What an excellent review!!! Thank you!
Just discovered the channel! Great review!
Thanks again for sharing
Best review I have seen on this car great job
Superb review!
Great car review Tish 👍hope you have a great weekend 😀
Thank you! You too!
Another fab video Tish! Can’t wait to get my hands on a new Tiguan now, it looks great so much more like it’s Touareg big brother now. The Match is such good value comparing it to the other trims too. 🧡
Great review and highly enjoyable and informative. Really like the look and practicality of this car. Would be even better if they gave a longer warranty.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. The best looking Volkswagen SUV 😊
Nice review tish that new shape does look good not sure on the big screen inside also loved the little cough and suzuki swift drop made me laugh haha x
I think it’s a little silly that Volkswagen are flashing this massive screen in their first demonstrators when in reality, I can’t see that many people buying them with the upgraded screen! Haha it’s definitely easier to talk about a new car when it’s actually new 😅😅😅
Thanks Trish, I’m now looking forward to the Tiguan release here in Sydney Australia. Will definitely consider it as my next car.
A great review and informative as always. Looks like a high quality products as we expect from VW - great to see less corner cutting than in some recent models.
Things look like they’re moving in the right direction 🤞🏼
Your the best car reviewer ❤
Fantastic review, clear well researched and presented. Spot on👊
Outstanding review
Thank you kindly
Piano Black Cross Looks Brilliant 😊
As long as its new, untouched, and shiny. But wait until it gets touched or scratched. Good luck
Nice car and review
Just ordered one
Brilliant review Tish! 😊
VW have made yet another best -selling Tiguan. Happy they have kept ICEs in the range. Cheers, Tom
Props for doing the presentation in the rain without an umbrella ☔️ 😊
Thank you very much, weirdly it was raining so lightly I was barely getting wet. When I left in the morning, it didn’t even say it was going to rain!
In many European markets, there is a more powerful diesel with 193PS and more importantly with 4Motion. That same drivetrain is sold here in the new Škoda Superb and Kodiaq.
I hope Volkswagen UK brings the 4Motion Tiguan MK3 models to our market.
I also hope the UK will get Tiguan/Passat and Kodiaq/Superb with 2.0 TSI.
@@stewartmungin5166 It should arrive later. I know Turkey now has the Passat B9 Variant available with both the 2.0 TDI 4Motion and 2.0 TSI 4Motion, I guess the latter is more likely for the UK.
@@DaveDVideoMaker let's hope so. VW UK have said we won't get any diesel Passat.
Was looking to buy a 2024 Tiguan here in Canada. Test drive but found the infotainment screen fiddly & not really intuitive. Asked the dealership when the series 3 would come to Canada, she denied there WAS a series 3! So reluctant to spend C$56,000 on a vehicle that is soon to be an old model. This new model really looks like it may have answered some of my negatives. Great review. Thank You!
Tish its such a nice car well said
The gear selector behind the driving wheel (Mercedes style) is a good idea ... because ... with a not-so-complicated-adjustment ... the central console can be eliminated ... and this way the right foot (the left one in the UK) won't feel crowded anymore. The driving position will be "aired" ... like in a VW MultiVan ...😉
Recieved my tiguan 3 weeks ago awesome
Good choice!
Hi! Thanks for that movie. I have a question. I will be very happy if you can reply.
What do you think about the DCC suspension noise (especially on the Comfort mode)? Is DCC suspension louder than non DCC cars you have tested?
Some people say that new Passat with DCC Pro has really loud suspension. I ordered Tiguan with that but I still have some doubts. Could you please help me with decision go/no go with DCC? Thanks!
What do you mean by loud suspension? What does it sound like, Robocop?
Tailgate is an optional extra with the r line
Fabulous video. With the prices of EVs being so high, a Tiguan PHEV makes a lot of sense. Food for thought! ID4 or Tiguan?
Please can I ask you questions about car Tiguan which one better and best Tiguan or skoda kodjak and kvalite inside material thanks
Hopefully going to get a chance to compare it to Kodiq soon
I tish I heard you talk about the 40000 pounds luxury car tax. Not many people are talking about that. Due to coming in, especially for electric cars next year. What do you think about it Paul from se London
I love my 2023 Golf R with haptic touch buttons. I've only hit the heating steering wheel button once since owning it May of 2023. To me, it looks way better than the regular buttons.
