Hi Ety & hubby/boyfriend?! 😃 I was mistaken...the wood POSTS rot quicker when put in DIRT w/out the coating. In cement they'll last at least 8yrs w/out any coating. 😊

Lights are cool on your light posts. Good job doing it yourself. But a few questions. Why deal with planters in the first place? Just dig holes and put the suckers in the ground. I would think it be easier. Also if your wood is treated you won’t need to make a tunnel for drainage. JS. But enjoy your lights!!!

Really liked your video! I’m trying to do this w my new deck and wanted a realistic ( with mistakes added !) video. The tip about the Quikrete ready mix was fantastic I wasn’t aware this product existed and was about to buy the old type mix

Nice job, thanks. What size potter did you get? What do you recommend? Also how long are the 4 x 4's?

In 2 years+ those lights are going to sag unless you string them on aircraft wire. Electrical wiring will stretch because it is vulnerable to heat and stress from the pull.

I take down the lights every fall. They’ve been up for a few years and no sag :)

That is an option. However, most people leave the lights hanging year round like I do. No way I am climbing up a 14’ pergola and taking lights down every year. More power to you.
