    But I’m 100% doing this in my backyard this week! This has been super helpful. I pretty much had a rough idea of what to do and how but the turn buckles and the ferrel bits were clutch and I liked how you zip tied several at once before moving the ladder! I wouldn’t have thought about that straight away! Nice video!

    Very practical approach and informative. May I add that cable connection durability can last longer if :
    1. Have the end cables tied/locked not just by the hammered/crimped silver thing (sorry I think u call it ferrol).
    2. The loop can also be protected by a metal shield so the cable is not the only one touching the eye hook at the end.
    I wonder if shower curtain holder would look nice as an attachment to the string lights ;)

      Hi Yes I agree. I'm here looking for a solution to that very problem. I used similar zip ties and after a year in the AZ sun...even being "UV resistant". They are failing.

    Hey John, thanks for the useful video. Question for you: why do you use the S hook on one end of the wire? I was thinking maybe to easily take down if needed, but can’t it already be removed via the turnbuckle?

    • @JohnHeng
      @JohnHeng  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I just used the s-hook to make it easier to hook stuff on since I was doing this by myself while also filming. I think some of the eyelets that I had, the turnbuckle wouldn't have fit directly also. You can definitely just use a turnbuckle, s-hook just makes it a little easier. Hope that helps 🙂
