The 4.8L Vortec 4800 L20 (and it's predecessor) doesn't have AFM either and was available until 2013 in the Silverado. It's a great engine (with poor gas mileage tbh lol), I have it in my 2012 Silverado 1500.

I have a 2001 Silverado with only a cold air intake and muffler delete and I smoked a 2009 Silverado (unknown mods except exhaust) probably about 2 bus lengths🤣 the one in the video is super slow

Now if I was doing a bunch of interstate driving or pulling big hills all the time it would be more a long the lines of 15-17. But my average on our highways on a good day is usually 18-19, 21 is the best I've averaged between where I live and the next town over and back.
