An incredibly underrated and overlooked British Band of the 80's. Rolands voice along with music that's hard not to want to jig along with earned them hit after hit on the UK charts. 'I'm Not The Man I Used To Be' and 'Ever Fallen In Love' are perfect examples of this. For me personally, their Album 'The Raw & The Cooked' was one of the best albums of the decade.

The Neville Brothers - 1989 - Yellow Moon, please. The New Orleans music scene goes totally unreacted. Yellow Moon was such a different and welcome, funky, and mysterious-sounding song. The Nevilles had a huge string of hit in the 60's as The Meters. Cissy Strut by The Meters is pure gold.

I love finding these channels. As a child of the 80s, It’s so disheartening that most younger generations, don’t want to know the music we listened to. Sadly my almost 12 year old is that way (despite many attempts by me in different ways)

Their song GOOD THING is a must-react-to. It draws straight from 1960s R&B. It’s got a beat that will immediately make you think of bands like The Supremes and The Four Tops.
A bit of history: both She Drives Me Crazy and Good Thing went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band had never had major success in the USA before, She Drives Me Crazy came out of NOWHERE.

    80's HITS...
    1. "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora
    2. "One Night in Bangkok" by Murray Head
    3. "Rock Me Amedeus" by Falco
    4. "99 Luft Ballons (German) or 99 Red Ballons (English)" by Nena (female lead singer/Friday). I honestly feel the German version truly conveys the meaning/feeling of the song far better that the "bubblegum" feeling of the English version. The song is about a phrase of the balloons going up as the start of World War III. Living less than 150 km's from the East German border in 1983 (when this song was released) also tugs at my heart about just how close the world came to the END that fall...AND
    5. "Always On My Mind" by the Pet Shop Boys. Easily on par with the Elvis version...
