Love these sets. The adventure had so much great art and it's nice to see them given mini form! The Ghost Cloud Giant is a very useful mini, given how you encounter more such enemies in I think Descent into Avernus. Hekaton looks far better than his old mini - the beard and the fur on his cape are finally not the same color. And I am OK with having two versions of him, this one is more of a battle mini, his older mini with the cloudy morningstar is more of a regal pose you use for diplomatic encounters. Curious to see his wife, who is actually already dead when the adventure begins, but can't say no to such a gorgeous detailed Giantess mini! The two villains with their familiars or pets on their shoulders are amazing, such details for these tiny creatures! And an Octopus makes great sense as a familiar for a pirate mage.
Well I for one , am ecstatic that they kept the giants size close/same as the previous versions of said "giant" characters. As the one of the more recent "Icons of the Realm " sets , had rather small Hill(would make a great Ogre Boss) and Stone Giants . And because of the size difference , I had my doubts on this set. The mini's look great by the way . I may have to rekindle a group into that adventure again
CAUTION! This Comment Contains Spoilers from the Storm King's Thunder campaign. I know you're gonna talk about in the next box set. But i totally agree about these boxes having odd choices with the featured Giants. It's wierd that they only have 1 of the 5 giant lords in them and a lot of characters that won't even see combat. I was really hoping for a Duke Zalto or Jarl Storvald. Chief Guh could use a new figure and wouldn't mind to see a new Countess Sansuri. But the mini's in these boxes do look nice though!
That storm giant queen is a really nice mini, she looks pretty commanding. Set feels expensive, and as said makes some odd choices, but I might look for her on the after market at some point.
I wonder if getting these special sets are a better (and cheaper) way to get giant miniatures. I barely got any giants back in the day when storm kings thunder and monster menagerie 3 was out.
Minisgallery has discussed the numbers and I think they concluded King Hekaton at least is cheaper to buy in this set than on the aftermarket (they calculated him as worth $25 in this box and the SKT booster one resells for $30).
Every single King Hekaton I've seen, including yours, has a warped sword. This is getting ridiculous. A couple old Pathfinder sets even had paper cones taped on human-sized commons. When even a mini this size and price is warped, it's simply bad casting. We sholdn't have to resort to the water technique (which may not even work) at this price point. They need to start cooling them in their molds longer. It's such a shame, because these sets are so great otherwise.
Being very generous with ya comments 😃😆 I would have said that none of the adventure books have any playable scenarios. None of the books have characters that have miniatures, lazy Asian corporations control the manufacture and release dates. So now we are getting miniatures 10 years late ????? After we have already paid for source books and "Sets" which include every mini in the setting except the ones in the actual souce book????? Descent Into Avernass was the worse scam yet. I kept desperately searching for the stats for the 40 miniatures in the source book but finding nothing. How hard is it 2 design an adventure and make miniatures at the same time???? Epic Adventure series is an organic reaction 2 terrible executive decisions by the "creators" of this scam of products.

The Queen Neri mini is one I'd love to get. All the giants in this set are, but especially her. Absolutely awesome mini!

I've zero intentions to run Stormkings Thunder. Bus the mini sets are awesome. A variety of giants and great medium minis.
Of all the new bigger mini sets they have been releasing, this one looks worth the heavy price. I think they good on these ones.
Nice review as always. Love seeing some of the new Wildlands DF pieces too 🙂
So huge!!!!!
These look great.
Much better value than the fiends and dragons they've been releasing lately.

Awesome minis
Hmm 🤔
Interesting I have the first king mini
Nice minis but not sure I would get them