Totally agree no issue with the buttons on my ID 5
@@paulscott1759 Exactly. All the knee jerk reactions are blown out of proportion and so unnecessary. You gotta really put pressure on the haptic buttons to activate something. These "car journalists" are so ridiculous.
Interior looks much better and higher quality than recent VW models
Go and inspect one first hand. They aren't.
@@fathippyThey are. Especially the base models.
I wouldn't call it luxury, but it is greatly improved.
Great review as always.
Just changed from 2 tiguans in last 6 yrs ( last 1.5 tsi elegance) to an ID5 pro performance.
Tiguans were great cars. Super reliable and comfortable. Never a squeak or rattle.
Omg… contract with ID5 is night and day. ID5 ride is harsh and just plain uncomfortable even on 19 inch alloys.
But it’s the build that’s the big difference. Straight from delivery the dash, front seat and boot rattle constantly on all but the smoothest roads. I would have gone for the new Tiguan but Vw were wanting too much money on lease.
ID 5 have some attractive offers ….. that’s because the car really isn’t great.
I really like this vehicle. Much better equipped then before.😊
Clearly, Volkswagen have realised that many customers are going over to the likes of Kia because of the amount of equipment you get as standard! I’m glad they started doing something about it.
@@AutoSocialUK Or maybe its just because the KIAs are classier, more stylish, better designed and more reliable as well as better equipped.
When you say "this is how to do a new car" I thought you were referring to the new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Got excited for a moment😂😂😂 right off the bat: the dimensions. I'm loving the compact appearance of the Tiguan, and it still has that tradition VW style. Loving the new technology, lighting is impressive. Overall HP isn't the best in its class but it doesn't have to be. Now, the compact SUV category is competitive. Aside from the Tiguan, you got 2 Japanese best sellers to contend with; the Rav4 and the CR-V. So it will be interesting to see if the Tiguan can outperform its rivals and be the gold standard of compact SUVs. Great review. Thumbs up!
Tiguan PHEV with FWD, 7 gears, 3 clutches and 2 years warranty. Toyota RAV4 PHEV with AWD, zero gears, zero clutches and 10 years warranty (Relax)
@timogronroos4642 but where's the rest of the Rav4 Prime stats? Lemme help ya out. 302hp, 0-60mph in 5.4 seconds, 1/4 mile in 14.1 seconds, weighs around 1,983 KG, 105 MPGe on the highway, 84 MPGe in the city, and it can go 42 miles on pure EV. (Now I'm "relaxed)😂
@@kickstand801 You forgot to include the 50K price tag. Although I agree you do have valid points. The RAV4 is due to be updated for 2025.
Actually, the VW does need to have more HP, or something that distinguished itself from the Japanese. Sure, DCC is great, but that "suspension feature" is not going to bring in any new customers. The majority of buyers look for interior features, cabin comfort, finish and materials. That's the route Mazda chose with its new line of cars. In addition, the CX50 offers a max of 256 hp.
The Tiguan is a great starter family SUV. But in North America there's also that segment that can only afford one can and want to add fun to their utility. That's where VW used to shine when they popularized the hot hatch which proved utility didn't need to be boring. I'm just wondering when Hyundai surpassed VW with its own invention.
Right now they all have a loyal following with their superior reliability. Equally them is not going to be enough to bring in any new buyers.
I don’t think it looks aggressive at all. I currently have a 23 reg r line but I won’t be buying the new model. That strip light on the front and the black across the middle of the dash with like bits of white in it I hate. I don’t like how everything is controlled by a screen rather than buttons but that’s the whole vag group in general. Takes far to long to turn things off and if you’re driving you don’t want to take your eyes off the road for longer than you need to! Seats look like the ones out of a Škoda now but they’ll be comfy enough.
Through loading from the boot is not something they've improved for the Mk3 as that was standard on the Mk2.
And you don't pay an extra £25 for the tool kit and jack as that comes with the £350 spare wheel and boot floor etc.
