Man that was some singing right there in West Virginia trucks in the fast lane suck butt man ......Long ride man I bet you can't wait to get home after that ride. And yeah man the bridge was cool how it was all lit up.
If you do the trip where you travel south to do haunts on the way home, keep in mind that most of them are only open on Fridays and Saturdays. There are a few that might be open on Wed, Thurs, and Sun, but for the most part, it’s just those 2 days.
I've read some of the rules and it doesn't work for me, I tend to like to fuel up the night before and leave well before gas stations open around her. plus I don't see the appeal in paying someone to tell me I did what I know I did
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews Huh... I don't remember having to pay for it. Granted I did it over a decade ago, so memory might be a bit blurred. I totally get not wanting to pay for it, etc. I did it the one time, and haven't bothered attempting it since. I found that when you are running that hard, you don't get to enjoy the ride and things along the way... it is all about making the distance.
Congrats on getting your 1K. Did you do it officially on the books with the iron butts association? Either way it's really cool. My first two were off the books and my last two were on the books. Four total for me.
I've done about 9 or 10 now and never logged them. Paying someone to tell me I did what I know I did just spent appeal to me. Thanks for checking it out!!
dude, i think you were kinda losing it there for a while lol and its Blue Ridge Mountains LOL. i pass trucks like that and think the same thing, i try and look to see if there are any straps or chains loose lol. man, it sounded like you were starting to hangry LOL
I always have flashbacks of Final Destination when getting behind anything open. I asked some truck drivers about passing. They all so not have the same speed restrictions and depending on the load some are slower than the others. They are in the left lane often around here. We have some cool ones. Field of screams. That prison in philly. The only issue is you have to go on a weekend. That's when the go all out. It's kind of hard to do more than one or two a night. That's the Gov Cuomo bridge. Its beautiful.. Tons of night photography. They may want to rename that soon :)
If you dont want trucks in the left lane mandate hourly pay instead of by the mile or it will never change. When your paid by the mile every mile per hour makes a difference.
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews If you're governed to 62 your not gonna sit behind someone going 60 and its gonna take a while to pass. Covering miles is how those drivers make money. Blame that on the trucking companies and government for paying and allowing the mileage pay. Sit in traffic for an hour, no pay. Sit at a shipper/receiver all day, no pay... You think those drivers are gonna care if they inconvenience you for 5 minutes? Force these companies to pay by the hour and congestion from trucks will drop drastically. ...and believe it or not that 2mph might be the difference between spending their days off in the truck or at home...
You skipped over my area, but I think you filmed where I 81 turns into I78. You've done enough Saddle sores this year where you could have been a gotten into the mile eater program in the Iron Butt Association
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews I like the certs on the wall, I like to gamify my riding a little. There are some interesting ride ideas on their page, if you pay the organization or not.
I 100% agree on the truck thing. No need to take 5-10 miles to pass another truck. They need to just stay in the right lane and not back up traffic for miles. How many 1k's have you done at this point?
1k in a day is freaking awesome! Love the video
Thanks my dude, there's a bunch of 1k vids on the channel if you haven't gotten your fill yet!
Nice work, glad you had a safe trip
thank you kindly and thanks for watching!
Riding in a tropical storm sucks! Good stuff Ben. You're the 1k in a day king!
ohhhhhh it sure did! Learned a lot that day on how to prep my bike for trips like that. Thanks for watching!
Dude, you’re a madman for driving that much in 1 day! But hey, I’m glad you made it safe and sound. I gotta hear this PA story next time I see you!
Ohhhhhh there's a few PA stories, I'm permanently scarred by that state
Glad that you made it back home safe and sound 👍👍👍👍
Yup! Alive and kicking! Thanks for watching!

Right?!?! Why do I not have a record deal yet?!
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews Well that's the same as me singing in to toilet man as only the shit listens.
The Tappenzzz is the way. That’s a hell of a ride.
It's pretty damn glorious
Awesome video as always sir
thanks and thanks for watching!

well damn, that's no fun but good to know!
Should have done the paperwork for the Iron Butt award.

Man, you've put more miles on your bike doing "1k in a day" rides than I have... altogether. LOL. Glad you made it home safe!
Time to get out and ride!!!
@@BikesBeardsAndBrews I know, right? My excuse is usually #DadLife
I always think of Final Destination when I see log trucks!
Right?! The nightmare is real
How many 1Ks have you done now?
uhhhhh Honestly not totally sure...10ish?

i came to hear SLAYERRRRRR lol
DANCE WITH THE DEAD IN MY DREAMS!!
LISTEN TO THEIR HALLOWED SCREAMS!!
Man that's a long ride, gotta try one someday. done a bit over 600 once, and I was beat. Good job.
they do take a different kind of mindset but totally worth doing!
2 lane highway 18wheelers are allowed in the left lane unless it's posted which is usually only on 3 lanes
they honestly shouldn't be either way. they back up traffic for miles just trying to pass another truck.
well that's just horrible

I lost it years ago, this was just caught on video lol
Nice, but when did you ride it? I know the traffic patterns. Richmond, DC, Baltimore, NY etc. Kudos
this would have been Monday Sept 16th

all these seem to take waaaaaaaay too long to not have a governor on there. OOOOOOOO Prison haunted house you say??
How many Iron butts do you have?? Your CRUSHING the miles.
I think between 9 or 10 now. Thanks man!
Ever notice how quickly tires disappear when you ride like that? Especially if you go "exponentially" faster than the speed limit? 😅
Honestly mine seem to get good life, I've been on American Elite's for years

If it takes quite literally 5 minutes to pass another truck are you really picking up time?!

to PA's credit, they have Sheetz.
Dude I dunno, last few Sheetz I went to were some of the grossest stops I've made for gas
🙃🤔Yep You Are a Crazy Man.. But Hats Off To You🤠
HA! Thank you sir!
I always avoid the GWB, Better to go around to the Tappenzz bridge. Longer in miles but your moving and not sitting around doing nothing
GWB earrrrrrly in te AM isn't horrible but anything after is death

Oh man, it drives me insane

excellent!
Ask him about his loose wheel in PA
loose then non existent lol

I believe around 9 or 10 now over the last few years
There is no rush hour, it's because of the idiots in the front of each lane!
yup, there's always those people that mess it up for the rest of us
