stale shares are. Prior to the changes I rarely got any stale shares(about1~3/day). GPU is ~70C at 115w
Ill update here once I let it run for a day or so. But if those commands got me another ~10MH that is amazing.
EDIT: About 3 hours later I have way too many incorrect shares. the increased MH only seems to come from -openclLocalWork 128 or -openclLocalWork 64, but both make too many invalid shares. My effective MH/s is the same due to the increased MH only giving invalid shares. I don't think the opencl commands do anything helpful. however adding -gt 115 -cvddc 750 -cclock 1300 -mclock 900 -amd -mode 1 -clNew 1 still allowed the same MH/s but also lowered the wattage from ~170 to ~112, so that alone is great

I have no idea wtf i just did, but typing in your phoenix miner commands gave me 68mh/s on 105w on one of my cards. My PowerColor goes to 68mh/s aswell but consuming 150watt :(
When i bought these cards i dident understand that theres a difference. I thougth all 5700 XT would give the same result, but that is absolutly not the case. My card looking exacly like yours is very noice but gives better mh/s at lower watts + it doesnt even get that hot. The PowerColor one gets very hot and uses many watts -.-

5700s are definitely nice and it took a while to add mining kernel support for these but I already have 12 Radeon VIIs running on lowest common denominator configs at 1375MHz@0.775Vcore 800MHzHBM2 (summer, 72MH/s/VII @ 110-125Wreported [different bins], dual VII rigs 305-325Wwall) and 1575MHz@0.875Vcore 900MHzHBM2 (winter, 82MH/s/VII @ 135-160Wreported [different bins], dual VII rigs 425-450Wwall). The efficiency curve gets better lower you go but I haven't had the need to go lower than 1375MHz even in summer in basement with forced air exchange ventilation on windows. Rigs are Ryzen 7 2700 with 2x VIIs per rig with overhead about 50-75Wall, not exactly the most efficient setup for mining. But yea if these get 52MH/s at 95-105Wreported, imagine what larger Navi GPUs going to do, especially with newer Samsung HBM2. The only thing VIIs really have going for them is unmatched (for the price) dual-precision FP64 rate and 16GB of super-fast VRAM. And finally of course keep in mind that Prog-PoW may change everything soon.