This just came over as a sponsored advertisement for VW
I love your earrings Tish.
Mini are bmw, the etched tiger and iguana in back window is nice idea, just to show where the name comes from, be nice to compare to the new Audi q3 due anytime
It looks like a Qashquai and ID model merged into one. I prefer the sharp, sleek and smooth look of the previous Tiguan R Line model.
Yes, the previous model looked better, this latest model looks too ordinary
That TV inside ruins everything
Its the trend nowadays, but I agree. Even the standard 12.9" is more than big enough. Since you mention it, why not dedicate more of the screen area to the rear view camera view and use the extra real estate for something useful?
Such a shame the wheel middle button cannot control the whole infotainment system
I just took delivery of the out going model R-Line edition. I hadto pay £300 for the electric tailgate and the same for the adjustable boot floor which i was told you only got if you ordered the spare wheel. Pretty annoying that some of those are now standard. As for looks i prefer mine to be honest specially the wheel rims.
It seems like lots of things like that are no standard like the electric boot, park assist ect. What specification of outgoing model did you go for? I bet like for like they end up the same. I thought an adjustable floor was standard on all VW products.
I am not from the UK.
I did not mean to be disrespectful, just thought that you sounded posher compared to other TH-camrs doing car reviews. It felt like I was watching an English spelling contest. As to whether you get it right - do what you think is right. Keep up the good work 👍
We have had one for the last two years
Looks like the love child of a Toyota and an MG!
Really it was excellent review but the car actually it is expensive
Just looks like a t cross pumped up with RAV4 vibes but interior is nice
To spec a new R line the same as my 22 model costs 10k more 😮
I do agree that it’s madness! I think there is a lot of models, going to be sold with no extras, or Premium paint colours!
K so first time watching this channel, nice review, nice SUV, etc...but really, doesn't always seem to be raining when a British car reviewer is doing an outside review of a vehicle?? 😁
I am from malaysia. Tiguan vary nice for me
its missing 200bhp 4x4 model which normal European cars will get, especially as mentioned car is heavier
Any massive CarPlay issues? I liked the styling of the previous one but the Rline ride was way too niggly for the type of car
Exterior wise i still like the previous generation.
Good, they're still for sale, and you can get it for a discount.
I had a Golf GTE, which was nice but boring. At least the interior has been brought into the 21st century.
Yes, we are too easily impressed by having a slightly bigger screen… premium price and the cost to the manufacturer is minimal.
But 15 inch is unnecessary large don’t you think?
@@AutoSocialUK Completely. I love tech, but also a Luddite when it comes to dashboard design…..they have become awfully flat. Integrate the tech into a well designed dashboard and cluster for me. Still quite like this new Tiguan(so maybe on the list). Great review as always Tish- thanks.
Why don’t you tell us the 0 to 60 for each engine spec?
The video was already 24 minutes long, there was a lot to cover. The 0-62bph figures are as follows:
1.5 eTSI 130ps - 10.6 seconds.
1.5 eTSI 150ps - 9.4 seconds.
2.0 TDI 150ps - 9.4 seconds.
1.5 eHybrid 204ps - 8.2 seconds.
1.5 eHybrid 272ps - 7.2 seconds.
the car looks good, but the front grill looks horrific though 🥴
at lasstttttttt
there is RHD version...

Years ago I bought a Passat , god knows what was going on in my head , vowed to never have another Volkswagen.
How come
@@willielarsson9651 compared to my previous Citroen, hopeless build quality, rattley dash, overheated, uninterested dealers one of which actually damaged the car ! And I thought I was buying quality! Got rid for a Mazda6 , a great car excellent dealers .
Shame. VWs were always solidly built... and then came along piano black plastic
Nice interior and rear... not so much front end, a lot of plastic as well and VW reliability.
I miss the days when the Tiguan was cute and tiny 🤫
Have you compared the old Mini to the current Mini?
I really don’t like the light bars both front and rear, I hope they can be deactivated somehow. 2.0tdi is the way forward for me
It’s only the higher spec models that get it on the front. However I’m not sure about the back.
