- We installed this Kenwood Excelon DMX1057XR in this 2009 Ram 1500. Also installed a Kenwood CMOS-740HD camera utilizing our in-house designed license plate bracket.
This radio has wireless Apple CarPlay and android auto and posts a 10 inch screen making for a great user experience.
Loving this radio! I have a 2017 Grand Cherokee Alititude trim level. Do you think it would block the a/c vents with it's size?
I really don't think so. You can measure the space in between your vents to get an idea. The unit measures 10" wide by 7" tall.
Would this fit in 5th gen 4Runner?
Yes, it will. The chassis of this radio is a standard sized double din so it will fit any vehicle that will accept a double din.

How does it handle the navigation voice volume? Does it have separate channels for volume like pioneer head units have?
Yes, it has separate volume settings for navigation prompts. Simply adjust the volume when the navigation is talking and it will set it at that volume and then go back to your regular source volume when the navigation prompts are finished.
Anyway just to get the dash kit? I would like mine as flush as possible. I’d have you install it but you’re 2000 miles away 😢.
Yes sir. It’s just a standard double din kit for that truck. The radio has a double din chassis and the screen mounts to the front after the dash is reassembled.
If you don’t already have the radio, we can hook you up with everything you need and ship it to you.
Any suggestions for a 2020 Tacoma. The stock head unit sucks and no wireless android auto.

Do you know how to access the secret menu so that you can change the splash screen from kenwood to another image from usb?

Yes, it will work in a 2005 Highlander. The camera inputs are composite inputs so most cameras are also compatible. It also has an input for the Kenwood DRVN520 drive camera that you can view from the radio screen. Thanks for the question and for watching. 😁

What are the options for this unit for a 2012 ram 2500? Front cam? Side cams etc?
Yes, All of those can be added. They can be integrated into the turn signal triggers to activate when turning.

What camera model are you using with this Kenwood? Looks Amazing.
That’s the Kenwood CMOS740HD. And yes, it’s incredible! Super clear picture even on the bigger screens. We love it!
Will it play music files from an SD card? I know it'll do usb. But on some videos I see an SD slot on the main unit behind the screen.
@de_41 This unit doesn't actually have the SD slot there. What you are seeing is just where the SD slot would be on other receivers that have Garmin Nav built in. Those units "can" play from the SD slot, but you'd be loosing the built in navigation when you take the existing card out of the slot.

How do I retain the psi 2012 tundra
If you’re referring to the tire pressure monitoring system, the Maestro, paired with a compatible radio like this one, will display that information for your 2012 Tundra.
@@jacksoncaraudio5890 thank you The technician that set up my stereo skip this step I talked to I datalink this morning they told me to take it back and they will walk the technician through something that has to do with the wire they have to check it or re-harness it thank you Hopefully my 2012 SR5 will be working with all the functions of the maestro with the Kenwood compatible receiver I’m also having troubles with the gauge specifically the engine oil temperature gauge I can’t get that to come out either or the widget for the weather

Yes, it does. It requires a specific trim piece and integration modules to retain oem features. Probably not a DIY project. Give us a call or find your local Excelon dealer for details.

@@jacksoncaraudio5890 It is the base model 2022 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty with a stock 5" radio.
@@203KBob We’ll need to jump on a call sometime for that one. (Or swing by the shop). The short answer is that there’s not an interface that has been verified to work with your vehicle yet. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean we may not be able to make it work.
Will this unit fit in 2012 jeep Liberty?
Hi Steven! Yes, it will. It has a standard “double din” size chassis and the face mounts to the chassis after its mounted in the dash panel.

Nope! Not to worry. 😁 The hinge on this unit is steel. I have this unit in my personal truck and it is super sturdy. Doesn’t even shake when I hit these Tennessee potholes. 😃

Nice video, and seems like it’s mounted pretty much flush. I bought the DNR1007XR about a month ago and the reputable shop I bought it from wasn’t able to mount it flush in my 2010 Ram 2500. The bottom part of the screen sticks out over an inch and it looks very bad in my opinion.
Have you guys mounted that stereo on a 2010-2012 Ram 2500 and made it sit flush like the one in this video? If so, what kind of kit did you use? I’d like to buy one, I’m in Houston, Texas.
Is yours a different dash that the one in this video? (It’s a 2009)
We have to make small modifications and/or adjustments to most installations in order to get the best fit so it may be that your installer just didn’t do everything possible to get it back further.

We use a Pac CDK642. The chassis is a standard double din.

Is there a screen brightness adjustment?
Yes there is. Press the volume knob and it will show up in the options on the top left. There’s also a “screen off” option that I like to use at night.

Can I fit this in a jeep jl
@justiceknight6877 will not fit in the JL. It has a double din chassis which is too big for the subdash of the JL.
However, We do have a 10” media center we us in the JL that has very similar features but has a remote mounted chassis. We have a vehicle specific dash bezel that makes it look factory too!

This unit includes wireless Apple CarPlay. Nothing else needed for that. If you’re wanting to “mirror” your iPhone screen to the radio without the ability to control it from the screen, you could use an HDMI adapter and you’d be able to mirror when the vehicle is parked.

El CarPlay me funciona muy bien, pero con la App Mirroring de Kenwood no se deja emparejar….
El adaptador hdmi tiene que ser con un convertidor o un cable normal hdmi a con conector de iPhone…?
You’ll need a lightning to HDMI adapter and then plug into the back of the radio where you’ll find a standard hdmi port.
The head unit is trash!! For $1000 dollarsbyou get a head unit that 2 years down the road will intermittently turn off and on over and over again even after replacing the stupid plastic piece in between the display and unit
I’m not sure where you purchased yours or who installed it but we’d be more then happy to try to assist you and get any issues your having resolved.
