A joy to blow some infini-tones on this ditty. And an honor to contribute my "2 cents" to this truly groundbreaking album. Can't wait for the world to have their ears tickled, surprised, and nourished by these forthcoming soundz.... Earth's ears are in for a treat!!

There is harmony in the "theoretical" sense - I've known about that my whole life because my father was a jazz guitarist. Then there is harmony in the physical sense, which I learned about in Engineering classes. But the difference between these two...that's something I've never thought about until I heard this.

Subhraag sounds so good on this intro! Really beautiful fluidity in how he's using pitch.
And I think I really like the tenderness of so many of the melodic lines here. As much as I was blown away when that live version came out, this is going to be the one I listen to even more now.
    Also great sounding production!
    Listening forward to the album!

@@HearBetweenTheLines I do now! All the microtonal music I've played in the past has been rather contemporary and I think it put me off... I'm certainly going to delve deeper into this rabbit hole thanks to you :)

Hi yall! I'm surprised to see no one in the comments mentioning Jacob Collier.
If you liked this outstanding track, you may like JC as well. You should start with his track "Lua" if you want some more bossa nova

Hey guys, just found 2 weeks ago, love the song. You guys are making insane stuff! Looking for what Uni I'll be going to next year (I'm in Canada, Montreal). What universities around the world do you know are versed in microtonality? Cheers guys!

    • @HearBetweenTheLines
      @HearBetweenTheLines  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Hey Philippe! Glad you like our stuff ;)
We know about 3 places that have practical microtonal ensembles in their jazz departments:
      - Vienna, led by Philipp Gerschlauer (insane Alto Sax)
      - Berklee (Boston), led by Dave Fiuczynski (insane Guitar)
      and
      - Hamburg, led by us :)
We'd love for you to join the ensemble with your instrument :D
There are a lot of contemporary 'classical' courses/classes about it, even in Hamburg, but we're jazzers, so we can't really give you any advice about those...
      Hope that helped!
