    I know all the TH-cam detailers prefer the wide mouth bottles just like you do. I’m the opposite, I prefer the small mouth like the MTM. You can use almost any water bottle or product bottle with it so you’re not limited to one bottle or have to buy from them to replace. I have multiple bottles for different soaps and in different sizes. They all also have caps for storage. For the MTM pick up tube issue, you can buy different tubing for it and replace the stiff tubing.
    I like that you tried the auto mix in different guns. Seems most people have zero imagination about modifying things in anyway. They either use it as is and only modify if someone figures it out for them and shows them exactly how to do it. I love figuring out how to make a product suit my needs better if it doesn’t out of the box. That’s how I figured out you can use different bottles. Many have the same thread.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you have tons of options with the bottle threads. That what I like best about my MJJC as it has two thread pattern the outer for the wide neck, but also had an inner thread to fit the same bottles the MTM does and the MTM bottle too. They stopped making the inner thread for some reason. MTM just did release a new bottle with a wide too and you can retrofit the old one on top so you can have a wide top quick release style and unscrew it to use the small threads still.

    • @seashackf1
      @seashackf1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CarsWithKeav yeah, I’ve seen the new MTM cap and bottle. I like how it’s just an adapter for the existing setup and not a complete redesign. Now you still have the option to not use it and use you’re own bottles if you bought a new one.
      The Griots has the same set up as your MJJC where it has both threads. I’d much rather have the option to use wide or small than being stuck with just wide. I prefer having options and auto-mix is a great one to have. I know most testers show the Griots is better, and cheaper, but the MTM will always be a great cannon and the difference in foam seems minimal between all of them.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@seashackf1 Griots does not foam as good as the MTM or MJJC without the auto mix feature. They are all good just depends on what you like. Small neck I never would use since most of my bottle are not diluted so I would have to dilute in another bottle. I don't run any chemicals at full dilution to be able to use the chemical bottle.

    • @seashackf1
      @seashackf1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CarsWithKeavI guess I was talking about the Griots Boss instead of the BF foam cannon. Most seem to rate it above the MTM. For the auto mix feature you could use the small neck 16 oz bottle the soap is available in and not have to transfer anything. You’d just refill from the gallon same as you would for the wide mouth cannon bottle. Much easier to keep different soaps that way and be able to cap each bottle. In the end it’s all personal preference and what works for us. For some the standard way everyone else does it works fine. For others, like you did with here, we like to modify so it fits a specific need.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Man I just discovered your channel and I've gotta tell you I'm a big fan.
    The bloopers cracked me up for quite a bit but then when you said "Stop it" to yourself in jest it made me sad. I used to struggle with a stutter and try to basically race my words out so I wouldn't stutter so I know how it feels.
    Hopefully you don't actually get frustrated or down on yourself for the tongue twisters because you're effing awesome, but it you do happen to get down on yourself or particularly frustrated one day try remembering that you can slow it down and breathe and conversation doesn't have to be a race. It's what ultimately helped me get over my stutter. That and realizing if people didn't want to let me finish the entire thing I was trying to say or communicate, they don't deserve my thoughts or company anyway.
    At any rate man I'm glad to have discovered your channel and you've got a new sub.

    Hey man as always, great content. I want to thank you for encouraging me to go out, organize myself and wash my car. Speaking of phone tenants over the weekend I did a test of my own (unfortunately I do not have a TH-cam channel sure nobody would be interested however) and I compared the to the MTM versus the MJ JC. Without a doubt, I was only able to get to one side of my truck being washed before running out of soap with the MJJC. Trust me, I wanted it to work and that was with it turned down. Instead of refilling, I changed to the MTM washed the entire truck and the wife’s car before running out. For a little bit extra foam to me it’s not worth it with a truck.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's just crazy, maybe something is up with that one. Is it version 1 or 2? You can see in the video for the whole car I used the same amount of soap. As there is no way the metering tip can allow any more soap to flow so you can maybe get it to last longer with one of those. I hate it isn't working out for you. I've noticed with what I have bought and my friends units there a manufacturing differences between them and they each behaved slightly different.