@@AutoSocialUK doesn’t matter to me, I’ll find a way to deactivate them or block them out somehow because I want R-line trim and I really can’t stand them😂
@@richarddastardly6845 The light bar doesn't bother me, however, I do find the lighted logo a bit gimmicky. I have no problem with any of these as long as the owner can opt to turn them on/off.
A simple option in the infotainment would easily solve that. Especially since owners already have some control and choice of configuring the lights. In a crowed parking lot, that could have advantages. Especially when you return after dark and everything is all tuned around.

The 12.6 inch boyfriend screen is indeed better
I'm pretty sure that's 12.9, but we won't quibble about a few fractions of an inch.

Was really tempted to buy one but seeing it in person the interior lighting just looked cheap and tacky, I also wish the R line seats were plain and didn’t have the pattern on them. Shame as I feel the interior let the car down
That’s interesting, it’s definitely a taste thing. I quite like the ambient lighting and I’ve always loved the pattern seats and how they play homage to the performance models of the past. Mind you, this isn’t a performance model, so perhaps you are correct!
What if your someone like me who doesn't want any screens in my car at all , don't need them and don't want them it's a car keep it simple all they are are tools to get you from point A to point B and back and all these cars are is today version of the 80s minivans !
All I want to know is the answer to her question "is bigger always better"?
I think she's like me, a size queen
These touch screens are dangerous
They’re used for advertising mainly. Not many people will go for a a display this large.
@@AutoSocialUK Doesn't matter what size they are they are a focal point for everything. The more you have the more times your eyes will be taken off the road. Your presenter, admittedly stationary, didn't have her eyes on the road when she was scrolling through menus. You can't use a phone if your driving but hey lets give you a big I-pad to distract you.
I’d have to drive one, but 150bhp sounds a bit underpowered for this size of car…..have 4 people in there and I’m not sure it would have the performance that would make me feel comfortable.
Completely understand. A completely full car of people makes a big difference
You’ve Tish lost a lot of weight, slimmer than before. 👍👍
It’s all in the angles but I appreciate it either way!
Looks seem to be moved towards ID4 etc. Not a good idea.
It seems OK for families with 2 kids but what about for people who need to put 3 people in the back. Why never any comments about that side of the practicality.
It’s funny John, how are you seem to have stumbled across the only video I’ve ever not sat in the middle seat. 😂 sorry for not highlighting in this video, but it is often something I cover.
Like the new shape, the ID range look soooo boring in comparison. The interiors, particularly the seat fabrics need a major re think; I had this finish in my T Roc R and it is tedious.I think the Skoda range, model for model, is more interesting and leather seats more available on a wider spectrum of vehicles. I will stay with VW group in the foreseeable future, good value and trustworthy.
Great review, but its pricey and I really don’t think it looks as nice as my gen 2 r line.. not sure I will rush out to get one, I think its ugly tbh and the interior yuk
Everybody's going to say its too pricey, but its not too much for what you get. I just hope VW hurries up a produces a true performance R version. To cement the model. Right now its just average. But avenger is not enough to increase sales. As it sits, the Tiguan will not be turning any heads anytime soon.
If VW wants to increase sales, it just make good business sense that they throw in everything they've got (all the tech) when its their best selling model. Like Dodge did with the Omni (and now with the Hornet) way back in the 80s. They focus on multiple variants of a single car which brought them back from the brink of bankruptcy.
VW is always playing catch-up. Meanwhile, Hyundai is rocketing forward with their N cars, and making a name for itself in the performance arena. If it wasn't for that brands quirky styling, I wouldn't hesitate to consider it.
Yeah just sits under £40k stick paint on it and it doesn't , match is the sweet spot, doesn't have trizone climate, my £27k Leon st has more boot room and trizone, would be good if you could get a new Kodiaq against it, 7 seats cheaper and has physical dials for climate ,think only down side is the digital dash which isn't as good to look at as the VW.
no manual option 😢
I know, it’s a shame!
Nobody buys manual anymore. They're gone, and they're not coming back. Honda and Toyota still offer them on the performance versions.
mazda offer stunning manuals gearboxes still
@@krane15 VW have decided in the interests of production economy to dispense with manual gearboxes. Most of the younger generation of drivers are used to automatics therefore they will just accept them. For us older generation manual boxes still allow us to actually drive our cars and select the optimum gear ratio to the conditions. I own a manual 23 model Tiguan 150ps Tdi.
