With this vanity, I decided to try something different from the usual style of splitting the two parts into nightstands. I thought tambour doors would look great in the middle, so that's what I attempted. It was actually trickier than I thought to figure out the design and the order in which to assemble the pieces, but it all worked out in the end. I think this may be the most functional thing I've ever built...

Those Tambor doors compliment the decorative pieces very well! One trick with those doors is if you put wax in the tracks the doors will slide back and forth much more easily and it won't cause as much friction, which will make the tracks last longer. Well done though!
Also Bar Keepers Friend works just as well, if not better, on cleaning brass and other metal pieces, but it does not have the same harsh chemicals. And if you spray the pieces with something like Krylon clear they won't re-tarnish.

Andy, it’s so good to see you back. Thanks for the brilliant additions to this piece, especially when mid-mod is your favorite style. You even kept the original fringe bling. The tambour doors you created threw shadows thanks to your carving and your staining/waxing. The partition walls classed it up. Each step proved your status as a master crafter/carpenter. Play with your new toys whenever you want because you figure out ways to innovate with them. We should figure out a way to promote your willingness to repurpose. 0:04

I had a dresser very similar to this growing up in the 60’s, I would have loved those sliding doors.

Beautiful. Nothing is better that wood looking like wood instead of painted.
21:28 I have the same knobs. Instead of Brasso I use a mix of lemmon juice, liquid dish soap and a bit of water for bronze cleaning. Clean with a cloth and then clear water and a then a dry cloth. The shine lasts longer

Stunning restoration! I personally liked the look of the mismatched wood, but i love the finished product more. Your vision is remarkable!