    I ended up buying a rebuild kit from Griot's in addition to the metering tips and an extra container. I ordered a M Mingle gun and QD's from Amazon to go with my budget Greenworks pressure washer. Put it all together and wow! Stellar results. Great foam, easier to use. I'm really looking forward to the best wash. Note: the metering to didn't fit in the ball or on the nipple in the cap. I've tested the three different GG metering tips using Active 2.0, Boss Foam Canon w/1.25mm orifice drawing straight RO water from the canon bottle (not soap). Pink tip consumes 2oz/minute; Purple 3oz/min; Aqua 4oz/min. Of course straight soap will be more viscous thus affecting suction through the metering tips.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  ปีที่แล้ว

Can you measure the inside diameter of the purple metering tip-say with a drill bit?? Just see what size drill bit slides into the hole. • @CarsWithKeav

      I will see, but it’s really small don’t think I would have anything that small to measure. Theoretically like you said it’s just restricting the flow so if you could drill through a weight it should work. It might clog easily though if the bird is long. These the hole is only a small area so easy to clean out.

      @@Index-o1234 You can still make thicker foam using your own dilution and hot deionized water, but more foam doesn’t always mean more lubricity. It’s just the soap being aerated more in the manifold. Soap can be just as lubricating without suds. ONR as an example. Too thick a foam also has a hard time dwelling off the surface evacuating the debri. There is a big debate on foam thickness. It’s therapy for me though. I sacrificed some foam thickness for the efficiency and time saved not having to measure. Using the tips just sucks less soap into the manifold mixing with the water allowing the dilution to happen there. @@CarsWithKeav The tips work. I had an issue with my MJJC cannon leaking from front and not foaming after the freeze we had, don’t know if it had anything to do with that or I forgot to flush it after using it. I changed out the filter and kept running water in the bottle and it started working again. The last few times I stick the tube in water after using to flush it out and it’s working so far

      You could take it out and cap it as the manifold should be cleaned out regularly. I have had no issues with any of the MJJC weighted balls. I wouldn’t trust Griots though they rust.

    Hey Keav, I got the metering tips from Amazon and they don't fit the MJJC 3.0 or PF22. Neither on the end of the weighted ball or the end of the canon itself. Have you had any luck?

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Weighted ball on MJJC you have to drill it out to fit, but they have also changed their design as well. MTM the tube is larger and hard to place. I have. I have not tried to find a solution as I have went away from auto mixing as I use so many chemicals I don’t have abuse for it.

    For the auto mix do you only add soap to the cannon reservoir and no water prior to using it? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm a novice in this area.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No water is needed unless you want to thin out the mix to save soap. Will get less foam though.

    Hey Kev ,
    I forgot to ask you if using the metering tips is better than a diluted mixture ?
    Is it better to use no tips for most foam or do the the tips produce same foamage , just your personal view.....because sometimes video doesn't do justice. 1✌

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should be the same foam if the dilutions from the auto mix are the exact same as doing your own. The tips only allow you to just leave soap in the bottle full strength forever and not have to mix with water. Just easier to do, but if you do many chemicals then diluting yourself is best. Unless you have as many foam cannons as me. 😂

    A lot of soaps are engineered for a panel impact ratio and then advertised with dilution ratios for simplicity to the public. Interested in the math of how the soap is actually sitting on the panel

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be interesting to know and for me knowing what foam thickness is most effective. I actually think there are so many variables such as panel angle, coating, softness of paint, hardness of water, etc. You might have a handful of different types of foam thickness on just one car..

    @cheferman65 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Cool, but not for me. I'm not willing to change the process as I use different soaps. I also believe in cleaning my equipment after use, this method would further hinder that. I'm thinking this method is now making your pressure washer work a little bit more as it is now having to draw a thicker liquid through a regulator. The cannons were not designed for this. Thanks for your efforts and humor! If you don't try, you fail anyway. Keep us posted on the long term.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its not for everybody and I wouldn't do it if I didn't have so many because I use a lot of soaps, but most only use a few. I tested and my amperage did not change on my Active VE52 from regular dilution to the meter tips. I don't think it puts any added stress as the stress point is the orifice and I did 1.1 just as a control and I normally use a 1.25. Will be doing long term updates for sure.

    • @Bloodstryke

      My suggestion for cleaning the mesh filter after each use would be to unscrew the bottle from the cannon and spray all the soap out from the siphon tube and continue spraying water through the cannon to clean the mesh filter. Then you can screw the bottle back on with undiluted soap and store until the next wash.
