My kid recently talked about wanting to learn to play and so I've been looking into Pokémon cards again which was a mistake... Spent $100 today on packs and a couple decks for us to learn together. Might have gone a little overboard but it was fun.
@@k1llkyle463 my kids brought me back too… and I got back on hard! Lol $100 is an average spend honestly. It’s expensive for sure! Shop Facebook groups and small online card shops. Avoid big retailers like target and Walmart. Msrp is not the way to go. Try to keep packs under $4 or less. Depends on the set but I aim for less than $3 for standard sets. Welcome back tho! It’s a great time! Just make sure to budget! 😜
DUDE! I took my brother in law to tournys in the early 2000s and collected pretty hard and sold my set over Covid and los t my booty. I'm fresh back in the game and diggin' your videos!
@@DadsDailyRips When I first started collecting trading cards it was 1994-1995 fleer ultra x-men, 1994 flair marvel inaugural edition, 1995 flair marvel annual. But when I was young I brought my binder to a little cookout we had at this park with a bunch of people we know. These boys I knew was messing with me and I got so mad I threw down my binder in the road and started chasing them. When I gave up chasing them I went back to get my binder but this card was driving by and someone jumped out and grabbed my binder and drove off. I was a distance away and I couldn't get to it in time. I was SO mad at myself. I started collecting again and I still have the cards to this day. I have batman forever metal, pokemon cards from back then and modern pokemon, 1995 fleer marvel metal, 1994 marvel masterpieces, I even have some power rangers cards with the original characters.
I'm sorry to hear that you lost your Pokemon cards in a fire. I had to sell mine because I was moving often. I got started back in 1999 with Base set. I can't believe how many Charizards I got rid of. I guess the past is the past, and will never recover those losses....lol.
@@franknayavich1929 Bro, I feel that pain so much! Just gotta get back to the chase! You could track replacements down. I’ll admit, it’s not the same but it does feel awesome at the same time!
Me being a giant dum dum I threw away my 20 year old cards I had when I was a kid. I never thought they could have some valuable ones... Recently played a bit of TCG on my tablet and started watch a few videos about collecting and man I wish I haven't threw them away 😅
Oh man. That is heartbreaking! I’m sorry for your loss. But… it’s never too late to start again! I’ve been working my way through the OG sets and it’s been a blast!
How can you say any other set then the new 151 set for getting back into the hobby or new people. It’s the original Pokemon and the cards are worth a ton selling or trading. So when you pull multiples of good cards you can trade and sell them fast.
@@xGR1MxREAPERx Thsts true, but someone starting out doesn’t have a trading network or know how to work Facebook groups. And up until this week, 151 prices have been absolutely horrible. $40 for 6 packs does not make sense for someone just starting out. Pull rates are also not as good as CZ. While CZ is also a specialty set, you can find far better prices than 151. $25 ETBs at GameStop or the new Sea and Sky collection box from Sam’s club has CZ at $2.80 a pack! I love 151, I’ve got a ton of 151 videos on my channel. But for price, pull rates, availability, and value, CZ is still king.
Probably because at the moment, getting your hands on 151 at MSRP or even close to MSRP is near impossible. Crown Zenith is still widely available at MSRP prices, and is regarded as the 'best experience' and satisfying set to open.
@ You are exactly correct! And sometimes you can get Crown Zenith for under $3 a pack! Price, hit rate, and value are all A+! I love 151 but CZ is a great set for a first time collector!

I love the total value in the end. Really highlughts your hits, just wow 🤩
Im glad you enjoyed it! This was a fun one for sure!
I know it's not worth a ton but I was hyped when I pulled that radiant charizard from the sea & sky premium collection box yesterday. 😁
@@TheMegatron673 Totally agreed! Such a cool card! I tend to enjoy the less valuable cards more, as least based on visual appeal!
Good for you to find crown zenith sale. Here, that was 3,700 pesos
@@juliuskarlomendoza it was an awesome deal! I should have bought more!
Awesome hits man I have to say the deoxys was my favorite sick looking card
That is definitely a good one!
The first charizard I ever pulled was when team rocket came out. It was the holo version but it wasn't first edition.
@@TheMegatron673 yooo! Thats wild! Do you still have it!?