Love your video but not the car... its a no likey from me rather have my r line 2023 far nicer all round will not be changing it again for sure.
I can never find any enthusiasm for VW products I'm afraid. I find them souless and boring.
No AWD version? That's disappointing
Of course there is an AWD.

The red is a awful colour choice. If this was black with the optional York wheels it looks much better

Its time for their 80yr old exterior designer to retire.
VW has always been a conservative design. If you want creases and folds see Hyundai.

Over priced, BYD SEAL U is the suv am waiting for!.
Idk, something doesn’t match
Way too expensive imo
I completely agree with you!
Compared to what? Model for model the price is comparable to its competition.
@@krane15 -Overpriced for what it is imo. It doesn’t look that great and at the end of the day it’s an oversized golf not a bmw or merc
Good SUV but getting 'over styled' like most cars these days.
Plastic grills front & rear, looks like cheap fencing to keep rabbits out.
Bring back Giugiaro.
Fair enough! I’m think the other models are less over styled than the R-line
An overstyled VW? I've never seen one. But I'm pretty sure I've seen that grill pattern used on luxury cars.
What worries me buying a tiguan is the fragile plastic water pump that cannot last .
Need expensive water pump replacement above the second year of ownership that make tiguan unreliable to own.
Better for me to stay away from Tiguan and buy other more reliable brands instead.
Why is every new car basically 35k for a sub 150 bhp engine. My 11 year old mondeo has mote grunt that most of these new releases. Your dropping massive amounts of money for 2 ton cars powered by fish farts!
11 years ago 150 was a lot. What would your mondeo cost in today’s money?
@Cous1nJack Was it, I mean before that I had an 04 320d that had 150. I mean modern cars are just shite. People are more concerned with how many usb chargers it has!
Another journalist against Haptic buttons ,use the car for a length of time not just a review ,the buttons are great on my ID 5 so stop with the negative vibes before you start reviewing the car
We have a 2021 facelifted T-roc with them. We still do not like them.
However, I’m happy you like them.
One question: are haptic button easier use than traditional buttons? No one has ever said yes. The best they can say is "you get used to them." A way to excuse a poor design.
Alot of over styling in the Interior
That’s fair enough.
There's never been a VW in history that was overstyled. You might want to check the meaning of that word.
A pity the Tiguan has become so boring. I liked the first one but none of them since then.
How is it boring? its has far more to offer than it ever has.
@@krane15 It has some touchs inside I agree but just look at that front or rear typical VW. A 4 year could design a better looking car. VW are the most boring mainstream brand now. Toyota who used to be very boring now make very stylish cars.
@@sharonec5419 Agreed. But Toyota is not the best example. All Toyota crossover SUV look like trucks. Hyundai cars are far too garish and over styled for my taste. Although cousin Kia is a bit more understated.
I think VWs have a handsome yet conservative look. I always prefer a linear belt-line, but other than that rise at the C-pillar, I think the profile is OK. I like the super form crease over the rear wheel too.
Interior wise, a few others have adapted soft touch to the rear compartment so it doesn't feel so much like you've been relocated to steerage when you sit back there. And a few even give you those neat window shades if you have a child seat.
On there other hand, there are still cars in this class (and beyond) that don't even offer heated rear seats, or a reclining feature, and some can't even move for and aft (Cadillac). As someone with a tall family, I'd just like to one day see thigh extension added to the rear seats too. That's a feature I'd pay extra to get.
As a driver that does lots of road trips, I'm happy to see a longer thigh cushion finally got added to the front seats though. Hopefully, I won't still need to pack the pillow to support my right leg when I'm behind the wheel all day.
The more adjustments the less fatigue. There's a reason rear seat passenger always complain the most on road trips. I still remember those days growing up -- "are we there yet?" -- as a long-legged teenager.
Plugin SUV without AWD, its idiotic.
Unfortunately SUV's lost any form of practicality a while ago....
@@AutoSocialUK Its not about that only, its just stupidity in this case from the manufacturers (vw) side , every reviewer have been complaining over this.
