Very possible, but most foam cannons won’t operate well doing that as the foam won’t be very good. You could use a siphon like I did in this video. th-cam.com/video/qoJCSqo0VxY/w-d-xo.html
I would go MJJC pro v2 if it were me. MTM also came out with a new bottle and retrofit kit for it as well. It’s not the greatest quality, but it’s a quick connect head with large neck. th-cam.com/video/xUWZLl_tYDc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=d_bILVs-scQOVSqe
I love my Brilliant finish foam canon; but, the weighted ball is starting to rust after just 3 washes. I'm guessing the Boss canon's weighted ball will fit if I buy the "rebuild kit". From what I'm reading online the Boss canon's ball is stainless/wont rust.
@@CarsWithKeav On mine its happening inside the ball, where the insert would go. I only noticed because I washed it and hung it up to dry. The next day there were brown spots under the ball on my wash cloth. Anyway, thanks for the great content as usual!
I love all this but I definitely think you should do some sort of standardized rating where you can, and I think if it's possible to swap out the orifice, then you should test both and record the measurements. Like basically take a blank panel and do three back and forth passes with the cannon using the same soap amounts and all, and then measure the depth of the foam with each orifice and record the measurement.
Thanks for the suggestions. Its tough because so much of the scoring is subjective even the thickness because there is a clinging thickness and a frothy thickness.
@@CarsWithKeav Yeah I definitely feel you there. You could do something like a measurement immediately after foaming and at 60 seconds or something like that, but then I feel like it may be getting off in the weeds with information overload and overthinking it.
I love my brilliant finish foam cannon as well. The design is so good. I hate how big some of the other bottles are. Plus the super pliable straw and weighted ball make a huge difference. I can now get all of the soap out of my foam cannon.
It’s a great unit and the price is very competitive. Agreed on the bottle size, but I also like a lot of product and use lots of soap. So I end up using the slightly bigger ones to get true 1000ml without overflowing the top.
@@ramsc4corvette I could have gotten a bad unit as well. I have seen two of the same unit perform very different. Pressure Washers as well have seen different results, but I can only review on my experience. What soap dilution did you use? I always use the same to make sure my reviews are consistent which is 10:1. I have seen some cannons need almost a 5:1 to foam well.
You did it! Great job on pulling all this together and thinking through how you future proof it as things improve and new products come out. You might just be the one to spur on new foam cannon innovations.... manufacturers are having war room meetings right now trying to figure out how they improve their Keav score! :D
Have you had any rust issues with the metal ball on your griots brilliant finish foam cannon? The ball in mine rusts really bad and stains the bottom of the bottle. I'm guessing its not really stainless
People are having this issue if you mix with water. If you keep only soap and always leave filled it doesn’t seem to do it. Hit up Griots I heard they are replacing them when requested.
That sucks. Hard to keep up with all the changes. Heard Brilliant Finish changed the weighted ball so the metering tips didn’t work. I bought another to make sure and it had the right one. 🤷♂️ At least it’s not something that impacts score much. Maybe a 1/10 or 2/10 of a point.
@@CarsWithKeav I contacted mjjc myself. They told me they have a v3 coming but no date given but they were talking about putting the inner threading back so you can have option to fit different bottles of choice. I bought a spare mjjc assuming it wil be the same as my old stock model but no inner threading. Still my favourite for extreme foam. Probably the easiest cannon to change a filter.
@@CarsWithKeav I have a few foam cannons as well I did purchase the griot and shipped to uk. The metering ball started to rust somebody else was having same issue photo image on Amazon USA. The black coating started coming off as well. But you can take the the outer casing off and fit them in other foams cannons I tried it vice versa with other casing. The barrel is same with many foam cannons. The only one I think masterd it is mjjc the barrel chamber is short but completely air sealed something different internally with the filter out side of the chamber system. I think that's why they can achieve really high foam pushing through the filter out of the chamber unit .
@@preteshpatel959 It’s a well thought out design. They realized later I think it was worth more than they were selling it for too so the price went up a good bit. I’ll reach out to the. To see if I can get a V3. They sent me the other two.
@@preteshpatel959 somebody on here said Griots was replacing the rusty weighted balls for free. Yeah their design is unique and they sandwich filter style helps too I think.
Currently running Sooprinse with the Active ve52 (2021 model), and it's surging (shutting off pressure) like it's making to much back pressure. Any idea how or what to resolve? The ve52 works just fine with the cheapy foam bottles, and every other attachment.
Need to be using a 1.25 orifice with the VE52. Sooprinse comes with a 1.1 and you would be correct that will cause too much pressure and also higher amps causing possible overheating. Many of the cheaper ones especially older ones had a 1.25 installed. Grab some 1.25 off Amazon only cost maybe $7 or $8 dollars for a pair.
Love these videos bro, im starting my journey down the detailing business, came across your greenworks 2300 video while doing some washer research, now this pops up?? amazing!
Griots boss is pretty good and it comes with the tips. If you buy MJJC it basically the same price now and you have to buy tips from Griots and with shipping it’s going to be $15 to $20

starting to become my go-to for cannons/washing...great idea for the score system. thanks again...subscribed.

Kev do you think its possible not to dilute your soap and just use the foam dial to get same results as adding a tip to the metal ball in the griots?

Fill up to the line with your soap or chemical and then fill to the top mark with water. (1000ml)
