Hi i hav been watching ur videos for un valing new miniature sets for along time . And recently during this pandemic you hav motivated me to try my hands out at some crafting due to shipping issues in the recent past year so far I have made lava feilds / bad lands terrain , I hav watched ur ice wind dale rime of the frost maiden video so I made a full huge set of stackable artic ,glacial terrain with ice / crystalline structures I use for my artic and cave settings and last night I just finished my huge rocky -mossey-hilly stackable terrain set inspired by a hill giant I saw on one of ur miniature videos . when I starred crafting I discovered a tool called a hot wire foam cutter.. and it is so fun and makes cutting / sculpting foam so easy u should def promote tools like this on ur show for those who want to try crafting there own terrain after all it does promote people purchasing materials from the company's who sell paints and materials for crafting and painting miniatures. Thanks for the inspirations I wish I could figure out how to send my picks of terrain I made to u they came out awesome . Ur videos showing off new unpainted minis over the pandemic hav motivated me to try my hand at painting minis and I have become really good at it. My friends say my miniatures are pro painter quality. Thks for motivating me to craft iv had so much fun because of watching ur videos..
That new price tag is a little concerning. I'm glad they're putting stuff out again but I was very much hoping this steady increase in price across the board for wizkids minis would come to an end after the shipping issues. $30 extra for a smaller dragon with no real paint job but "different" plastic? There is just no way that mini has the same quality as say the ancient white dragon that's also $100.
Yeah, I am so happy that after so many decades we finally get Gem Dragon minis. I love the Sapphire and the Emerald one looks amazing too. I like the 2-color yellow/green wings the best. And the super slinky, sleek design is great and harkens back to the 2E artwork. It's only that these look the best with some backlighting - putting them in front of a window does wonders.
This dragon is incredible ! Like the others but the price is too high.... Especially when you don't live in the USA or UK. Very good presentation still !
I kinda hate. it to me it looks like slime instead of emerald and you can see the part where the tail was connected doesn’t seem worth the money to me 🤷🏻♂️
I bought two Wiz kids figures a year or so ago, they constantly lean or the hammer raised above the head, has a bent shaft and won't stay straight when I try to bend it back straight. I won't be in a hurry to buy anymore of their product!
Very nice! video, as always, guys I like this dragon mini, though not as an Emerald Dragon - if I ever get it(which I certainly might), it'll be some sort of "Slime Dragon". Perhaps Juiblex's perversion of the draconic form. xD 2:42 Point of note: Those aren't sunbursts on the Sapphire Dragon, but naturally occuring star patterns found in "star sapphire" stones. (Guess why they got that name! ;) ) I highly suggest you google "star sapphire", because those are some really pretty rocks! :D
these gem dragons look so bad and the minis look even cheaper than what we're used to from WizKids. Often times I realize that the official DnD mini market is terribly pricy and really lackluster in terms of quality, features and overall user experience. Including the stat blocks of the minis you buy or making sure the quality of each mini is up to standard should be a must, let alone premium packaging. Knowing that the minis are PVC, I assume Wizard makes A TON of profit selling those at that price point. Their designs are often just following the concept art with little regard to being paintable and the shape of the minis seen from a table. Sorry for my rant ^^
I'm glad for this review! I was worried the eyes weren't painted in any way and it was just a big hunk of translucent plastic but the details up close look MUCH better than what I expected so I''ll def snag this (Even if it's $104
A question, are you saying that one wing-claw has to keep that clear tube on? Why? That totally ruins it for me, it’d make me feel like I paid a lot of money for a defect, it just looks really bad. Can you please give more insight? I sincerely hope I misunderstood this. I love the look of the wings, but the body…. Ok it’s unique, but lacking texture it looks like a Slime Dragon. Which I never considered the existence of and if I do ever pick this up, it will be as a Slime Dragon I create a stat-block for, but it just isn’t an Emerald Dragon in any way other than color.
@@TheGallantGoblin Except mine. My claw broke off trying to get that very one off because the tubing is so close to the claw, I think, I couldn't get a good grip on it or it was already broken when I took the tubing off. Not sure which. All the rest of them came off just fine. *sad dragon noises*
@@TheGallantGoblin No, it broke at the attachment point. I sent Wizkids a message about it to see what they say about replacements or if I'm just going to have to find some way to glue it. These gem dragons are just so fragile! My gold dragon's fire broke off it's other head too. lol
@@JessRansdellSmith That happened to mine as well. It broke off when I tried to take the plastic tub off of it. Personally, I really don't like the look (and size) of this one, but only got it to complete the collection. The claw breaking off only made me dislike it more. I was able to glue it back on, but it's frustrating that their attempt to keep the claw from breaking off is what caused it to actually break.
Has anyone else had an issue with this mini where it won't sit flat on the table? The lowest spike on the bottom of its right wing won't let it lay flat and its bugging me...
I don't have that problem but the first spike on that lower wing did break off as I tried to get the super tight fitting tubing off and I'm not happy about it. -.-

Those aren't sparkles on the sapphire dragon. Look closely at the official art, they are in fact designs on its body. :)
